Cat Sitters in Mount Rainier, MD

I was really hoping for a smooth experience with Duncan's pet care, and while Duncan seems like a nice person, there were several issues when I returned home that I feel need to be addressed. First, I explicitly stated that I did not want guests in my home, but my neighbor—who, while being a bit nosey, is generally helpful—mentioned that Duncan had someone over without my knowledge. This was quite concerning, as respecting my home and rules is important to me. Secondly, the cleanliness of the kitchen was not up to par. When I returned, I found sticky substances on the counters, around the sink, and residue left on the stove. Additionally, two pots stored in the cabinet were stained with what appeared to be the same food residue that was on the stove – one was my cast iron skillet. Cleanliness is a basic expectation when providing care, and this left me disappointed. The most disturbing issue, however, was the handling of the litter box. I had to throw away my broom and dustpan because they had been used to clean up cat waste that didn’t make it into the LitterBot because it was stuck in a cycle. It was clear that one of my cats was forced to relieve themselves outside of the litter box, and the way this was dealt with was unacceptable. Finally, Duncan notified me of a broken doorknob, which I had to report to maintenance. I later found out that it appeared to have been pulled off rather than being worn down by normal use as I assumed when I received the text. While I’m not sure how this happened, it was just another frustrating issue on top of everything else. I'm generally not picky and try to be understanding, but these problems left me disappointed with the care provided. I hope Duncan takes this feedback constructively and improves these areas for future clients.

Makeda and Dani were great house guests. She provided the perfect amount of info on our pets daily activities and sent some great photos. She was courteous and considerate and left our home as clean as she found it if not cleaner.

We were so happy for Mariama to come for her 2nd time. Oreo was probably even happier! Mariama is an amazing sitter - she sends a lot of (funny) updates. It’s so reassuring when away to know she was there to take care of Oreo and look after our home. Mariama is an amazing and very sweet person - you’ll be lucky to have her petsit for you!

Jenna was phenomenal! Complete 10/10 we came back to a very clean and tidy house maybe even more tidy than we left it! Most important we came home to some very happy puppers! She sent us some photos while we were gone which we really crave. She was very quick to respond to communication and is super friendly and easy going. Thank you so much Jenna! We would love to have you sit again anytime!

We had the pleasure of hosting Jolana recently and she went above and beyond to make sure our dog Sawyer was taken care of. A cancelled flight resulted in us returning home a full day later than expected, and Jolana graciously accommodated the change and made sure everything was taken care of until we got home. We really appreciate her flexibility and would be happy to have her back anytime!

Emma was a great house sitter! Very responsive and organized, which I appreciate. She went the extra mile for sure, and handled surprises with my pets with grace and kindness. A very kind friend to animals, and a wonderful sitter! I would love to have her again. Above and beyond my expectations!

5 stars all around, celeste was a perfect sitter for Sherlock! She provided regular updates/cute daily videos, and was so thoughtful in making sure that he was cared for and loved while I was away. It seemed like he warmed up to her very quickly. I would happily have her back any time.

Sasha is amazing, and I really can’t say enough good things about her!! She was an absolutely incredible sitter for our dog Rosie. Sasha came over for a meet and greet/walk through prior to the sit, and I could immediately see what a great way she has with dogs. Rosie is often skeptical of strangers but was quick to warm up to Sasha. During the sit, Sasha was in touch regularly and I could see how comfortable Rosie was with her. Our flight home ended up significantly delayed, and Sasha extended her stay at our house to ensure Rosie’s comfort and safety - which was absolute lifesaver. (I know this wouldn’t always be possible if Sasha had other commitments or schedule conflicts, but I SO appreciated her flexibility in this situation where it was possible.) We were extremely lucky to have Sasha housesit for us, and truly - anyone would be lucky to have Sasha care for your pet and home. She’s the best!

Nina was a fantastic house and dog sitter for us! She asked great questions in advance that made it clear she was a thoughtful, experienced sitter. During the visit Nina sent us amazing pictures of our dogs. It was clear they were relaxed, happy, and having a great time! Nina left the house incredibly clean and tidy. She was great and welcome to sit for us again!

Jennifer house-sat for us for a long weekend. We came back to a spotless home and happy dog. Jennifer was responsive, communicative, and friendly. Thank you Jennifer!

Lydia and Mike were wonderful! They were easy to talk to, capable, helpful, and punctual. Immediately upon meeting them, I felt relaxed and confident in their abilities to take excellent care of our family pets and our home. I loved the updates and our home was in perfect order when we arrived back (this was just a three day/two night sit, and I had not a single concern or worry while we were away). Lydia and Mike are dream zeewoi sitters- I would welcome them back in a heartbeat!

Shannon, her daughter Harper and their dog Teddy stayed with Rhys & Harper. I meet with them briefly before I left and they are very friendly, nice and easy going. Teddy is very well behaved and got along well with Rhys and Harper in the brief interaction I had with them. They spoiled Harper & Rhys with a special treat and I got lots of updates which I appreciated. 😊
