Lesley and Mike were some of the nicest people we have met on Trusted Housesitters. We only had a short sit, but they made us feel extremely comfortable with a delicious welcome meal. Stella is a lovely dog, a real pleasure to look after. She is very chilled and happy doing her own thing - but still loves a cuddle on the sofa! Their house was comfortable and warm, with lots to do in the area. We would highly recommend this sit to anyone, and hopefully get to do it again ourselves sometime!
I really enjoyed looking after Indie. It was my first time looking after a sheepdog. She has such a lovely nature and she was amazing while out walking, her most impressive trick is when she’s walking off the lead and a car comes she automatically sits further away from the road and doesn’t move until she is told to! While looking after her I met up with my daughter and family for Sunday brunch in a lovely dog friendly pub in nearby Olney. She just lay down and behaved impeccably throughout our visit. The only time she was heard was when the piped music in the pub changed and she’s got a definite choice in music and if she doesn’t like it then she howls! It was so funny and my grandchildren really loved her. She even does that when she’s in the dining room at home and if you’re watching tv and she doesn’t like it then she howls! Once you know what she’s telling you she’s fine. All in all I enjoyed my stay (apart from the exceptionally hot weather we had which meant that I had to tailor our walks to suit when it was cooler)!
We would definitely recommend house-sitting for Anne-Marie. She is a remarkable person, who certainly loves animals. Anne-Marie was very good with communicating before and during our stay. She set excellent expectations for our time in Cyprus, which allowed us to get into a great routine from day one. Her house is great! We loved picking figs and pomegranates on our walks with the dogs. Cyprus is incredible! We were able to see a lot of the beaches and cities due to Anne-Marie generously offering us her car. We were very glad we did this housesit and hope to return!
We had a lovely month in the English countryside with four sweet, well-behaved black labs on a gorgeous property. Thanks Alison and Ben.
