Barbara's home was such a beautiful oasis in such a lovely historic neighborhood in Brooklyn. She was very kind, clear on instructions, and generous with her home. She set us up in a very comfortable room and bed. Iggy and Baby were such a joy to care for and were pretty low-maintenance. Iggy loved to follow us around the house and talk to us until he got his cuddles and attention. Baby was less demanding of attention but very sweet. I appreciated the consistent communication we had throughout the stay and if something came up, one of her sons lived nearby and was super kind and helpful. She also had a cleaner come twice a week, who was also very helpful with picking up things we might need for the cats. It was nice to have her around in such a big house. Overall, it was such a great and unique experience to spend time in Barbara's beautiful home. If you get a chance to stay at this oasis with Iggy and Baby, I would highly recommend it!
We stayed at Gabrielle and Richard’s lovely home for 5 days to look after their dog Rajas. We met them and their children briefly before they left on their trip and they were extremely warm and friendly. Rajas is a beautiful collie/labrador cross and very loving and endearing. He is still quite young and boisterous and loves to play. The park is about 10-15 walk from their house and is the perfect place to exercise a dog who loves to run and explore - with extensive meadows and shady wooded paths by a river it was really a beautiful place to walk. The bus into the city centre took about 30 mins and is pretty frequent and so we were able to explore Bristol during the day. The local area of Fishponds had a good high street and lots of cafes and bars and essential supermarkets.
I spent a very enjoyable week in Joanna and Henk's beautiful home looking after their pets. My daughter Karen also spent a few days with me helping out. We arrived the evening before to get used to Santana as I hadn't really cared for a horse before. We were given a fantastic welcome by Joanna,Henk and their daughter Freddy.communication with Joanna was fantastic both before and during the sit. The pets were lovely and very easy to care for. They were very friendly and all of them enjoyed human company.Santana was also easy to care for ( feed him a couple times a day, take him out to the arena for a few hours each day and give a clean out of his stable).i would highly recommend a pet sit here to anyone and would definitely return. Thanks Joanna, Henk and Freddy.
Wow, what a wonderful sit! Pets, location, pets,.location, pets, location! And Claire! First of all the pets, they are adorable. Pato, like all cats is very independent, finding hiding places to snooze away, and then easing her way onto your lap when you sit down. Rex is a big boy but very zen, Jamon is a happy little girl always looking to please you. Like Pato, happy to sleep all day, and then they get very excited when it is time for a walk. That brings me onto location. Claire's apartment is in a very nice active part of town, a suburb Cusco style. Not a suburb American style with gardens in front, but an area built on a traditional Inca layout, with narrow passages, some big enough for a car, and lots of little parks, each with a myriad of plants and flowers. They are very safe to walk along. Rex and Jamon loved walking along these passages, and. to mention, they are very well behaved dogs, never bothering people or other dogs. Location! It's very easy and cheap to get into the center of Cusco, buses go from outside Claire's apartment and there are a lot of taxis. If you are reading this, you are most likely already excited about the prospect if a sit in Cusco, the most historic city in South America, surrounded by the most incredible scenery. Now the host! Claire is great! Even if she provided a very detailed Welcome Guide, she gave us a very thorough rundown of her apartment and pets requirements, and then a very comprehensive walk through the neighborhood, pointing out shops and restaurants, etc. We loved this sit, and so will you! Thank you Claire for letting us live your life a few weeks. Wow! What a great sit!
Communication with Jane was smooth and easy and the location of her place is quite central, so easy to get to from the train station. Jane introduced me to lovely people in her life/neighbourhood, who were there for me if I needed anything. Darling Smudge was very easy to look after, we bonded pretty quickly! She is a timid cat who needs several days to relax around you but 3 days in she was already sleeping in my bed and 3 weeks later she was lying in my lap. Patience and lots of love (and food!) work wonders with her. Thank you for this opportunity, it's been a pleasure!
Taking care of Charlie was super easy. Charlie is a sweet boy who is well trained. He loved to cuddle with me on the sofa and stayed out of the way when I was cooking in the kitchen. The arctic weather during walks didn't bother him. I had a great time hanging out with this gentle soul. I enjoyed exploring the neighborhood too. I recommend checking out Spicy Basil and Queen City Collective Coffee. Paul and Kerry's home was very comfortable. It was a great experience.
