We had a wonderful time in Scott and Charlotte's home. It's a lovely home with beautiful surroundings and a view from every window. The guest room was comfortable and clean, and had an ensuite. Digby was a joy to look after and so well-trained. He was very excitable and had loads of energy but happily sat down when when kept inside so that the chickens could come out for a bit. And he kept my husband company while he was working in the shepherd hut (a great home office set up, by the way!) The chickens laid delicious eggs for us and were easy to put away after they'd had an hour or two to roam about. Scott and Charlotte are friendly and relaxed. Some communication was slow, but this wasn't a problem as everything had been explained properly. And we appreciated the tips for paddling spots.
When I met Jessica for the first time, she showed me around and explained everything to me. And she was nice enough to drive me back home; which was really far from her place. During the sit, our communication was a breeze. I had the pleasure to sit her pretty senior dog, Triscuit, unfortunately she is deaf and blind, and she is now an indoor dog due to her conditions, so she is more of a cat than a dog really. I was very amazed by how self-sufficient she is considering her age and conditions, she knows her way around the apartment, so she basically needs food, water and lots of love. I also had the pleasure to sit her adorable social cat, Maui, who's a bundle of love and affection. I think she thinks she is a baby human because she definitely acts like one, LOL. she likes to be carried like a baby and she will give you lots of hugs in return. Jessica's place was a huge bonus, her apartment is in a condo building on a high floor, so you get an amazing view of the city. And the building has gym, pool, a pub and a cafe. It is only few minutes walk to skytrain and it is also right at the front of lougheed mall. Thanks Jessica for everything and kisses to Triscuit and Maui. I will sit for Jessica again in a heartbeat.
John and Cecilia are absolutely lovely, always available if there's any issues and made it easy for me to settle in. I hade a great time with the 3 dogs and went on gorgeous walks every day. The area around the house is really quiet and I rarely saw anyone, which I loved. I would definitely sit for them again and really appreciate their positive reinforcement training approach. Recommend!

Kathryn had the unenviable task of trying to tame our wild beast of a cocker spaniel puppy, Rupert! Kathryn came to my rescue when had been let down and needed someone at short notice to look after 2 dogs whilst at a wedding . Instantly i felt the dogs would be in safe hands kathryn came for a meet where we were staying and as soon as i met her that confirmed she was the right person to leave the dogs with and that they would be safe and well looked after . Which they definately were . We were kept updated throughout the day with photos and mesages to say how the dogs were . I can highly recomend kathryn to anyone looking for someone to look after their pets .

Ruth and Denis run an excellent kennels - a great 5 star hotel break for Ella, our beautiful Bearded Collie, when the occasion arises. Ella arrives with delight, tail wagging, as we drive up to the main gate - and when we come to collect her she's happy because she loves us but it's obvious that she's had a really good time in her holiday home. It's important to know that there is a place such as Joppa which you can trust to look after your dog.

Our two dogs had a brilliant time, from when we dropped the off to collection we felt safe in the knowledge that they'll be looked after. Our eldest hadn't been kennelled for over 8 years so we were a little worried he might not settle, but he had company so we didn't feel to bad. The owners made us feel welcome, easy to find. Only constructive criticism I would say is to have a buzzer on the gate and let cars in rather than park in the gate area, luckily no one was behind us as no room to park 2 cars.. Plus lane is narrow. The main thing is our dogs came back fur and healthy so all good. We'll use them again if we need to...
