Laura
I had a wonderful time pet sitting for Laura! Her home is so welcoming, situated on a beautiful property with a garden and fenced in backyard for the pups to roam around in. Jack and Annie (Tessa was camping with Laura) are the sweetest pups! Jack will never leave your side and is always checking on you to make sure everything is good. He’s such a sweet boy. Annie is all about keeping the birds and squirrels in the backyard out of the garden — and she’s great at it! She loves to play fetch and loves pets (especially on her neck). They were so much fun to care for! The birds are super easy and have such lovely chirping noises! I spend time chatting with them multiple times a day :)

We had a great experience sitting for Hedy (Elisabeth) and Irv at their cabin in Chama, NM. They are very welcoming, interesting to talk with, and made us feel at home right away. Their dog Riley is super! He's loving, well-trained, great on leash, and fun to walk with among the pine trees under the Brazos cliffs. He sleeps in the living room while you'll sleep in one of the 3 guest bedrooms. Checking in on the horses in their pasture is really easy - just a quick drive by every other day. Great experience. Highly recommended!

Tess and Tala are delightful dogs, who made amazing company. Tess is a 4 month old pup, super loving and excitable and Tala 18 months, so perfectly behaved and sweet. They are great fun on a walk, soft and snuggly in the evenings and they love to play together. We sat as 2 people and we think this was wise due to their young dog energy! B-J and Matt’s home and garden is an amazing space to spend time and would work very well for someone who also needed to work from home while sitting. We really appreciated being invited to stay an extra day before they left to understand the house and get to know the dogs for an smooth transition. The location is just perfect, easy and safe walk to get to the common for dog walks, all the shops you need minutes away on the high road and great transport links if you need to go into town (but why would you want to leave these cuties?!). Thank you B-J and Matt for being so welcoming 😍

Alex
Alex had great communication and helped out with any issues or questions I had! Bob took a bit of time to get used to me, but after a few days he warmed right up! Had a lovely time in Belem.

Jane
I’m so thankful to Jane for allowing me to stay in her wonderful home with her precious babies! Pomeroy is such a gentle and loving dog. He never barks and appreciates being snuggled. Mladik is very food motivated, which makes him very easy to make friends with. I enjoyed having his warm presence on my lap while I worked. Anais is a free spirit and is easy to please. Her fur is soft and it’s difficult to resist petting her every time you see her.

The home is located in a village with everything a traveler needs. There are restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, a butcher, retail stores, a post office, a church, and more, all within a very short walking distance. The train station is literally at the end of the street. It will take you to other cities and villages in France. There is also is a gorgeous canal at the end of the village. It will take you 10 minutes to walk there, and you simply must have a meal or two there during the sunrise!

As a female solo traveler, I felt comfortable walking the streets anytime; day or night. There was never any moment, in a building or outside, that I felt unsafe. Every single person I passed, was friendly and open to engaging me in conversation. Although many people speak English, I was able to improve my French significantly.

Jane was a wonderful host, and I recommend housesitting for her. She introduced me to friends in the area so that I would have company and guidance. They took me out for several meals, to see a musical performance, and regular yoga classes. Jane even purchased a new bed for me to lay on to make sure I was extra comfortable! I’m really going to miss having her sweet babies snuggle up beside me as I work, and the delicious taste of the freshly baked goods from the bakery. A tip for anyone who is housesitting, make sure to get a frequent customer card at the bakery!
