I had a great time in the beautiful apartment of Cyrus and his wife They were both really friendly and you could tell, that it was important to them that I would feel good in their apartment. The communication was always super easy and they responded to my questions immediately. It was also helpful, that they gave me very clear instruction before the actual sit. Most importantly: I enjoyed the company from Big Boy a lot. He was most of the time supershy, but I enjoyed his goofy character and the talks with him (yes, he can talk!). In the end, he even let me pet and cuddle him and I felt honored that he chose to do that. 😄 All in all, I enjoyed my stay a lot and can highly recommend to sit for Cyrus and his wife.
I had a wonderful stay at Erin’s Home! Yukon and Ophelia were absolutely lovely to care for. Erin was clear with how to care for her pets and was always available and quick to respond if I had any questions. I would highly recommend this stay! 💕 Mattie
Just wanted to say thank you to Julie and Simon for picking us to do this house sit. We had the best time. As a seasoned house sitter, we are aware of many of the potential issues that can affect our experiences. This house sit was one such case where everything was absolutely lovely. During this sit we had the space to work very hard, staying up until the wee hours of the morning to keep a deadline, and relax and be fully present in our comfortable surroundings, which was a treat! We absolutely loved spending time with and taking care of Luna, Pumpkin and Parker. Luna is a sweetheart of a dog, who was great company as we explored the many local walks. She is very gentle and sweet natured and quiet. I don't think I ever heard her bark the entire time we were there! Parker is a very handsome and chatty boy who loves his food! He usually snuggled in bed with us and soothed us with the soft sounds of his purring. He was very easy to take care of-using his cat flap and catching sunbeams. Pumpkin is a lovely little girl who was healing from a broken leg. She needed to be crated and kept from jumping, but was very sweet natured about it all. We loved keeping her safe in her fluffy bed in the living room. She seemed to really enjoy home school videos and Spiderman movie marathons. We were very comfortable in Julie and Simon's home. It's very beautiful, and taking care of things was straightforward. Julie very carefully filled in the house sitter manual and added the on sit reminders for the rubbish which were both immensely helpful. I know it's not an easy task to do, but we really really appreciated it. So...it's 8 thumbs up for us. We would jump at the chance to return.
Really loved watching boo and scout they are so much fun! Boo is more vocal and scout is more shy. They warmed up to me really fast and when it was time for me to leave I think Boo was sad, which melted my heart . I am definitely going to miss those two! The apartment is beautiful and very spacious . close to the subway with a nice view of the park and a partial view of the George Washington Bridge which I loved! Zoe and Chris were always available if I had a question. They were so hospitable and made sure everything was just right before I arrived! They are so thoughtful I highly recommend sitting for them!
Taylor and Patrick were amazing hosts, all three of their babies were absolutely wonderful and have great personalities! They were in constant contact with us for any questions we had and left me and my fiancé with detailed instructions on how to properly take care of their doggies. We definitely recommend their home and can’t wait to go back!
I had the pleasure of spending roughly 3 weeks with Bananas at the home of Pat and Bobby. I arrived late the night before their departure and they graciously welcomed me to their home. Pat was communicative throughout the process, leaving me with clear instructions of what to know/do (although Bananas was quite east to care for) I felt supported and very welcome in their home. Their home is in a great older neighborhood, lots of people taking walks with pets, kids, etc...I liked sitting on the front porch and saying hello to people on their evening walks. They are close to downtown nashville if you desire to visit that crazy scene (roughly 3miles) yet they are far enough away their area is very quiet. A great community to walk/bike around and not far from a variety of shops/stores/restaurants. Although I would suggest a car unless you like to take very long walks to find food but you can. There were 4 restaurants a little over a mile away and a green path, community center gym and tennis/pickleball courts less than a couple miles. I walked to all of them regularly. Bananas was a wonderful companion. She lets you know when she wants to go outside/inside, needs some running water from the tap, and despite being a bit older still likes to play with you on the floor at times. She is VERY snuggly in the evenings when you watch tv/movie and loves to lay on your chest or lap and often followed me around the house most of the time! (I had to learn to look at my feet at times!!) She bonded to me quickly and I enjoyed my time with her. Overall just a wonderful experience and I hope to return in the future.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jamal & his team at Jay’s K9 Universe! Lola attended a board & train program to work on her reactivity & impulse control. She’s a sweet dog, but VERY high energy & reactive to almost everything. She is now so focused, engaged in our training sessions & listens to commands the very first time. That is HUGE. Jamal also taught me how to clearly communicate with Lola so we can continue the work at home. With patience & consistent work, the issues that would cause so much stress are becoming more manageable. We’re not there yet, but Jamal’s training, workshops & pack walks are helping us along this journey. I am so grateful for everyone at Jay’s K9 Universe … this in just the beginning of our journey and a long relationship with Jamal & his team.
I cannot thank Jay and his team enough for everything they have done for my foster dog, Brick. Brick is a young boxer at only nine months old and came into my rescue with the most severe resource guarding I have seen. I felt lost and not sure where to turn to and reached out to multiple trainers. Jay was the only one willing to help. Brick did a four week board and train program and came back a totally different dog. A happy dog and a very well trained dog. He also use to walk horribly on the leash and would bite and attack the leash. He now walks like an absolute dream and I can take him anywhere. Jay has checked in on me almost every week to see how Brick is coming along after he left the training facility. You can truly tell that his team cares. They put a lot of dedication and passion into their work and it shows by the dogs coming out of this facility.
I brought my rescue pittie mix Penelope to Jay’s team for help with a little bit of everything. Penelope was one and a half when I got her, had anxiety, was selective with other dogs, pulled constantly on walks, had some leash reactivity, and had zero concept of boundaries around other animals and humans. Working with Jay taught me how to set, communicate, and reinforce a new set rules for Pen, and with lots of continued hard work and consistency, (cause you have to do the work too y’all), she’s almost a completely different dog. She walks beautifully, no longer jumps up on everyone she meets, greets other dogs, (and even cats!), politely, and obeys her commands well. The best part is that she’s still the high energy, fun-loving goofball she was when I adopted her, and her enthusiasm for life and everything in it is such a bright light in my day. I recommend Jay and his team to everyone I know who is thinking about training programs for their pooch.
Jamal and his team have done an amazing job with our little Lucy. She's a very nervous and timid dog that's never had any training. She came from a very bad situation and we were lost on how to help once we took her in. Jamal and his team addressed all of our concerns and after six weeks, Lucy has come back a different dog! Don't get me wrong, we have our challenging days, bc she IS a nervous pup! Also, Jamal will tell you from day 1 that they are NOT magicians! You will absolutely have to put in the work once your dog comes home, and when you don't... it shows! We try do work with Lucy every day. Missed the mark on some things but still keep at it and are having fun with her, finally! We'd highly recommend them!!!! Jamal is a wealth of knowledge and we're grateful he was willing to help us!
After adopting our third pup, Ella, she started to show signs of anxiety and became very reactive. Walks were extremely difficult as she’d try to go after any dog we saw, and she would start fights with my other female dog. It wasn’t safe for the two of them to be together and we had no idea how to manage them. For walks, we couldn’t handle how reactive she was and we would take her off leash on private land and “hope for the best”. Jamal completely changed our lives! Since her 8 week board and train, we’ve learned how to safely have Ella and Harper coexist with structure and management. Ella has been able to make so many new dog friends this past year, and we have been able to safely foster so many dogs, something I never thought we would be able to do. Jamal not only worked with Ella, but has taught me so much that I now have done with my other dogs as well as my fosters. Seeing the change in their life, their happiness, and the amount of freedom training has given them is life changing. Can’t recommend Jays K9 Universe enough and I’m so thankful to have found a trainer that puts the bond and best interest of the dog first.
Jay and his team did a phenomenal job with our 1-year-old Labrador Retriever Rufus. We had Rufus in the 4-week board and train program and the transformation from then to now is night and day. We look forward to bringing Rufus a couple times a week for day care. If you are hesitant about where to send your dog for training this is your place. We chose Jay's K9 Universe by just reading the Google reviews and we could not have been happier.
A wonderful organization ran by people that do not judge, are there to help you and your dog. Our dog, Athena, was in their 8 week program and has learned so much and has become more obedient and less responsive towards distractions. Not only that, we learned to be better owners to our baby. When we first went in, it was emotional, but the team at Jay's didn't judge us and instead offered their hand. They understand how dogs are our family. Through the weeks, we were updated with pictures, videos, and a weekly call to share her progress and were there to answer any questions we had. Though our baby is home, we understand that it's up to us to continue advocating for our dog and to keep up with her training. We can't thank Jay's enough for their dedication in helping Athena and us grow together.
About 2 years ago, we had adopted our pup, Bentley from a rescue. He was a bit of a wild child and we were having issues with reactivity and fear aggression. We tried to train him on our own, but only got so far. Our family had planned a trip in April of this year, and had to board both of our dogs. While at the boarding place, Bentley was being aggressive and was not allowed to be boarded at that particular facility. After speaking with one of the staff members at the boarding facility, she had mentioned Jay's K9 Universe. She told me that they work with difficult dogs and that they have board and training at their facility. I reached out to Jay's and Tayela had called me back almost immediately. My first interaction with her was wonderful. She was so nice and went through everything in great detail. Once I had made the appointment for Bentley's boarding, I had the pleasure of meeting Jamal. His calm demeanor helped the transition, and it also helped me be away from Bentley for those 2 months. He gave us weekly updates, and it was great to see how well Bentley was doing through Instagram After the two months were over, it seemed like Bentley came back as different pup. He was so much more even tempered and less reactive. He is also more disciplined when it comes to walking and listening to us. We have also used Jay's for boarding as well, and Bentley loves it. There are not enough words to show our gratitude. I would recommend Jay's K9 Universe to anyone who needs help with their dog
I bought my first puppy ever after coming back from an overseas deployment to have a companion to help deal with a lot stressors in life. Being that Storm, my American Bully, is my first dog she added to the stress lol. I was referred to Jay's K9 Universe from a friend and at 4 months old I dropped Storm off for puppy training. I am appreciative and grateful for all the time and training Jay and his staff put in to lay the foundation for Storm to be become an obedient, but still a very playful dog. I had no idea what I was doing on my own. I am still using the training tools they taught her and I.
After years of trying and failing to help my Holly girl through her anxiety and aggression I decided to take a big leap of faith and sign her up for Jay’s board and train program. Holly has struggled with severe separation anxiety, inability to be crate trained, aggression with men and other dogs, and anxiety being in most environments. With this training I figured I could look back and say I did everything I could to give her a good life. I am surprised daily since having Holly back home at how much she has changed and how well managed her anxiety and aggression have become. I feel confident going forward in supporting Holly’s progress and continuing to give her the life she deserves.
AWESOME place to take your dog for boarding, grooming, and/or doggy day camp! All staff and managers are friendly, knowledge, great with dogs and always eager to help! Very clean and well-maintained facilty! They also have boarding options available for cats as well!! 🐕🐈⬛ A++! Definitely recommend!!!
My pup has been staying with Best Friends for about 2 years now and I could not have higher praise for them. They know him by name every time. They are always so kind and helpful. He gets so excited to go and is always a little sad after I pick him up. I love knowing he is in really good hands and around people that genuinely care about him. I would recommend Best Friends to literally anybody! ((Also isn’t this report card just the cutest thing ever!!))
I’ve been taking my cat there for 4 years now whenever I go away for more than a few days. The staff knows him well and seems to like him which makes me feel so happy and secure about leaving him there! Thank you to the team for always being so great and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place if you need to board your cat!
We love it there! The staff are the best!! They are very friendly and take such good care of Charlie when he’s there and they treat him like their own! Anna the groomer always takes such good care of him and sends him home looking adorable!! 🥰 always have a great experience! …
My dog stayed at Best Friends Pet Hotel twice for a little over a month both times, and had an excellent time! He’s always very energetic, healthy and clean when I pick him up. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable and I feel confident leaving my dog in their care !
Love this place!! Aunt Anna our groomer, Uncle Jacob, Abbey, Ariel all are awesome!!! I don't trust my baby with anyone but I definitely trust him here!! They even have live cameras! Animals truly are family when they are there!
Excellent service for our senior dog Maxwell. Max is almost 9 years old and was living on the streets in AC before being rescued from a high kill shelter. He is an adorable Shih Tzu who loves to sleep! Best Friends recognizes his special needs and turns his grooming into a spa service that includes a nap. It certainly lessens the stress he feels! 💕
Anna is the best groomer ever! She is the dog whisperer because she has managed to become friends with my Yorkie Benny, who although adorable is not too friendly. How does Anna do it? Benny gets a fabulous grooming and any fears or hostilities he is feeling are put to rest. Thank you so much, Anna!!!! I have also boarded Benny at Best Friends. I feel comfortable leaving him there because I know he will be safe and treated well!
Best Friends Cinnaminson is the best place ever! Our pup Leela is a camper there, and boards whenever we go away - it’s her favorite place in the world. The staff are absolutely incredible and treat her like one of their own. She loves getting groomed by Anna and always comes home smelling so fresh and clean! We are currently looking for a house with (@perfriendlyrealtor) who we found at best friends - one of our primary search criteria’s are to be within 20 mins of camp because we couldn’t imagine life without it. 100/10 recommend!
First time leaving my pup and I was super nervous! the staff at Best Friends are awesome! I called a few times to check in on my pup and they were always happy to answer my questions. My dog was happy and looked so handsome after his grooming session when we picked him up. He was definitely well taken care of..can see it in his smile during play time!
