We had such a wonderful stay at Ann & David's beautiful home in Magnolia. The dogs Houndsley and Bergen are such sweeties, very easy to care for. We enjoyed many long walks, and just hanging out with them too, they loved to be where we were at all times. The cats Clover & Millie are delightful too, they would come snuggle with us on the sofa each morning. Ann & David made us very welcome, clearing out closet spaces, and room in the garage for our bikes, and lovely touches like fresh flowers, and very detailed information about the pets, and the area in general. The views from their home are spectacular, we so enjoyed watching the cruise ships, ferries and all the boating activity on Puget Sound. A truly wonderful introduction to the Seattle area!
I had a great time looking after Buddy. Scott and Anna welcomed me to their cozy home (Scott was kind enough to collect me from the train station), and Buddy took to me immediately—to be sure, that says more about Buddy than me, as he's just a super friendly and sociable cat. He's even got a cat door to let himself in and out as he pleases, so the indoor litter box doesn't see any use. Scott and Anna live in a great area; residential, but less than a 10-minute walk to supermarkets and even a fish ’n chips shop. The Bath city center is about a 40-minute downhill walk, but there is also a convenient bus that you can take instead. As someone who'd never visited the area before, I found the location to be a great way to live like a local with all the touristy stuff within easy reach. Communication with Scott and Anna was clear and consistent both before and during my time there, and I would highly recommend taking care of Buddy.
Melanie is a fantastic host. We had our own cottage on the property with our own kitchen and bathroom. A wonderful place to spend time and get some work done. She went out of her way to make sure that we had everything that we needed and responded to questions really quickly. Monty was a pleasure! Such a kind and loving dog. He was wonderful to take for walks and play with in the garden, but equally happy to relax with us while we worked or watched television. No trouble at all, a very amiable dog. The property itself is in a great location for things to do. We especially enjoyed going for a day our in Chester and exploring the old city which was less than a 30 minute drive away. Highly recommend this lovely, relaxing, house sit!
