Jim and Valerie are wonderful people and responsible dog lovers. I'm so glad that every time I need a dog sitter, as if by a miracle - or a rule? - I find people with whom I click immediately and connect. In this case, it was the Canadian connection. They took excellent care of Romy, and said that he is adorable, even after experiencing a scare with him having swallowed a ball. Well, the incident enabled them to see how excellent the vet care in Catalunya is. Parting farewell with people like Jim and Valerie is always a sad moment. I wish them luck in their future sitting across Europe, and perhaps someday they may decide to settle in Southern Europe. I recommend them to anyone who would like their pet to become attached to the sitters from day one and to get sad the moment they leave.
It was great to have Steven and Ariel back to look after Finchley again, and he was very pleased about the arrangement too! Once again they were very caring with our house, left all spick and span, but more than that made a lovely soup and a tasty loaf of bread for our arrival home. They communicated with us regularly just to say that all was well, and that allowed us to really enjoy our holiday. We are looking forward to seeing them again next year.
Amanda, Eli and their daughter were amazing! They were able to make a last minute adjustment to their schedule to accommodate my early departure; they absorbed all the information and every detail about my "kids"! Skye (80 lb 1 yr old Great Pyrenese puppy) was totally enamored with Elisha and went from wild-child to gentle "service dog" temperament the moment she saw him. I came back to a wonderfully kept house with detailed synopsis of all the activities and their efforts. I loved that she sent me photos and small snippets during my travel. I had been worried as this was the first time I have been away from my kids. Cleo, my shy ghost cat, actually came out and joined them and even slept in the bedroom with them. All of them seemed to have a special connection Skye & Cleo who were not in the least bit stressed when I returned home. I would definitely ask them to come back in the future to house/pet sit me if they were so inclined. And I would strongly recommend them to anyone - especially those with rescue pets that have special loving needs. THANK YOU Amanda & Elisha!
