She was super easy to take care of and Shanna made our experience a breeze with her fast and helpful communication along the way. Shanna was also just a joy to interact with from a personal level too! I'm glad Trusted Housesitters made our lives cross paths.
Mary and Elliott are the most warm and amazing people, I feel like I've been practically adopted :-) They've extended every courtesy to me, and I can recommend them without reservation. Their house is beautiful, and it's just a lovely sit. Bones and Cornelius are gentle and friendly, and cooperative on car rides and walks. Their zip-up coats are a little easier for me to put on them, and you'll want to keep yourself in eyesight of Bones when in the Open Space, as her hearing is poor and she can't locate you by your voice. She will come from any distance as long as she can see you (waving helps). Cornelius hears well and will return when called. I found they can tolerate about an hour off-leash walk around the Open Space if time and weather allow. Both easy to feed, and meds go right into their food. The chickens are very friendly, can be shooed back into their coop, or picked up and carried back.
We so enjoyed our 3 weeks at your house Martin and Irene. Very comfortable and cosy and the garden is just gorgeous, although being winter we could not really sit outside but can imagine how nice it would be in the summer. Just loved your kitties, especially Molly, who I have to say, is the nicest cat I have ever met. Just loved her. The area is great to explore, so much to see and do. Our drive to Kelso was our highlight. The butcher in Wigton sells delicious pies and sausage rolls!! which coming from an Aussie is a great compliment!! Crown and Thistle was great for Sunday lunch. We feel so fortunate to have been selected to care for Zoey while Carol and Craig were traveling. Zoey is calm and sweet and made us feel right at home while in our care. Carol and Craig left instructions along with suggestions regarding Durango highlights. Their home is in a beautiful and secluded location, but also convenient to everything Durango has to offer. We rarely needed to contact Carol, but she was immediately available via text. Our room was extremely comfortable with plenty of storage space for our things. We highly recommend this sit if you get the chance. We hope to return again in the future.
This sit was a truly amazing experience! While Oscar is a rather particular old man, he will warm to you, especially while sharing regular "sniffy" walks in his local neighborhood. Oscar's home is nothing short of magnificent. Rich in history it is also surprisingly warm and welcoming for a house of it's size. Exploring local haunts, all within walking distance, proved to be a highly enjoyable pastime. I have also never seen so many "little libraries" within a stone's throw of one another. I would not hesitate to look after Oscar again should the opportunity present.
Cookie was a real joy to spend time with. The location was great and parking was really easy. Singdha was very accommodating from afar and helped with any questions I had regarding the building. Great stay and wonderful dog!
