Abby is a fantastic cat sitter! Our cats were super happy and acted normal when we got home. She left the house exactly as we had left it, and even took the extra time to wash our sheets for us! She's responsive, reliable, and trustworthy! She made sure to give us updates and send us photos during our trip. Alice and Tamara are absolutely the people you want taking care of your pets and staying in your home. This was our first experience with a house sitter and they put our minds at ease immediately. They were very responsive and easy to talk to, gave daily updates and pictures, and we came home to a clean home and happy pets. I knew Bella, our dog, was being exercised and loved on and they had no fear with our cat, Willie. I highly recommend this pair for any house sitting and hope they are available the next time we travel.
This was a very short sit but one that was a real delight from start to finish. Nell and Ed were the kindest of hosts and I had supper plus a very good briefing and comprehensive notes before they left. Their home is in deepest rural Gloucestershire and it feels a long way from urban living! The house is large and old with life mostly based in the kitchen which has an Aga and I was pleased that I hadn’t forgotten how to light the wood burner! It’s a remarkable house and for anyone interested in historic architecture or social history theres a lot to appreciate in and around the larger estate. It is real country living and a very practical place so boots, wellies and warm clothing are sensible because there are miles of glorious walks around which to explore with the dogs. So how do I describe Albert and Monty? They are real characters, wry endearing and I loved them!! They are easy, well trained, fun dogs who are responsive and ( being dachshunds) mostly obedient! They are excellent on the lead, always if on a road, but are great off lead and respond to the whistle. Monty is the older of the two so he’s a bit more sedate and laid back and can take his own time to do things! Albi needs a little bit more reassurance but is full of energy and endlessly happy with life as long he knows where you are and he does love to join you on the sofa where he will snuggle up as close as he can! My thanks to Nell and Ed for inviting me and, although it was only for a long weekend, it was a memorable sit with two lovely dogs which I totally recommend and I very much hope I can return again.
