I loved my three weeks in Ann's apartment, looking after Georgie and Dusty. The place had everything I needed and is in a very convenient location. It's a very quiet area and I had peace every night. The dogs were very easy to look after - always on their best behaviour for me, and they did things on my terms and around my schedule, which is the best you can ask for. Ann is a lovely, generous woman who couldn't have accommodated me any better. There's an equally lovely woman upstairs too, Clare, who's a friend of hers and who was always there to help with anything I needed during my stay. I'd have no hesitation in going back in future if I'm available and will have to make sure to see the two boys again in future.
Everything was great. Peter was there to welcome us on arrival and showed us exactly how the house worked. We quickly made friends with Bertie, who proved a delightful companion on our daily walks in nearby parks and on the beach. The home is in a beautiful location and we made the most of the local facilities, especially the adjacent golf club. We will treasure our memories of our house-sit at Torquay.
We had a lovely time in Santa Barbara doong this sit - beautiful house, lovely and easygoing pets, would highly recommend!
This is a fantastic sit which we highly recommend. Tim and Ally are excellent hosts who welcomed us with a lovely meal and interesting conversation! They are very kind and considerate and even took the time to put a Christmas tree and decorations up for us. Tim explained everything and ensured we were going to be warm enough. He was always quick and happy to answer any queries. The house is fabulous and we were given a lovely en-suite bedroom with an unbelievably comfortable bed. The downstairs has underfloor heating and two log fires so we had a very cosy Christmas. There are lots of interesting places to visit within a short drive. The house is surrounded by beautiful countryside and quiet country lanes, ideal if you like walking, especially with Peanut. Which brings me nicely onto the stars of the show. Peanut, the dog and Twinkle and George the cats. They are all very cute, well-behaved and really easy to care for as they all come and go through the cat flap. Peanut loves to be near you. George always tries to coax a drop more milk from you. Twinkle is mischievous but took a while to pluck up the courage to sit on our knees but when she did she was then reluctant to leave. Fantastic furries. To sum up - if this sit comes up don't hesitate to apply. Thanks Tim and Ally for choosing us.
Give up your gym membership if you come here. You will be so blessed to be here, feeding the pigs up on the hill in the sunset or mucking out the fields for the horses in the fields in the mists of dawn and yes, you can get even more exercise running after the escaped pigs if you want to, or engage with the next door farmers and enjoy their expertise with pigs as they bring them back. There is fresh pork in the shop freezer if you want to purchase, or organic vegetables in the garden. I recommend the leeks ! the dogs are adorable intelligent companions and keep you great company. The easiest was the chickens and ducks, who were laying well for the egg shelf in the shop. I had the most delightful bedroom, perhaps not changed since the 1620 when the house was built, and enjoyed cooking with the dual Ninja air fryer and making fresh bread in the bread maker. A great introduction to a small holding and the work behind the scenes. Don't miss this one if the dates fit for you around these rare breed pigs going to be shown at county level. Thank you so much, Linda, for organising me ! and to her husband, who taught me so much about pigs, watering systems, and shop management. What an experience.
Had a great stay at Katie’s place ! She has such a beautiful house and the location is great. You can walk downtown Erie ! Really good communication with Katie ! The dogs were so sweet and always ready for some cuddles ! So cat was also super friendly and loves to cuddle at night ! Thanks for everything !
