Gaile and David are the loveliest, kindest, generous and most thoughtful couple you will ever meet! Their home is set in exceptionally beautiful countryside, a short drive from spectacular Swaledale where there are boundless breathtaking walks, cycling and driving routes. Views from the house are breathtaking and lovely convenient doggy walks right from the front door. I had so much fun walking Inca through Wheat fields trails and countryside paths. All the amenities you might need is available from Northallerton just 20 mins away, and Bedale is closer and really pretty too. The location of Gaile and David's home is my heaven on earth and a real detox from busy city life. The house is a beautiful barn conversion, stunningly designed and exceptionally comfortable with a lovely enclosed garden. I had everything I needed during my stay and was made to feel so welcome. Their guidebook given to me well in advance of the sit is by far the best and most organised and thorough that I have ever seen on THS. It includes all the home appliance manuals, vet numbers, tips on walks, days out and the best local pubs and restaurants and lots more. I was there for 2 months, and Inca in her 'adolescent' puppy phase was amazing to look after and very responsive to training. Gaile and David have done a spectacular job laying solid good manners and training foundations that makes this high energy little lady easy to care for. She is an adorable excitable and always 'happy to see you' charming character, she's very easy to fall in love with and even harder to leave! Thank you again so much for the opportunity to look after wonderful Inca and your stunning home! If you ever need a sitter again I'll be there!! 🤗
Mags & Barry are wonderful hosts who have a beautiful home five minutes’ drive from the sea. The dogs are adorable and highly energetic. I couldn’t get enough cuddles from them in the evening. I warmed to both but it was 3 year old Otis who stole my heart. It was nice to have things to do including caring for the chicken and watering the plants. Fresh eggs for breakfast was a bonus. The house strikes the perfect balance between being stylish yet really comfortable; the bed luxurious, and the gardens exquisite. Game of fetch along the beach was the best start to the day. M&S food shop around the corner came in handy. Highly recommend.
Shy, and vocal at first, once Habibi gets to know you, he is all for cuddling beside you, letting you pet him, but while awake and active, not so much, but picking him up and cuddling is usually ok for just a few minutes. During the night, he did sleep elsewhere, but came to check on us a couple of times ! Lol A guest bathroom with awesome soft towels is close to the guest bedroom. All cleaning supplies are available as is a light easy to use vacuum. Steve and Audrey's communication was great and we felt comfortable there. I'm sure if the weather had cooperated, the beautiful backyard , comfortable deck would have been our favorite place. Hubby enjoyed the dart board downstairs! Thanks for choosing us to take care of Habibi, and if schedules work out, we will be delighted to stay again .
Poppy is the most beautiful dog, we loved watching her for a couple weeks. She was really sweet with our baby and by the end of our stay she was treating him like her puppy— the cutest thing! Poppy loved her walks and was especially fond of bunnies. She was the perfect mix of puppy and chill and was always down for a cuddle. Shannon was a very communicative host and was so kind and thoughtful. We would sit for her family again in a heartbeat!
Kate and her family were incredibly welcoming. They have a wonderful house and home full of warmth and love and as a result we felt very comfortable during the sit. Kaya also has the biggest heart. For such a young age she is very good. Kaya definitely loves to play but was very gentle with my son when playing. Kaya took to us quickly and asked for her morning belly rubs and evening cuddles. You need a strong arm when walking Kaya as she is very excited and curious however she was no trouble at all. My son is already asking when we can next look after Kaya.
This was my first sit on TrustedHousesitters and it was a great experience. Alex was great and provided all the information I needed! Her house was lovely and in a great location. Reese and I had fun visiting dog parks and walking around downtown. He is super well-behaved, cute, and cuddly. This sit was very easy and enjoyable.
