We had a great time!
We spent one afternoon and one whole day with Sarah, Duncan and the kids before they left for their holiday so we had plenty of time to get know the animals and their routine. Sarah and Duncan were very organized and left us a list with everything we need to know. If there was anything we needed to ask during the sit, Sarah was always available and the communication was great.
We really felt at home and had so much fun with all the animals and especially fell in love with the pet dogs and cats who are very cuddly!

It was great getting to know this lovely family and their daily life!
We would definitely recommend staying here :)

We had a great time in Austin watching Alex! Lesley’s place is awesome and she gave us a ton of recommendations of what to do and where to eat in the city. Alex was really easy to take care of - he doesn’t need a lot other than food, water, a clean littler box and a few pets now and then. He’s pretty self sufficient and really sweet. I’d highly recommend this sit. Lesley was great to interact with, super friendly and even left us their favorite local beers to try. We were also really comfortable in their home and slept in every morning because their room is so comfy.

This was a "triple crown sit." 1st - LOCATION - The town of Blowing Rock is such a wonderful place. This quaint, small community has so much to offer in the way of things to do. Whether it's sightseeing on the Blue Ridge Parkway, exploring the many nearby parks on foot, bike or even horseback or just shopping and enjoying local restaurants in town or the nearby communities, it would be unimaginable not enjoying a sit in this location. 2nd - HOSTESS/HOUSE - Jo Ann was an amazing hostess. Since my wife and I would be arriving in Blowing Rock the day prior to the start of the sit, she graciously invited us to stay at her home the previous evening, and even provided us with a fantastic meal. Her home, which includes many artistic interests, is truly a delight. It has the perfect kitchen for a "foodie" to enjoy. The house also has a living room which includes a large fireplace that is perfect for sitting by a fire while enjoying an evening of TV or perhaps just reading a book with a glass of wine. Jo Ann's house sits on a very large, private lot that includes a pergola that my wife and I spent a great deal of time enjoying while relaxing by the firepit. 3rd - PETS - Ollie and Hamm are 2 small, mixed breed dogs that are sweet, loveable and best buddies. It did not take long for these two dogs to "connect" with my wife and me. Ollie liked to follow us around the house, hoping us to sit down so that he could settle in nearby, or jump up on a lap in order to enjoy a few pets. Hamm had the perfect name......he was indeed a real ham! His favorite way to spend time was to play outside with his floppy toy. When not playing, Hamm and Ollie liked being outside exploring the 1/2 acre fenced-in yard. At night, both of them turned into "snuggle bunnies" that would then sleep thru the entire night at the bottom of our bed. As I stated at the beginning of this review, the LOCATION, HOSTESS/HOME and PETS made this a true "Triple Crown Sit." Thank you so much, Jo Ann, for selecting my wife and I for your first Trusted Housesitters.

I had a great time in Berkeley with the pups and cat. They all get along well, and like to randomly engage in play when the mood strikes. Zippy likes shorter walks, and taking extra time to sniff things. Boingo likes a brisker pace with longer walks, taking less time to pause and sniff around. Timmy would also join us on walks, which was amusing, and was friendly and greeted me out front as soon as I arrived. Joel was helpful with getting to the sit, and I appreciate the preparations Denise made for my stay. Both were upfront with the particulars of the sit, and I got a good feeling from our video call. The home is in a great location to explore the town, and the parks particularly along the water are quite nice too, really enjoyed the sit.

Rum is such an easy and delightful dog. He is responsive and kind even when other dogs are scared of him because he is a big, black dog. I took him everywhere with me; into town, pubs, countryside, beach. He encountered horses, squirrels, pretended he didn’t see a cat, and lots of dogs, local people and tourists and he got on with them all.
Rum is an absolute treasure!

Louis is a knight hidden within a butterball body. He takes his guardian duties very seriously when the neighbors' dogs sound the alarm. Louis jumps from his couch perch and dashes out the dog door to monitor the deck and yard. Frenchie is more relaxed but follows Louis to check out the situation. Both practice their combat training throughout the day on the couches with numerous rest periods perched on the back of the couches. They will gobble their breakfast but portion out their dry food a few pieces at a time on the rug. I found this to be very cute with their nails tapping the floor as they went back and forth.
Charlie makes her way in and out the dog door without help. I couldn't help but check the side door many times a day to see if she was ready to come in and she seemed happy to come in but it may have been that Charlie knew that she would get belly rubs. Frenchie would come around for her belly rubs and give ankle licks as a thank you. Louis seemed skeptical of me since I mistaken a deer for a dog during one of our early conversations but he was comfortable enough to think he was going to nap with me.
Verla is very welcoming and laid back. Her home has many windows with great views of the fall foliage. The neighborhood is quiet with a herd of 13 deer who walk around and lie in people's yard as if they were relaxed dogs. The dining table and kitchen island were great for my genealogy project.

I would love to visit again.
