When Jackie rang the doorbell, both of The Girls ran to the door to give her a warm welcome and immediately took to her as she entered. Once she made it past the initial love and affection offensive offered up to all new arrivals, she was able to sit down on the couch to chat with us, and then they both jumped up by her side! Roxy wasn’t content to just snuggle up next to her like her sister did, but instead rolled over onto her back and put her head in Jackie’s lap, gazing up into her eyes like a lovestruck teenager. It was clear both of them were intensely and immediately comfortable with her, a good sign since in our experience, our doggos are a fabulous judge of character. While all was clearly going great with the dogs, we assured her it was normal if she didn’t see the cats right away; they would probably come out within a day or two. However, before we even boarded the plane, we received a cute photo of Nimbus poking his head out from around the couch with a curious look and the caption, “Look who joined the party.” Followed shortly after by a photo of Limerick saying, “And the gang’s all here!” Parker and I looked at each other and exchanged a knowing look and small sigh of relief: Jackie was *definitely* the perfect choice to watch over our furry family, and we would have no reason to waste time thinking about what was happening at home! While we were away, she consistently kept us posted on our pets antics by sending adorable photos of everyone throughout, allowing us to check in when we had Wi-Fi. Due to weather delays for our later flight, we opted to catch an earlier flight home the last day. Even though we arrived home hours earlier than expected, the place was already spotless, the bed had been remade, the towels were in the dryer, and there, on the kitchen counter, were freshly picked wildflowers in a vase that she admitted, “The Girls helped her pick out.” We could tell by the way they all related to her, the entire family had been well loved while we were away. It was also obvious they’d had quite an effect on her too, as she was clearly sad to leave them behind, saying how much she would miss them and even offering to be their guardian if anything were to ever happen to us, as we don’t have any family who could take them. Not only is Jackie an amazing sitter, she is a kind, generous, loving, warm and genuinely good human being, one who not only loves animals, but is easy to talk to and fun company to have around. Had we not had a flight to catch that first night, Parker and I could have just as easily chosen to go out to dinner or spent the rest of the evening in engaging conversation with her. If you get an application from Jackie to watch over your pets and home, don’t hesitate. Just hit accept and know that your pets will thank you for it! The next time we head out of town, we will absolutely be hitting her up first to see if she’s available, long before we post our next sit publicly.

Thanks so much for trusting us with your pets and home. We had a great time with them and the place was really comfy for us. There is a great paved and boardwalk walking trail though the woods. And the Farmers Market was out of this world. Keep us in mind if you need someone in the future. And tell the cat crew we already miss them.

A truly stunning location and the view from the cottage is everything you could wish for. It's fairly isolated, very quiet and peaceful, and a car is needed for your food shopping or popping into town for a coffee etc.

The three fur babies were SO easy to care for and look after, gentle Jesse the German Shepherd X, and adorable Noodle the Dachshund loved their daily walks and grooming, and were receptive to all the love and attention you can give them. Just one 30 minute slow walk around the property daily was enough for them as they are both getting on in years...Shy Zoe the cat came and went on her own schedule and routine, as kitties do, but still enjoyed affection when she forgot she was so shy!

The only downside was that Lindy quite obviously hadn't managed to have the cottage cleaned in a long while, so I needed to organise a cleaner for a day, (the cost of which Lindy readily refunded). She also omitted to mention that the dishwasher didn't work - a minor irritation, but until I queried it, it left me wondering if I'd broken it!

It was a pleasure to sit for Mark and Sarah and take care of the beautiful Toto for two weeks in May/June this year. The house is lovely, clean and tidy and is very well-situated in a quiet area in between Hale and Altrincham (just 5 mins walk each way). The guest room is a spacious, airy loft with plenty of room to relax and a beautiful private bathroom with views over the city centre in the distance. There is fast Wi-Fi, Sky TV and a fabulous kitchen too which is great if you enjoy cooking as I do, along with a secluded and leafy garden space.

Toto is a dream to look after - she's the sweetest soul. A gorgeous, friendly and affectionate pup who is very easygoing and can be trusted off-lead in the park and quieter areas which made walks with her even more of a pleasure. She also loves to play and we had lots of lovely walks together and plenty of cuddles! There are lots of great places to walk right on the doorstep and the motorway is easily accessible along with local tram routes.

Communication between myself and Sarah was great, if I had a question I could easily get hold of her and organising the sit was very simple and easy.

Overall I'd highly recommend this sit to other sitters, and have already completed a second sit for Toto :)

First of all, Allison and Chris are wonderful. We had a very quick handover, but got all the important bits done, and they were (are) incredibly welcoming, Allison even left us a delicious freshly cooked roast chicken (thank you again!)

The house is gorgeous, situated close to a multitude of footpaths, enabling us to discover Farnham 'at the roots' as it were. Farnham town is only about a 30 minute walk away, as are some lovely woods and commons including a woodlands set where part of Gladiator was filmed! Some lovely places for food too, if you wanted to eat out.

And, most importantly! Mia is an absolute darling. We miss her already! She is such a pleasure to spend time with, she thoroughly enjoys her walks and playtime, letting you know when she wants to play (she'll drop a ball at your feet or bring a toy over and give you a look) and when she wants her ham treat after a walk! She's great out on walks, her recall is fantastic (well done Allison!), she's very intelligent and has a lovely personality too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to return when any dates line up!

Overall, a great sit with an affectionate trio to care for, and a charming cottage in which to to relax.

Pets. Dash, Scamper and Puck were delightful. Puck is an incredibly handsome and friendly chap who loves to cuddle and climb on you. Scamper - the pup - is adorable, very attentive and already responding to commands on her short walk. Dash is a typical lovable Labrador who does 'dash' about on her walks with Scamper in pursuit. This can be a little unnerving at first, and some may opt for the long lead. However, she does respond to recall once she adjusts to your voice, and you her routine run about. Clearly, Dash requires a longer walk that I managed by taking her out again in the afternoon.

Place. Plenty of walks from the front door onto open fields made exercise easy and fun. The Vale of the White Horse is a picturesque setting to wander. Farringdon has all the shops you will need and there are nice local pubs where you can eat well too. The house is very comfortable, particularly the dual aspect bedroom, and the garden/ garden room offered a pleasant places to relax and read. Oh, and the library, which is sensibly ordered alphabetical (high five on that).

People. Vic and William are a charming couple, very friendly and welcoming. Communication was spot on prior to, the guide accurate and comprehensive. Plus, Vic's walk through -talk through - left me at ease with my responsibilities from the off. Vic's, understandably, likes a Pup/Puck update, which we achieved seamlessly through WHATSAPP.

All in all, lovable pets to care for, plenty of interesting places to visit and Vics and William great people to have met.
