Mike and Kim are the sweetest couple and Alex and Annie are just as sweet. Their home is amazing, great location close to downtown Black Mountain with all kinds of great restaurants, shopping and breweries. The kitchen has everything you need to make fabulous meals, and the hot tub on the deck was great for evening relaxing. Alex and Annie are very calm dogs, except when a stranger comes to the front door, but that's just them guarding the home. I would absolutely recommend this sit to anyone, you will not be disappointed!!!
Francois is a very easy going cat, he instantly welcomed us and really seems to love human contact. Frequently throughout the day he would seek us out, either inside or out, to get a little cuddle or play time then resume he’d his adventures. He is very entertaining when in a playful mood but also very happy to spend time on laps gently purring. Stephen’s home is beautiful and is in a great setting for hiking or just relaxing. Stephen made us feel very comfortable and communication before and during the sit was easy. Healdsburg, a few minutes drive away, not only is full of wineries and restaurants but also has a summertime “Tuesday Concert in the Square” from 6 to 8pm - a delightful way to spend an evening. Steps up the road from Stephen’s home is the trail-head for an energetic hike (1.5 miles each way, the trail has an average 9% grade with some sections a 27% climb/descent) to the top of Fitch Mountain with it’s great views, also with several seating areas it’s a beautiful spot to take a lunch picnic. This was a wonderful few days with Francois and we would love the chance to care for him again.
Siobhan & Matt gave me such a warm welcome and I really felt like I was “home away from home”. We met the day before the sit so I could be introduced to Ruby & Georgie as well as receiving all instructions for a smooth stay. The flat itself is stunning and the location perfect, with many local shops, restaurants and sights to see close by. Ruby is the sweetest and we had our routine of morning coffee & cuddles & evening snuggles on the sofa. She is a little lady who (once she is comfortable with you) has a loud voice when she wants treats or attention. Georgie is a lovable cheeky chap who loves attention, chatting and being near you or on you whenever possible! I was never lonely with Georgie. I had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for more from the family. Thank you again for trusting me with your kitties and your beautiful home. I would go back anytime!
Nicky and John are both wonderful humans. They were always readily available with prompt communication whenever questions/concerns arose, and made us feel truly welcome in their beautiful, comfortable home. We were lucky to enjoy the apples and veggies in the garden, which was a treat! Layla and Sierra absolutely won our hearts over. They made us laugh on the daily with their funny antics, and were so sweet to cuddle with on the couch. We already miss them very much! The sit involved some problem solving as Sierra had a food allergy complication, but the support from Nicky and John made it all manageable. We would highly recommend this sit, with a few things in mind -- Since Layla is reactive toward other dogs, it is important to be vigilant and strong to keep her restrained. We never interpreted her activation as aggression, moreso over excitement, but she does need to be held back and dogs should be avoided. If possible, having access to a car makes the more natural areas, which are very worth seeing, accessible. Very grateful for the weeks we got to enjoy with Sierra and Layla! 😊
A lovely week with Coco in Gloucestershire. As we live in the area, we met everyone prior to the booking and we immediately knew it would be a great petsit. Melanie and Miles are super friendly and welcoming. The Welcome Guide is thorough and very helpful. Additional information supplied on arrival. Communication before and during the sit was great. Coco is a petite, sweet -natured, placid girl. We bonded straight away! Whilst most of her time is usually spent playing in the garden, we took her to many new environments and on new walks, for her own little holiday ;) Coco was relaxed during the night on the bed, in our car, at our house, at the pub, and cafe. She is happy with late sleeps ;) She loves to sit on laps when out and about. Coco snoozed on the sofa when back at home and loved to cuddle. Her meal routine is easy to follow. She has lots of toys and enrichment activities. A little nervous of loud noise, strange, larger dogs, she was relaxed with our friend's dogs, both large and small. Coco is energetic on the lead. We did not let her off the lead as we were told her recall is not 100%. It is also important to keep her safe within the grounds - to be vigilant that the entrance gates are closed at all times, before letting her outside. Melanie's beautiful country home is modern, newly renovated, clean and tidy. Very spacious home, lovely patio and gardens to enjoy. Sitters have double guest room, ensuite with garden & scenic view. All linens and towels provided. Efficient external Security, including easy to use, house alarm. The location is close to M4/M5 motorway links. A Village pub 5 minutes walk and other country pubs a short drive away. Country walks are a 10 minute drive. Highly recommended for a lovely stay with a super sweet pup. Andrea and John were absolutely lovely and welcomed us to their gorgeous home. Gordon is amazing, you wouldn't believe he's 13. He loves nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa. Only 25 minutes into liverpool cehtre on the train and 15 minutes walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend this sit.

Tom and Lois are fantastic! We have been using them for the past five years to watch our cats. Charlie loves going to the dog park and hanging out with his other dog pals. They have done a great job watching our cats over the years and now also watch Charlie when we go out of town. The absolute best. I first met Lois after a traumatic event with one of my 2 dogs with a previous walker and she sat with me and them, made the connection, and clearly truly loves them as I do. Working with Lois and her team has been amazing. We have a reactive dog who can be a handful. But Lois is a pro and took the time to discuss our dogs history and meet her in person. She's also got an amazing team who all are experts at handling reactive dogs and are all great to work with! Our dog now has a group of new trusted friends who make sure she gets outside during the day. Definitely recommend.

Have been coming here for years. Staff are always happy and helpful. Both our dogs love it and always come home happy, exercised, and enriched. I know my dogs are always safe while at daycare because someone is always with them. Also while they are boarded because someone is there overnight with them. Not many places offer that, I’m so glad they go above and beyond. They treat your pets like family!
We love Pete and Macs! Our husky Boomer can't wait to go to day care each week. The staff takes care of him like their own and we are so grateful to have this wonderful home away from home for him to be cared for and hang with his other dog friends!
I have been using Pete and Mac's for a couple years now for boarding. I recently boarded my elderly dog 14+ years for about 11 days because of a family trip. I never had issues prior to this and although I was nervous I trusted that he would be in good hands. When I picked him up his nose was bleeding on top which has happened before when he was crated. I noticed he was also not able to open his right eye. I waited a few days and the eye became much much worse, cloudy and pussing. I took him to the vet and it has now been over $350 and counting for his eye due to a laceration. When I called Pete and Mac's they explained he was as trying to get out of his crate and needs a noodle. They did not offer to pay for my vet bills and I feel like this is negligence and that they should have done a better job watching my dog. I still have another follow up visit and I am guessing that this will be close to $500+ for me!!! I already spend my vet $550 to board him! I usually never complain but this is something I feel should have been compensated. Needless to say I will not be using Pete and Mac's again.
Darby loves going to Pete & Mac's in Palatine for daycare! And for me, it is good to know that while Darby is having fun, he is also safe because Pete & Mac's has a maximum capacity of dogs in the daycare room each day and they are also good with their vaccines protocol. Pete & Mac's is also helpful and accommodating to us. There were a few days we had to board Darby urgently and they were able to take him on a very short notice.

Our dog goes crazy if we say "Doggy Daycare?" He can't wait to see his freinds and run & play. He gets lots of playtime in the morning and afternoon, he has his own good sized pen to hang out in, rest and eat when he's in his down times. They take great care of him. It's super clean and the staff seems to really love the dogs they care for...they know our dog well and that he loves snuggles. He comes home happy, clean and wiped out. :) We checked out a lot of places in Palatine and this one was a step or two, above the rest.
I am so happy with the care my babies received at Pete and Mac’s. They even each got a bath before coming home. I will definitely utilize this facility in the future. I was so worried initially but now? I’m very comfortable and know my babies are safe and taken care of. Thanks to all the great staff for dealing with my calls and being kind.
This was the first time I have ever had to board my dog at a facility and I will admit that I was pretty nervous bringing my dog here. She does not do well with other dogs so I was very happy to see they have options for dogs like my own, as well as 24/7 supervision in the building (most boarding places do not do this). I cannot stress enough how incredibly happy I am that I brought my dog here! She was perfectly fine going to boarding area when we said our goodbye (didn't even look back), and was her normal happy self when I picked her up. She showed no signs of stress when she got home. The staff was even kind enough to call me the next day to check and make sure my girl settled in at home fine. I highly recommend this place if you have a dog who isn't dog friendly, they will be in good hands! Harli-Quinn and I are both looking forward to the day we come back.
We are really happy with Pete & Mac's for our dog! I think they do a nice job keeping the dogs safe but allowing them to get a full day of playtime! It also seems clean and staff is friendly!
Pete and Mac’s is such and awesome place to take your fur baby’s .I have two that go five days a week and they treat them like family all the staff is so caring.they are always willing to help honestly they helped me out of a very difficult situation and through it all I always new my baby’s couldn’t be in a better place . I read a review from someone who gave them 1 Star I believe they should get ten out of ten I tell everyone to take your fur baby’s to Pete and Mac’s you won’t regret it I love them ❤️
We’ve had a great experience with Home Away From Home. Laura and her family treat our little guy Winston like their own, making him fresh food, letting him run free in the house, and just basically providing the royal treatment. He’s a pretty happy dog but some of his happiest moments are arriving there to see Laura and the dogs, quite literally leaping out of our arms with excitement. We’re so thankful for the times and memories he’s had/continues to make with them.

We have been taking Archie to Laura for about a year now and could not speak highly enough of her! Archie absolutely LOVES going to Laura’s house. Laura is so attentive and sends updates during his stay which we always enjoy receiving. She does a great job of grooming him at the end of his stay as well. We always know he is happy and well taken care of when we are away, which is such a great feeling to have when away.
Laura has been taking care of my dog for the last 3 years. My dog is always on exited to go and she comes home happy! It gives me great peace of mind having Laura taking care of her when we are out of town!
We have been taking our Bernese Mountain Dogs to Laura for 10+ years. First Chelsea and now Leo. They LOVE her and her family. Both my dogs would get excited when we turn down her street and into her driveway, so I know they’re happy to go for a short visit or a long vacation. Goose has been staying with Laura while we are out of town for almost 3 years now! He LOVES staying with her family so much his tail starts wagging when we enter her neighborhood. I know when he is there that he is treated like family and that he is so much more comfortable than he would be staying anywhere else. I will only use Laura for boarding and grooming, because I know she will take care of my dog as if he is her own!The care he receives at Laura’s is unlike any other doggie daycare/pet resort facility we’ve tried for Goose. He loves playing with the other dogs in her yard! I couldn’t recommend Home Away From Home more for your pups!!!

Laura watched our 6 month old pup Remy for a week while we were on vacation. He had such a great time playing with other dogs and running around in Laura’s big yard. I know he was well taken care of and loved. Laura also gave Remy his first groom and he looked fabulous. 😃 She also pays attention to details, like giving each dog a personalized “Home Away From Home” tote bag, and treats for pup and owners to take home. We have been using Laura for several years. She takes excellent care of our two dogs. When I pull up to her house they know they are at ‘Laura’s’, both wagging their tails and happy to be there. I love getting the pictures and updates as well, as it is such a thoughtful gesture to see how our fur babies are doing. I also have my Cavalier groomed by Laura, and she does a fantastic job!
My dogs have spent many days and nights at Home Away from Home over the years. I rest easy knowing that they are well-cared for by Laura and her family. My first dog was a lively golden retriever who loved being with the other dogs; and my second dog Taylor is a quiet labradoodle who prefers being with people. Either way, Home Away from Home is a good place for them to be when we are away.
I brought my 1 year old toddler yorkie to here to be groomed. Both Lauren and Elizabeth were so helpful when it came to checking her in and getting us a super great deal. We will definitely be back again soon. Thanks for shampooing my baby butterscotch biscuit. You gals are awesome. So is the guy in the back that groomed her.

I have been taking my dogs here for 10 years! Unfortunately the prices keep changing. My dogs always shared a room because they are more comfortable together. They would stay in 1 executive suite! As of late they started charging me for 2 executive suites every time they stay over! I understand there needs to be a charge for the 2nd dog, I had asked if I could be charged for the executive suite that they stay in and then charged for a less expensive suite since they don’t even use a 2nd room at all! For some reason they will not allow it.. I need to be charged for two $65 rooms instead of $65 and $40. It makes no sense to me! Also on the website it says that the overnight boarding includes a day of daycare. Well that is not exactly true! We dropped off my dogs at 6:30 pm Friday and picked up Saturday at 6:30 which would be an overnight and a daycare. The daycare is only included the day they get there. So for my 2 dogs to stay overnight and do one day of daycare was $190! That’s just too much! After 10 years I’m going to have to find a new more affordable place to take my dogs!
Oakview Pet Resort is amazing. Everyone there is so kind and willing to answer any questions, they were happy to give me a tour of the facility as well. I took my dog to doggy daycare somewhere else and it smelled SO BAD I would have to give my dog a bath after every visit and the people were so rude. I'm so glad I found a place that's friendly and my dog doesnt reek when I pick him up.
These guys provide outstanding customer service. I feel a sense of relief knowing my dog is in good hands during my workday.

We love this place. They treat our Sully like their own dog. He has so much fun during the day at day care, and has stayed overnight a few times. Super friendly staff. The rates are super reasonable as well. It's best to get the punch card because it saves you $20 over time. Also, Wednesday and Thursday are $25 for the whole day!
What a wonderful, well maintained, CLEAN and happy place to bring your pet! I have tried other places for doggy daycare and was never really impressed, but that all changed the first time I used Oakview. The girls that work the front desk honestly seem to enjoy working there, they always greet my dog like he's THEIR pet, and once they take his leash, he never even looks back at me- a sign that he is happy being there. I don't worry all day at work about how he's being treated, and I like that they have some private rooms and will put a dog in there when he seems like he needs a little "down time". This is by far the cleanest, most well-run daycare I've seen, and my dog and I both loves the days that he gets to go there!
Dog owners please beware!!! This kennel is responsible for multiple pet injuries with a complete lack of communication and disregard for pet owners. My parents brought their yorkies here for a short weekend stay a few weeks ago. They were told that big and small dogs would be separated and that the pets would be closely monitored. At the end of the weekend, both dogs had multiple deep puncture wounds that required multiple staples. My parents were not notified. No voicemails or missed calls. And it happened on the first day before their flight left so they could have changed plans to care for the pups. Looking at other negative reviews in hindsight (which seem to be hidden unless one searched for them) I was appalled to find that this is a PATTERN for this organization. Multiple dogs have been injured without any remorse from management or communication about what actually happened! There is even a person on Yelp who describes having a pet die due to injuries sustained at this kennel. I can only speak for myself and our family pups are obviously traumatized as are my parents by the experience. And judging by the location of the bites it could have been much much worse. Please be aware before trusting your pets with this business.

Our family suddenly had a great opportunity that would take us traveling almost every weekend for months! First thought was..."who is going to take care of our cats?". I didn't have time to do the extensive research, I usually do, and I did a search and Tails-a-Waggin 4U popped up. I phoned Peggy, and instantly got a great feeling from her. We have now been using Tails-a-Waggin 4U for awhile now. Peggy is wonderful, and had paired us up with one of her sitters..Linda! I can tell you that we do not have an ounce of concern, about the care our furkids receive, while we are away. I highly recommend Peggy, and her staff. Our cats, and our family, adore Linda. There are no words on how amazing and kind Peggy is! She took care of my fur child Luna (female cat, age 7.5 yrs) for 4 days and was the best. She understood that my gal can be a bit shy and timid around new people and was extremely patient with her. So patient that my cat warmed up to her and allowed Peggy to brush her. She has been the only person, outside of my husband and I, who has been able to accomplish that! We were even surprised to see cute little report cards about Luna. Peggy knows exactly what she’s doing and is always prepared if any situation arises. Anytime we need a pet sitter, we’ll always reach out to Peggy. Cannot recommend her enough!

Peggy and our dog walker Colleen have been so amazing to work with. I was nervous to get a dog walker because we just rescued our dog and he is terrified of people and can be aggressive. Excellent service! Peggy came to our rescue when our regular pet sitter suddenly went out of business AND right before a big holiday weekend - so it was hard to find someone fast! She was able to stop by the next day, meet our Muttley and learn his little tricks and took amazing care of him while we were away for a week. She texted photos and updates every day and wrote a report on him each day as well. Really great, affordable, RELIABLE and very great with communication. I highly recommend!

The sitter for our area, Linda, is an absolute darling. I don't think I can truly describe how kind, patient, and caring she is. We had to find a boarder last-minute after our plans to leave our dog with family during our wedding fell through. Dominoe’s was fantastic! Their staff were incredibly helpful, returned my call promptly, and even helped me find a vet nearby to get one of our dog’s vaccines up-to-date for boarding. They sent me pictures which really helped ease my mind about boarding him for the first time. Staff were also extremely accommodating and let us add another day to his stay when our plans changed. Our dog came back happy and healthy. Will definitely use Dominoe’s in the future if I need a boarder while visiting family!
I highly recommend Dominoe Pet Resort. I have left my 14 and 15 year old special needs dogs there (one blind, one deaf) for as long as three weeks and it’s been a great experience each time. They truly care about your pets and you can rest assured they are well taken care of. A+!
We boarded our dogs at Dominoe for a full week, and they had an amazing time! The owner and staff are wonderful. Our dogs were taken care of like they were family. The staff sent us plenty of pictures and videos during their stay and we could tell that they were having a blast. We were worried our dogs wouldn’t want to come home! Haha we plan to use Dominoe for all future boarding.
I bring both of our dogs here. The service is great, and they are wonderful with our pets. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The facility is easy to spot from the road and parking is free and handicapped accessible. The facility has a ground floor entrance that is also handicapped accessible. The can board dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and guinea pigs. You would need to call to see about fish (if the tank is small, I don't think they take large tanks). There is a groomer who is wonderful, so you can your pet groomed while at the kennel. There are large pens and runs. Your pet can get "play time" as well for a small extra fee. I would highly recommend this kennel to anyone.
Love Dominoe Pet Resort & my dog does too!!! Very knowledgeable, very clean & very friendly!!! Hercules is so excited to stay, he actually runs from the car to their door every time we take him. Beautiful kennel & runs. Nobody will take better care of your dog!! Highly recommend!!!
Wonderful kennels. I have been using the kennels for 14 years and my dogs are always happy and very well cared for. They go above and beyond to care for my dogs. Although it is a 30 minute drive it is well worth the trip to know that my dogs are safe and happy. Virginia and her staff are wonderful
I called to reserve boarding for my cats a month and a half early. I just received a call one week before our trip from staff informing us that they have no room and since we are the newest customer, our reservation will be cancelled. This is a terrible policy. Now it's a week away from our trip and I can't find anywhere to board my cats. If you haven't been a customer at this location DO NOT trust reserving a space here. You will regret it!
So thoughtful and considerate of my dogs quirks and needs. Fit me into their grooming schedule on short notice which was a Godsend! Haven't been feeling well since my second COVID shot so the dogs' bath routine has been sorely neglected. Don't know what I would have done if they didn't take them in for a couple of days and doing their baths! Thanks so much!
First time using a boarding facility and we will definitely be back. My dogs seemed in good spirits and health when I picked them up. The place is very clean and the owners live on-site, which is a huge relief!

My dog, Vicky, has been going there for years! She is so excited to jump in the car, go for a ride, & get to Best friends. The staff for grooming & boarding do an excellent job taking care of her! My husband & I trust them for meeting Vicky’s needs, especially because, she is an older dog:).
Our cat loves going here for boarding. They treat him so well, he gets the social aspect he needs and we feel safe while we have to be away from our baby. They send us pics and provide a selection of add on snacks. 5 stars from Squirrel.
Our dogs love this place. Whether it is for grooming or overnight stays, they have never failed to provide the best care for babies. I truly feel that they are in the best place when we travel. We always return to well cared for, happy and healthy pets.
We have been boarding with Best Friends for about 7 years now. We never had an issue. Michelle ( the manager) is always super friendly and always accommodates our needs. We use their salon as well. Given our pup is not an easy going, they are doing their best and never refused to provide a service.
I had initially given 5 stars. But I'm changing it to a 1. Tonight we picked up Erin after a 3 night stay with grooming. She's lost weight, she's limping, she's uninterested in her favorites treats, her human children, or food. Her nails are jagged and extremely short. We've had great experiences in the past but this one is so bad we won't be boarding her anywhere again. My kids are distraught with worry over their best friend who also returned wheezing.
Easily the best dog boarding we've ever had. Our three big dogs are always so happy to visit and play or stay overnight. The staff all know us and our three dogs, and treat us like family. Our dogs come back to us happy and tired every time we take them. Fantastic facility backed by an exceptionally amazing crew!
We were pleased from our initial phone call to the day we picked up our cat , Olive, after 9 days of boarding. We were impressed with the communication of staff members and their attention to details to make Olive comfortable! We will definitely call on Best Friends when the need arises!
Have been using them for years. The staff is great and they treat my dogs as if it’s their dogs. I also love that they work with my vet, Lincolnshire Animal Hospital. There’s great communication between the two businesses
Best Friends is my dog’s favorite place to go! The staff is friendly. They always welcome Logan in by name for whatever service we are there for. I like Best Friends because when the dog stays overnight I receive an emailed picture and update of how my dog is doing.
For 10 years, Sarah has done the most amazing job with all of our dogs! Just took our Berner mix puppy to her today for his first grooming. She’s the best!!
With a dog and 2 cats, there is always a "what am I going to do?!" moment when I'm called out of town --- but I relax as soon as I remember Jessie! Critter Sitters has come through for me every time, even for last minute plans! I rest easy knowing Jessie is taking great care of my little buddies. :)
Jessie has a connection with animals that every pet sitter should hope for. Animals LOVE Jessie and she loves them right back. There are few people that I would trust with my pets and Jessie is at the top of the list. Not only is she a great sitter/walker/playmate, but she is also educated in the medical aspect of animals. She knows what to look for if a pet is not feeling well or acting a bit off. To have someone there when you are not that can quickly make the right decision is so important to a pet owner. Jessie does indeed got the extra mile for all of her clients and I couldn't think of a better person to be with my pets when I can't.
We have two big labs that Jessie takes care of when we are out of town. It is so nice to be able to leave them at home and not worry about bringing them to the kennel. We know they are well attended to by Jessie!
