Kate and Myron were the perfect house/dog sitters! Clean and tidy, organized and friendly. My dog loved them. Daisy got to go on lots of long walks together with them no matter what the weather. They took excellent care of my home, and left it as clean as a whistle. Highly recommend to any home/pet owner.
What a great sit this was. Clare is very well organised and the house was left clean and tidy for us. The garden is large and very secure so easy to let the dogs out knowing they are safe whilst you sit down relax for a little while. The stars of the show were Dougie and Crumble. What amazing dogs they are, very well behaved, and it was a pleasure to walk them as you know their recall is excellent. They are both really good natured and like to be close to you. Most of the time we took them out in the car so we could walk around the various woods as they are much better off the lead. We would recommend this sit to anyone who is able to drive 5 minutes to the local forest. Winchester is not far away and a great place to wonder around for a couple of hours leaving the dogs at home.
I usually judge a sit by People, Place and Pets. People - I met Liz and David online who were open and friendly, explaining their pets needs and preferences. They very kindly left some fabulous wines and a thank you card so obviously have great taste and good manners. Place - I took over from a previous sitter, and the house was clean and tidy. Their house is very close to the beach and I took many lovely walks along the foreshore and around the local streets looking at the changing neighbourhoods. Bournemouth beach is the best beach I have been to in the UK. Include a comfy bed and an ensuite - perfect. Pipi, the older dog, is now fully incontinent and probably has dementia. However, she has a lovely nature and is happy to spend time together being patted while sitting in the sun. She did need help settling down to rest and I needed to clean up after her. Whiskey, the younger dog, is incredibly smart and I was sad to not have more time with her as she probably has agility/hunting skills waiting to be developed. She was fun to spend time with once she realised I wasn't going to let her boss me round, and I think she is absolutely fabulous. I recommended this sit.
We were a bit surprised when asked to sign a contract, but given the length of time we were looking after Cliquot and Perrier it only seemed fair. They are the most characterful kitties we've ever had the pleasure to look after. We enjoyed staying in Sarah and Andy's comfortable place and of course enjoyed a very tasty meal together. We'd love to help again!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Megan and Eric’s home In Chiang Mai. They live in a trendy area nearby all the coolest bars and restaurants. Their home is spacious and comfortable with everything you would need for a pleasant stay. We absolutely adored their precious pets Layla and Ike who were both very sweet and loving. Layla was such a cuddly girl and followed us around the house like a little shadow. She just wanted to be nearby and loved strokes and would happily play in the garden if there were any treats on offer. Ike held out on us for a few days but in the end his obvious sweet nature shone through and he would give the best cuddles and head bumps. He loved his tiny mouse toy and would carry it around the house and made us laugh sitting at the dining table like a little human at dinner time. Both Layla and Ike were a pleasure to take care of and were no trouble at all. We would be happy to return and sit again.
I had a fantastic experience house sitting for Jill and her pack of Irish Wolfhounds, Plum, B!, and Crispie in Durango, high in the mountains with a stunning view. The dogs were a joy to take care of - they were well-behaved, friendly, and full of energy. The location of the home was nearly 2,000’ above Durango, with a great view. I felt completely at home during my stay, and I have to say that Jill was an excellent host. She provided clear instructions on the care of the dogs and was always available to answer any questions I had. I would highly recommend this house sitting opportunity to anyone looking to spend some time being part of a wolf pack, howling in the mountains.
