This was such a lovely pet sit experience in a quiet little town where I could get a lot of work done with Darwin in the high floor of the apartment building. There was everything I needed in the house, including a bike to use, and they left all directions for Darwin. I was so proud to finally get Darwin's attention, even if it was mostly at 5am with a lot of love! Long overdue review, but it really was such a great sit with a perfect kitty in a stunning location.
Anne & Émilien are truly the warmest, friendliest and most hospitable hosts we've met so far! We enjoyed getting to know them. :) Toto was such great company for us the 2 weeks we looked after him, and we miss him heaps. He's unable to be left alone for too long, so we brought him out with us whenever we could (and when we couldn't, they have lovely neighbour friends who readily help out). Toto is obedient and easy to manage whenever he goes out on his mini adventures with us, and adapts well to unfamiliar places. He's also the cutest! And so endearing and cuddly. Not to mention very attached - he would regularly try to ensure we are within close proximity, whether at home or outside, and that he hasn't "lost" us. At night he curls up on the bed with us and sleeps through to the morning without any fuss. Sometimes Toto shocks us with his sudden loud barkings - but for the most part we've been able to anticipate when he would howl & bark (e.g. when someone he doesn't know appears at his door, or someone in public approaches him in a way he feels intrudes his personal space). But right after that, he does quickly switch to being a cutie lovable doggo! He also loves his treats immensely, so it's been a good way to distract him or help him feel comfortable again. All in all, it's been such a joy & pleasure to look after Toto. We really look forward to getting the chance to see him & Anne/Emilien again!!
In just a short amount of time, I absolutely fell for Mango! He's incredibly sweet and needy, super playful, and loves a lap nap. Cari's home was super cozy and comfortable with all you could need. Cari herself picked me up from the train station and was very kind and friendly every step of the way! I had a wonderful time!
We had a great time hanging out with Lily, Mini, and Boris. Three cats with very lovely but different personalities. Lily is sweet but takes some time to warm up, Mini loves to play and cuddle, and Boris, once you've earned his trust, is just super chill. Lena was a superb host who made us feel right at home. Her place boasts a spectacular view, and everything you need to relax and enjoy the Spanish sun.
We love spending those days looking after Barney, Jess & Tommy. They are kind and very well trained, obedient and very beloved dogs. The Tommy cat is very calm, we hardly saw him, he would appear to open the window for him to enter and then go up to sleep. Maggie and Richard's House is wonderful, very spacious and cozy, they have lovely neighbors and super helpful! When we arrived she had made bread and marmalade for us, very attentive explained everything about the animals and the house. We would be back in a minute, thank you so much Maggie and Richard.
It was a pleasure sitting for Smokey and Sunny. The house was very clean and cozy and Sarah was excellent at communicating the needs of her pets and the house. Both of the cats are really friendly and easygoing. It's a GREAT location because you are right between Big Bear and Arrowhead so there are a lot of outdoor recreation activities you can participate in. I'd come back to sit in a heartbeat!
