Such a gorgeous experience, lovely hosts, lovely accomodation in a very accessible location and most importantly a very good companion in Biggie Smalls. Biggie is very relaxed, he loves cuddles and fusses and makes a great companion on a walk or just whilst chilling at the house. He's on of the sweetest dogs I've ever met and anyone (including me) is lucky to get the chance to house sit him. He is a very easy dog to care for but that doesn't mean there isn't excitement and laughter in the sit too. He's a perfect dog to explore the area with and he makes you feel very at home with how comfortable he is with you. Without a doubt, Daniela and Michael are at the top, PERIOD! 100 points, 1000 stars, max Kudos, it’s crazy! The communication with Daniela and Michael was straightforward and to the point. Something I really appreciate that makes it efficient. They took the time to understand my background and the experience I brought to caring for their amazing home, plants and adorable baby pets. From our very first in-person meet & greet, I immediately felt at home and welcomed. They are so down-to-earth, funny, easy to talk to, and their life experience is truly inspiring. Sometimes, you meet strangers, and it just clicks as if you've known each other for years. I feel incredibly blessed to have met them and now consider them close friends! Wow, and that is straight from the heart. They were incredibly supportive for Shakura which meant a lot to us. Even adding her to the WhatsApp group so she was part of it all. She was jealous not to be with us this time, but I'm sure we will be visiting you from the day she back again. Their house is superbly located near the beaches with easy access to public transport. Nearby are groceries, restaurants, and large parks perfect for walking Princess Pepper and Big baby Rocky. I had the privilege of caring for all four: Pepper, Rocky, Kinky, and Trouble Sparks all by myself. What a joy, what a pleasure and a lovely hand full. We walked, talked, danced, and relaxed together, so funny. Kinky required medication in pill form. This sixteen-year-old kitty followed me around everywhere, and I adored how he was seeking attention and completely ignored Pepper's growling while looking straight in her soul. He's more active at night and sleeps close to you. By sitting beside him on the floor, comforting him with soft pets on his back, encouraged him to eat small bits and pieces throughout the evening, which was perfect! I was thrilled when I was able to put a little weight on him, especially noticeable at the hips. He often fell asleep in my arms while carrying him around or watching TV. I fell in love with him and his beautiful blue eyes. Pepper is simply adorable and compact. She has the diva side eye of course, tiptoes for treats, and despite her tiny legs, she hikes through tall grass and the big cities without any troubles. She is the boss of the house and protect if from everything with her cute barks fast and sprinting. At night, she snuggles under the blankets against you and becomes an irresistible cuddle monster. I wish I could have taken my big blue Ikea bag and put all four of them and take them home. Rocky is well-mannered, attentive, and followed me everywhere (Of course for food haha). Bu he is a big baby and want attention like the others. We walked more than 10 kilometers on some days, and he enjoyed our multiple walks throughout the day. We explored the entire east end together, which was great for both of us. Even did a downtown run one day. He's a bit anti-social with other dogs, so I found places where he could play fetch with a ball in a field all for himself. I miss hiking with these doggies and the picnics along the way. I'll definitely arrange another playdate when I'm back in your area. Daniela and Michael wouldn’t mind for sure. Sparks, the guardian of the garden against other cats, raccoons, and everything in between. With love I mean LOVES the outdoors, spending about 70% of her time outside and she will let you know with a unique meow when she wants to go out or needs to be picked up! At night, they all sleep on the bed, everyone has a corner it so funny (wish I could drop a picture here). With Sparky on your chest sniffing your eyeballs and licking your nose – hilarious! She loves sitting on your lap for a good brushing and purrs away as we are watching TV or chill in the garden. I feel incredibly fortunate to have met all of you. Like one other pet sitter mentioned “A ticket from the lottery” We will definitely see each other soon again, and I can't wait for the next opportunity to sit for you all. You've all captured my heart, and these are the moments I do pet sitting for! Shakura can’t wait to meet you and take a dip in the Jacuzzi as well. I apologize for bombarding you with so many videos and photos, but I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. I even made a paw painting from the furry crew on canvas! I fixed some things in and around the house. Next project on the patio we will do together! I absolutely loved staying at Ian and Saira’s beautiful house and looking after their fur babies! Loki the cat has has the funniest personality and is super sweet. Looking after him was very easy, and I got heaps of cuddles and head bumps 🥰 He’s an indoor cat and the litter set up is fantastic making clean up a breeze. Skye and Koru are also a dream to look after and are the happiest, friendliest goofballs❤️ Skye has the cutest, wiggliest butt, likes digging for shells and showing you her toys. Koru is a big softie who also loves a cuddle and a belly rub. Koru has meds but they were already sorted and labelled so all I had to do was put them in her bowl - easy! The house is incredible and is literally on the beach!! Waking up each day with incredible views and getting to walk out the door straight onto the beach is rare and I am so grateful I was able to experience this. The house is very clean and modern with every kitchen appliance you could ever want. Comfortable bed and couch. TV with lots of different options and a dedicated office area where I was able to work (with my furry friends providing emotional support). It’s a short walk to Portobello shops with a supermarket and lots of food options. Finally Ian and Saira (and Kailo) are amazing people, I felt so welcome and comfortable in their home. Excellent communication, happy to answer any questions and provided a thorough guide for anything I needed to know. Honestly I cannot recommend them enough and I will happily housesit again for them any time! 🥰
I loved spending time with Jackson. He's a cat with a great personality. I always felt like he was keeping an eye on me and he was often seeing me off when I left the house and waiting for me when I came home! I have been told before that a cat will come in when I call and found that wasnt quite the case, but Jackson actually does come, and when he does you must remember to give him his treat or he will remind you! Jacksons home is in such a great area, very central but on a quiet street, near the canal and easy reach to Regents Park and Hampstead Heath. Id have been very happy to sit for James and Kirstens next dates when they asked me if I hadnt been away myself at that time. I hope to have the opportunity again in future.
I had a wonderful time in a quiet neighbourhood with chickens and a cat. I would like to thank both Erica and Gerhard for their welcome and hospitality during my stay. They ensured that I had food on my first night and also were very kind to give me a lift to and from the train station (this is a bus ride away- not walkable with many bags) I stayed in one of their apartments which was very clean and had everything you needed. My stay was perfect, the beds were comfortable, hot water available at all times and the heating was put on as it was a little cold. The animals were great- easy to look after and I found great comfort and company when I went to feed and clean the chickens. As for Pedule- I made sure he saw me everytime I put food down so he knew there was food. He is such a lovely cat- likes attention :) Thanks again
Buster and Charlie were little sweethearts to sit for! Charlie took a couple days to warm up to me, but then he was just as affectionate and out-and-about as Buster. They do like to wake up quite early, so my routine was to feed them and then go back to sleep for a bit. Sal was a great host, super clear and communicative, and very generous and welcoming. The campus property is gorgeous, and very pleasant to go for walks, and there are multiple cute towns and hikes within a short drive. I'd definitely recommend this sit!
