This was my second time having Francesco at my home and just wow, what a gift he is. I feel so grateful to have crossed paths with him. When I set up the sit, I had my two cats and one foster. One foster turned into two at the last moment and Francesco was so kind about the change in plans. One of the new foster kittens is very shy and I imagined that she would hide under the bed the whole week. I should have known better. Francesco sent photos of her out the very first night. His calm energy and gentle spirit made her at ease immediately and she made incredible progress in her socialization while I was away thanks to him. I never had to worry because Francesco checked in so regularly with wonderful photos and videos. He figured out quickly that sending a video of them all eating together was just the thing to ease my mind. I was able to see that everyone was relaxed, feeling good, and healthy. I came home to an immaculate apartment (better than I had left it) and FOUR happy cats. Thank you a million times over, Francesco, I feel like I won the lottery!
Lindsay was lovely. She was reliable,a good communicator and totally comfortable and comforting with Bugsy. That traitor(Bugsy) even laid on her chest which he NEVER DOES. WTF!!! I highly recommend Lindsay.
It was so lovely to meet Cathy and Keith, having received excellent communication from them since the sit was booked early in the year. They welcomed Libby and me warmly and we all enjoyed a relaxed chat and a delicious meal the evening before the sit began. We very much appreciated Cathy completing a vet authorization form AND lodging it with her vet in case of an emergency visit. Cathy and Keith have a very comfortable home set in beautiful surroundings – large garden, vegetable beds, field and woodland with a pond and shack to relax by. We enjoyed just sitting outside on the patio, basking in its beauty. There is a view from every window! We had everything we needed, including separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Storage space was available in the fridge, freezer and bedrooms for our items. The house was well set back from the busy road so noise was minimized. Daisy and Maisie, their two rescue cats, are shy of strangers. With quietness and patience, we developed their trust, so much so that they allowed us to stroke them, usually at mealtime. Maisie even relaxed for belly rubs out in the sunshine! With the fine summer weather, they spent much of their day and evening outside but did sleep inside at times. “Goosey” and “Gander” were the first geese we had looked after. Cathy had clearly explained their routine in her Welcome Guide but we appreciated seeing what needed to be done the evening we arrived. We became very adept at fending off Gander’s advances with the garbage bin lid when letting them out of a morning and feeding them in the evening! They were actually quite entertaining and became used to us walking along the driveway as they didn’t bother to honk at us! With the weather turning warm, we needed to water the vegetable garden, tomatoes in the greenhouse and outdoor pot plants every second day. We enjoyed the fresh beans, peas and broad beans! By accepting us as their sitters, Cathy and Keith made it possible for us to spend quality time with cousins and my goddaughter and we very much appreciated this. It also gave us time to visit Great Dixter House and Gardens and the popular town of Rye. We already were familiar with this part of Kent but for those considering applying, there are many attractions to be explored from here. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting for Cathy and Keith and can easily recommend it to others.
