Alonda is a very sweet gal and I know had the best of intentions in caring for both my cats however I returned home to both cats having lost a significant amount of weight. It turns out Alonda misread the instructions and only fed the cats half of their normal diet which caused them to drop a significant amount weight. I returned home and immediately had to rush them to the emergency vet. Neither cat is acting like themselves at all either and I can tell they’re quite traumatized from the lack of food. One cat also had belabored breathing to indicate stress and weakness. The vet was very concerned with the rapid weight loss and stressed that this can cause heart? Live and kidney damage. These are things we will not have to monitor ongoing. The emergency vet visit cost $1300 and I will be incurring more fees to take them in for checkups over the next month. I also allowed Alonda to take hair clients in my home, against my better judgement, as I returned home to a lot of hair all over the place, despite having someone in to clean. As a home and pet owner I am very detail oriented and left a full handout with information on the pets and home and it seems this was disregarded given the state of everything upon my return. Plants were improperly watered, some dying, the mail was never once brought in. Overall I am baffled at how this could have happened with the ample information provided. This could have been a lot worse but I’m grateful to have come home when I did as I fear I could have returned to a deceased animal.

Julie and Tim were awesome taking care of our three dogs and house for a week while were were out of the country. We only posted our needs about three weeks prior to our departure and luckily Tim and Julie live close enough (a one hour drive) that they were able to fit us in there schedule! Julie was even nice enough to make the trip down and back several days before so she could see the house and meet our cocker spaniels (who took to her immediately!). She had already studied up on materials I had sent her, so she was ready with questions and very organized. On our departure day they arrived a few hours after we left and on our return, we arranged for them to leave a few hours before our return so they could beat the traffic home. While we were away they texted us regularly with updates and photos and it was obvious the dogs and they were getting along well. We have one shy, insecure dog, who doesn't always take to new people, but he did just fine and competed with the others for lap space and attention! We live in a very hilly area but Julie and Tim are avid hikers so they enjoyed walking the dogs on our challenging roads and paths. We had some rain while away and the roof leaked a bit and the pool was threatening to overflow, both of which they contacted us about. They were even proactive and called the pool maintenance company just in case. On our return, the house was in perfect order, probably tidier than we left it, and linens and towels all washed, dried and folded, with beds made up. The dogs were happy of course to greet us, but since then, they have been looking around wondering where their new friends have gone! We were very lucky to find Julie and Tim and look forward to having them back! You will be lucky too if you engage them to take care of your pets and property!

Leo an incredibly sweet cat that we loved hanging out with. He’s friendly from the moment you arrive and takes very little time to warm up to full cuddles. He gets a little separation anxiety (very common for cats) and tends to pee on the bed, so we recommend keeping mattress liners on all the beds at all times. Tim & Clare sent some spray along that worked well for clean up. The apartment was spacious, conveniently located and I’m sure will be even nicer when the remodeling is finished. Clare and Tim were easy to coordinate with and we were able to figure out getting in and out easily even though we arrived a day after the previous sitter.

I’d noticed Dalmeny on my previous visits to Crammond and I’ve been interested in visiting for a while.
Chloe’s husband Malcolm welcomed me to their home and explained Millie’s routine. The estate is fantastic for walks with woods, beaches, the golf course and fantastic views just outside the door.
Millie walks very well on a lead and is fairly good off-lead but expect the odd diversion the beach. Around the house she is calm and friendly and became more and more cuddly during my stay. She does bark to let you know if someone approaches the house but because of the isolation this felt reassuring rather than a problem.
Chloe kept in touch and communicated very well.
The cleaner, Hannah, came twice during my stay, which I appreciated.
This is a great place for a retreat and to marvel how different the Firth of Forth appeared every day and Millie made a lovely companion.

Christine and Les are kind and welcoming folk who obviously love cats too. They very kindly picked us up and returned us to the airport as well as making us a delicious rack of lamb dinner. Their cats, plus ring in, were easy to care for and warmed to us fairly quickly. Getting around Petersham, public transport is easy with the train station close by and trains run regularly to the city. Supermarkets and other shops are also within easy walking distance for those without a car. Highly recommended.

This must be one of the jewels in the crown of house sitting opportunities! Chui and Kazi are handsome and engaging brothers, with very different characteristics, and so much fun to be with, as well as easy to look after. Gary and Gairn could not have been more welcoming and we instantly felt at ease in their beautiful home. They were extremely well prepared for house sitters so there were no nasty surprises or difficulties whatsoever - just lots of lovely ones! We found it very hard to leave. Those green thumbs for recommendation should be gold!

Great communication with Chris and Janet at the start and throughout ( email, FaceTime and WhatsApp)
Beautiful home , unique. Excellent position for exploring coast and country ( particularly the South west coast path)
Stars of the show were Harvey and Kenza, bright , engaging and very very affectionate dogs. Pleasure to spend time with them.
Would love to return sometime in the future.
