Myself and daughter had an amazing time staying at Paul and EJ's lovely home and caring for their 3 cats. We were instantly greeted by Princess Tali upon our arrival whom soon wanted a good fuss and play after handover was given. Our first time sitting on trusted house sitter and what a great experience, Paul and EJ were on hand if I needed clarity over anything. It was good to catch up with Paul and EJ over skype prior to the sitting being confirmed (definitely recommend others doing this). We had some lovely moments playing with Tali and Toby (lots of purring and rather fetching theatrical leaps from Toby). We were aware Yeti was much more timid so allowed him to take his time but I had a lovely cuddle with him by the end of our stay. When we werent playing with the cats or playing a boardgame, we wondered out had a great sticky toffee pudding at Hyssops, Glossop as recommended (also great Sunday lunch!), found a farm shop, handmade crafts and a bike ride along the Longdendale Trail. All in all, an amazing time! My daughter is already missing playing and cuddling Tali and Toby.
We had a great time housesitting at Christines and Aris home! They are both super friendly, the communication was easy and they made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. And the cats are just lovely! They were fun to be around, really snuggly (once warmed up) and we spend a lot of time with them in the garden.
Hosts were very sweet and hospitable. Helped with all my questions at any time and gave us a comfy house and nice yard to hang and explore. Loved the fishies who were very well behaved and entertaining. Would totally sit again for these guys !
I had a wonder two weeks sitting for Genki, who is the most beautifully natured, intelligent and obedient Kelpie. Genki loves his walks and ball play and there are many beautiful parks In the area where we would walk 2-3 times a day where we could throw ball and play with other dogs. Genki's human parents Livingston and Miyako were wonderful hosts and thoroughly prepared me for the sit, with information on Genki and his requirements and details on the neighborhood. They made me very welcome in their beautiful home and I would thoroughly recommend sitting for the family.
Spending a week with Minka in Luzern near the lake was just too short! Bettina was super welcoming and made me feel at ease even before my arrival. She surprised me with a lovely dinner and home made bread. Bettina's home is super organised and clean and as Bettina left very clear instructions it was very easy for me to be the best caretaker possible. There was a complete guide and also detailed information about sightseeing and touristic attractions. The beautiful flow of communication throughout my stay made me feel truly appreciated. Minka is a real sweety: she is adorable and very well trained. It was hard to say goodbye to her. The apartment is located in a very peaceful, green area with superb mountain and lake view. The supermarket and the lake are at a 5 min walk and the center of Luzern is only a 10min bus journey away. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and highly recommend it!
We had an amazing sit caring for Ben, Vito, and the fish at Alison and Dan's house. Alison and Dan are incredibly friendly and generous people who were so invested in making sure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable sit while they were away, and they absolutely succeeded! From the treats they left specifically for us in the fridge to the toys, books, and dress up costumes that they set out for our kids, there were so many generous touches, and we could tell that they wanted us to feel like we were on vacation. Their house is gorgeous with so much charm, and you can literally feel the love in their home. Ben the pup was the sweetest dog who loved to be wherever we were, and we loved his fun personality and joyful demeanor. Vito the cat was barely seen during the day but would emerge at night for some love on his terms before disappearing again until the next night. Our kids felt like they were on a Vito-sighting safari :) We were lucky enough that we got to spend some time with Alison and Dan before they left and when they returned, and we loved getting to know them! Everyone we ran into who knew the couple raved about how amazing they are, and if you spend time with them, we think you'll agree-- just like we do!
