Emma and Bruce took on our house and three energetic English springer spaniels for just over a year from 23rd November 2022 until 1st December 2023 (with a break in August 2023) and we could not be more delighted with the way they took care of everything. As their ratings show, they are excellent in all the areas you would wish for but, more importantly, they are especially lovely people and we have really enjoyed getting to know them a little on our fleeting visits home. They were respectful and kind to other staff helping in the house and garden and were completely self-reliant, sorting out any small issues and only raising questions when absolutely necessary. In short, they ran the house better than I do! Bruce and Emma formed a wonderful relationship with Fig, Noodle and Bean and they were extremely well looked after. Sadly Fig's arthritis got the better of her in May (aged 13) and, having consulted our vet, Bruce and Emma made sure they kept us informed so that we could plan to be home when she was put to sleep. This was a sad time for all of us but Bruce and Emma were very thoughtful and respectful about it, particularly as they were also quite upset to lose her. When it came to our handover on the 1st of December the house was immaculate and it felt as though we'd never been away, which is again testament to Bruce and Emma's thoughtfulness - even though it was technically their home for the year, everything was left as they found it. We had planned some quite extensive improvements to the garden whilst we were away and Bruce contributed hugely to making sure everything went smoothly, as well as coming up with some very helpful and practical ideas! The sit really could not have gone better from our point of view and we will be forever grateful to Bruce and Emma. We will also keep in touch and hope they might come back and stay again in the future.
