We loved having Max and Dracaena look after Palug whilst we had a weekend away. We were fortunate enough to get to know them very well as they came a few days early (it fitted with overall plans better) which was super lovely. They were very communicative and updated with regular messages and photos (arrival time as well as whilst we were away). They got along well with Palug, and she seemed very content when we got back. The house was super tidy and left in perfect condition. We felt completely at ease whilst being away and i hope they had a lovely time exploring our local stomping grounds. Would very much recommend Max and Dracaena as future housesitters!
No review can adequately express our experience with Austin & Beth. They exceeded our expectations in every possible way. They cared for my daughter's crazy young golden, Riley, for a week and our 12 year old grumpy medically-challenged shih tzu, Bella, for a month. Because a narrative would become a novel, here are some highlights: THE PETS * administered liquid meds and eye drops, among multiple other pills, on a complex schedule to uncooperative Bella * alerted me to a growth on Bella's mouth that they thought needed attention and sent me a picture so I could show the vet. When the vet said it needed to be removed, they prepped her for surgery, took her and picked her up, administered all her new meds , nursed her back to health and kept us posted every step of the way * called when Riley literally jumped on the kitchen counter and ate 3 sticks of butter left out for a baking project. Although we said not to worry (he does worse regularly and has a stomach of steel), Austin insisted on calling an emergency vet and followed their advice to stay up with Riley on poop patrol all night (he was perfectly fine) *provided walks (challenging because Riley is a leash puller and Bella hates walks, but they made it all happen), love and cuddles and regular pictures and funny videos to document it * gave Bella a bath and a trim to make her more comfortable *tolerated with love and humor Bella's loud snoring THE HOUSE *Snow plowed our driveway AND OUR ELDERLY NEIGHBOR'S DRIVEWAY -- both extremely steep and icy--my neighbor was so impressed and appreciative he brought them banana bread *left house cleaner and more in order than when we left-- looked as if it had been deep cleaned when we arrived home. Not a trace. All laundry done; all beds made *cleaned my dirty baked-on baking trays *organized my messy dish towel drawer *left homemade chocolate peanut butter cookies to welcome us home I would absolutely trust Austin & Beth with any pet or any home anytime. They are caring, thoughtful, responsible, communicative, fun, funny and really just above and beyond in every way.
Charity is an excellent cat/housesitter. We can't think of a single thing that she could have done better. She took wonderful care of our 2 cats. It usually takes awhile for Lizzie and Nigel to warm up to new people, but they loved her from the start. We enjoyed receiving photos of them and updates. Charity even joined WhatsApp so we had a good way to communicate while we were in England. Despite being told it wasn't necessary, Charity did a very through clean before she left. We returned to a spotless house and 2 happy, well-cared for cats. She also kept the birds and deer fed. We would welcome her back anytime.
