Ghost and Dinky and Mouse are full of personality and very affectionate, always wanting to cuddle and play, which I loved. They are delightful companions.

The apartment is cozy, convenient to trains into London (about an hour to go most places), safe and quiet which are all important to me.

Communication with the host was readily responsive via text, however having clearer guidelines with more detailed information in one place up front would have been helpful.

Mouse did struggle with her house breaking habits and this required clean ups 1 to 4 times each day, even with regular walks, which was frustrating for this conscientious sitter.

Although the place is cozy, it could use repairs (working kitchen light, fixed toilet seat), a declutter, purge, organization and deep cleaning to feel really homey.

This is such a relaxing sit! Jack is an incredibly well-behaved and calm Labrador. He is immediately friends with anyone he meets. He is a pleasure to walk — and is fondly known throughout his safe, quiet, and very walkable neighborhood. Vanessa and Matt are extremely easygoing, friendly, and welcoming. Communication was great from start to finish. Their expectations are simple, and Jack’s routine is really simple (but he’s so much fun to take on walks, and the weather was so wonderful, I found myself doing up to 3 a day just for the joy of it). He sleeps in the living room when not on a walk or hanging outside with you in the serene, fenced garden spaces that surround the house. The sitter stays downstairs in a simple but nice guest room, with a very comfortable bed and nearly empty closet. There was so much room for all my stuff! Jack is such a champion sleeper—and has his own large dog bed in living room—that you truly have the guest room to yourself at all times. The clean and tidy guest bath is right across the hall. The kitchen and living room have all you need, but be aware it’s a small, older home. I live in a small, older home myself so I found it familiar to navigate and easily made myself comfortable for the 7-night sit. Note: the guest bedroom and bathroom were more inviting, tidy, and uncluttered than the current photos on listing show. When Vanessa posted the listing in Dec. 2023, she was in the middle of rearranging things. Also worth noting: there is a long-time tenant in a stand-alone cottage in one corner of the backyard. He enters/exits the property from the side gate alongside the garage. He works full time and we never crossed paths. I definitely recommend this sit caring for a sweet and easygoing dog where you are just a few minutes driving distance (or a bike ride) to the beaches / cute towns of Aptos, Soquel, and Capitola!
