David, Lisa, and their two beautiful girls welcomed us into their lovely home in the countryside. Their home is clean, bright, and set in a peaceful, quiet area. Everything you need is a quick 10 to 15 minute drive. The guest suite is separate from the main house, and very comfortable with plenty of room to unpack, and a nice deck to relax. There is also a large deck off the main part of the house where we spent a lot of time reading, and relaxing with the pups. David and Lisa are very kind, and considerate hosts. We had very good prompt communication with them, and they left us a detailed manual which is always appreciated. We were there when the garden was thriving so we had fresh tomatoes, herbs, and greens throughout our stay. Bowie and Freddie were a joy to take care of, and brought us many laughs. Bowie is a character, and Freddie is a little more reserved. They are well trained, and love to play in their expansive yard....they basically have their own private dog park. We loved taking them for walks around the neighborhood. We are going to miss these pups! We highly recommend this house sit, and we hope we will be invited back.
I call myself very lucky that I recently had the opportunity to look after cutie Herbie for Helen in North London for one week. Herbie is a very relaxed, easy-going and independent cat who's happy napping most of the day, but he can also be really energetic and playful and likes playing sessions with his toys and the laser pointer, mainly in the evenings. Herbie is also quite cuddly, and his loud purrs left no doubts he enjoyed his back and belly rubs during our regular cuddle sessions on the sofa (and sometimes in bed). :) On the day the house sit started, I briefly met Helen before she left for her trip. She's a very nice, hospitable and welcoming person, and she showed me around her place and explained Herbie's routine to me. Our communication before, during and after the house sit was always perfect. Furthermore, she's living in a cozy and bright apartment that stretches across 2 floors in a great location in Finsbury Park, with the local high streets, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, public transport and nice parks all in walking distance. The apartment itself has all amenities you could ask for including reliable wifi, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, a nice guestroom with a comfy large bed, a lovely balcony to enjoy the sunshine, etc. ... To make a long story short: I highly recommend any fellow house sitters to stay with Herbie if you get the chance! Thank you for the great house sitting experience, Helen! I really loved looking after Herbie and can't wait to return should there be another possibility! For now, all the best! :)
