Dennis and Brenda were lovely sitters. Left the house tidy and stripped their beds. My pup enjoyed their company, was well cared for and got lots of love and pets. I enjoyed their time at the house, the great care they took, and their flexibility when I came home a tad early. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

JoJo and Doug were the sweetest and most well-behaved pups who made sitting for them a breeze. Doug is an early riser (5am, on the dot!) but makes up for it by being a total sweetheart. They both love to play fetch and Doug will swim with you in that gorgeous pool for hours. Kerin’s home is lovely and she was always quick to respond to any questions.
Even though I’m local, it was my first time spending time in Queen Creek. Do yourself a favor and go shop at that amazing Fry’s Marketplace and take yourself out to Aueen Creek Olive Mill.

I had a very good time at Kirstens place. The two cats are very sweet, especially Mimi is a cuddle monster. The flat is situated well in Wedding in a nice area with lots of bars and cafes and great connection to be in the city center fast. Her roommate Pernille is super cool, we had great talks in the kitchen. Really recommend this housesit! Thanks Kirsten :-)

Where do I begin?
MAJOR POINT: Her apartment smelled very heavy URINE. I really wish this site provides sharing photos and videos of the houses we visit. Please continue reading.

Very Beginning;
She told me to come very late like around 9 PM on the day I was going to move in. This late hour was very inconvenient for me because my friend was going to help and I had to arrange it according to my friend’s schedule. But Catherine didn’t even ask me if I’m able to do it that late or not. She gave me an excuse that her CLEANING LADY wasn’t done so she wanted everything to be clean and nice for me before I arrived. (Honestly I don’t know whether to laugh or cry) so she said come around nine or no later than 9 PM. I said OK well whatelse can I say? then when I went to the lobby at 9pm, the doorman called her apartment a few times for 10 minutes, she didn’t answer. She stood me there for a minimum of 10 minutes with my luggages and my groceries and the borrowed car parked outside illegally. Then finally when I went up, she said she was on the phone so she couldn’t answer the door. She was trying to be nice and friendly, so I didn’t say anything. And the smell of urine blocked my brain. The next day after she left very early in the morning, I realized that the house was extremely dirty and I don’t believe there was any cleaning lady even if she came, I don’t know what she did to clean the house… The dirt was like at least a month old and very dusty. The living room was smelling heavy urine. She told me that the dog is old and she pees on the carpets. However, that actually wasn’t the case. The actual horrible thing was, the cat’s litter box and the underneath mat. The litter box (not a usual one), a very different shaped one, had a red basin inside that was all cracked in the bottom. Apparently every time the cat peed, part of the pee passed the litter and went down from the cracked basin to the unusual shaped litter box and piled up. There became a pool with a color of brown smelling extremely bad. I almost throw up. Even public toilets don’t smell like this and are not dirty like this. I had to live with that smell for three days not knowing where it was coming from. I thought it was the dog actually peeing on the carpets.

If I hadn’t felt really bad for the pets, I was just gonna leave.

It took me two hours to clean and disinfect the litter box very carefully and the mat underneath. The litter was all over the area plus the mat hasn’t been emptied and cleaned for at least a coupe of weeks.

Also, after seeing the apartment that dirty, (dust and dirt acted up my allergies) on my first day, I vacuumed and mopped and dusted. My half a day was gone. I had to unload the vacuum three times. The only place that was actually clean was part of the refrigerator that she arranged for me to use and the bathroom. I also did the laundry washed the sheets and the towels.

Another thing that was really annoying was that she locked some of the kitchen cabinets before she left. I told her she didn’t have to do that because when you tell someone please, this is off-limits then person wouldn’t touch them. She said that “it is something she does” and “It’s not about you”. I don’t know what kind of experience she had before with other people, but that was just not nice.

The pets were lovely and friendly. The dog was very aggravated in the beginning so Catherine suggested that I give her trazodone and increase the dose. Poor Dog ended up sleeping all day. The cat was lovely minding his own business. Also wanted to play with me from time to time with his laser pointer.

The apartment is nice with a nice view and a big balcony. Very conveniently located. But like I said, if it was clean on my arrival night, dusted, vacuumed, and litter box & mat cleaned, and no URINE SMELL, then I would’ve appreciated the apartment.

Also, her pots and pans are very old and very scratchy. Not healthy for cooking.

The communication with her was not good either when she was away. She responded to me only twice in a week.

I thought I would give an honest review about the condition. I always get five stars with my sits an I have been giving 5 stars to the hosts. I have 9 references with all five stars. This is the only time I have given somebody 2 stars.
