Kay
There’s no doubt that Kay has a charming apartment in a lovely neighborhood. Mitzy is even more adorable in person. She is clearly used to getting a lot of attention and she earns every bit of it.

If you have the opportunity to sit for Mitzy, we recommend making sure you have done lots of preparatory communication with Kay. The guide that Kay provided was not completely filled out and some key details were missed. This lead to some unfortunate and stressful miscommunications (including her return date which was misrepresented in her THS posting leaving us in a bit of a lurch).

We have been using THS almost full time in 2023 and we have found it to mostly be a community focused on reciprocity and gratitude. Occasionally however some people seem to use it for free labor, missing out on the great communal opportunities.

Take the time to get to know the concierge and front desk people. That also came in handy.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out directly if you have any questions about our time or are seeking any clarifications!

Sue
We had a great time petsitting for Sue in Kidderminster. Cora and Teddy are two very sweet little Westies - the best of friends - who love cuddles and tummy rubs and enjoy spending time with their humans. Cora and Teddy live in a friendly neighbourhood, with the wonderful Springfield Park right at the end of their lane, with a community cafe and a variety of great walks.

The Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal runs alongside the park and there’s a large pool with fishing rights. We saw deer, swans and their cygnets, and ducks, and even trout in the stream. Broadwaters park - the grounds of a former mill - is within walking distance, with a waterwheel and brook.

At the other end of the lane, there’s a very useful Tesco, and Kidderminster town centre was a short drive away by car. The pretty little towns of Bewdley and Stourport are 10 minutes away by car.

Sue gave us a comprehensive tour of her home and left us an excellent manual for reference. We were very comfortable, and the weather being fine, spent several pleasant evenings sitting outside in her delightful courtyard garden.
