What a pleasure to stay at the cozy casita of Leslie and Janel's and take care of their 2 sweet cats. It was my first pet sit with Trusted Housesitters and they set a very high bar. Before the sit they sent me their info packet which was very thorough with everything needed about the house and cat care. Since I live in the same city I also was able to get an in person orientation from the previous pet sitter. I was very impressed with the amount of space made available for the Sitters in every room for my personal items and groceries. It was an overall relaxing and enjoyable week, they always responded quickly to any questions and cute cat pics and the sunrises and sunsets are amazing from their house!
Thank you for inviting me into your lovely home Mark & Laurel. Your welcome guide and orientation was well done and thought out. It was a delight to sit for Otis! He is a big playful teddy bear and kept me active during the day. He loved going for a big walk in the morning and we managed to do lots of frisbee and ball playing throughout the day as well as a shorter evening walk. It was very special to experience the beautiful ocean vista and sunsets sent straight from heaven! 🌅
I don't know where to start...Ellie or her pet guardians. Both are extremely lovely and I'd highly recommend connecting with any of these souls. Ellie is sweet, loving and very quiet, especially for a dog :). She also loves food and a lot of things on countertops, so beware, but also totally easy to manage. Sarah and John absolutely adore Ellie, and were very attentive and wanting to make sure I was taken care of while I was taking care of Ellie. If you have the opportunity to look after this sweet soul, I highly recommend it.
This was my second small holding sit, and I absolutely loved looking after the animals and staying in Sam and Helena’s home. I am pleased I stayed locally the night before so that I felt fresh and could focus on the important and detailed instructions Sam gave me on the walk around. Richard the ram was isolated in a small paddock as he was recovering from an eye infection and I so loved chatting to him and stroking him ( he reminded me he was there as I passed him to let the chickens out in the morning and putting them away at night ) Who needs a teddy bear ! I really appreciated the videos that Sam made the day before , and referred to them a couple of times to check that I hadn’t forgotten anything. This was my first time looking after sheep, but there was very little to do, just a question of checking them twice a day and putting out some sheep nuts. The chickens and ducks were straightforward, and I loved the moments spent with the geese, including watching them hilariously sliding down the entrance to their hut, enjoying the mud. And now for the cats. It took a day for Brian, Blacky and Tabby to get used to my being there, ( three siblings who used to be outdoor cats )Brian is the most forth coming, but Blacky enjoyed a stroke from the relative safety of his basket . Tabby still stays outside, looking longingly into the kitchen , pleading for more food. Sorry I was supposed to give more dry food and less wet food, but was worried about Brians cystitis and the fact that he made a beeline for the dry food whenever I put it out ! But Womble stole my heart. He stays upstairs and LOVES attention. He is an elderly beautiful cat, a great communicator and so gentle with his paw…. just tapping you to let you know in the most courteous manner what he needs. The first night I was a little tired and probably didn’t fuss him enough before I went to sleep so he was a little unsettled and checked me out a few times in the night , but from the second night he was used to me being there and settled well. Staying in this beautiful home was wonderful. You wont need to leave the farm, there are walks from the door, a doorstep to drink your coffee from, stars in the sky, sunrises to gaze at from the chickens quarters, and trees to admire. So wonderful to immerse myself in this wonderful place. Thank you Sam and Helena, I hope I can visit again, Sophia Oh and bring wellies !
We loved tinker! She definitely sheds so be mindful of her fur especially if you are traveling and need a lint roller. Tink did manage to get into my stuff sitting on the table, so I'd recommend pushing all chairs under and leaving bags on the top. She was such a sweet and snuggly dog with A LOT of personality. I did feel the need to pick up a little upon arrival due to the fur. We loved our stay and were so close to the direct metro to Paris!
We were very well received by Karina and Eduardo. They were very kind and loving to us, they gave us all the information about the birds and tips about the city and the beaches. The apartment is very beautiful and well organized, and the condo is wonderful with great infrastructure. The feather babies, Grudinho, Luna, Kika and Pituco are beautiful and well behaved, very simple and easy to take care of them and the home. We are very grateful for the opportunity, and we would definitely return one day, and we find new friends for life. I have known Amanda for several years as she used to occasionally look after our dog who we sadly lost last summer. I’ve been absolutely delighted with Amanda and her team, having recently stopped working from home and needing support with my German Shorthaired Pointer during the day. I love getting the photo updates and am convinced my dog is in the best hands. I was worried about leaving her but any anxiety dissipated straight away. Fantastic, friendly and caring service from South Oxon Pet Services. Amanda recently looked after our 3 cats, coming in twice a day to ensure they had everything they needed and keeping them busy with cat treat puzzles and other games. I always worry about leaving the cats but Amanda kept us reassured with plenty of photos and videos. Highly recommend!
I have used the boarding services of South Oxon Pet Services for a number of years now for my two Working Cocker Spaniels. It is great to see the daily photos of my dogs out on their walks while my wife and I are on holiday or when South Oxon Pet Services have them for the day. I can highly recommend their services and have total faith my dogs are in good hands.
I first used SOPS 8 years ago for my Cockapoo Cracker. I was anxious about leaving him for the first time but he had a wonderful stay . It was lovely to see daily photos of him on Facebook while I was away. Amanda and Tony are friendly and easy to get on with and provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment for the animals they look after. Cracker and I moved away to Wales a few years ago but I recently used their services again. Cracker made himself at home instantly as if he’d never been away and on my return, apart from being delighted to see me of course, he was relaxed and clearly had a wonderful holiday too. Thank you SOPS. I highly recommend their services to anyone.
Saying THANK YOU is not enough for the service Amanda and Tony provides. We were going away for ten days for the first time since we have adopted Ruby more than two years ago. She is a sensitive and stressed senior girl around anyone new. Amanda reassured us prior our departure that everything will be fine and provided regular updates with pictures and videos through our stay. Ruby seemed to get used to with Amanda and Tony quickly, which demonstrates how caring and loving they are. When we have returned Ruby didn't seemed stressed and she look well looked after and happy. After all Amanda gave Ruby her favorite treats :). They have also ensured that our bins were moved in and out of the property for collection, and even potted up plant plugs when they were delivered while we were away and saved all the plants. I will definitely use South Oxon Pet Service again and will recommend anyone looking for affordable and the best pet service they can have by miles. Thank you both!
Having never used a pet sitting service before I wasn’t really sure what to expect but Amanda exceeded my expectations. Her service was personalised and the care she gave for our cat Ozzi was exceptional. He injured his paw which required stitches just before we went on holiday. This meant he was housebound for a week which he is not used to and is a timid cat by nature. She visited twice daily and administered his antibiotics and took him for his check up at the vets and kept us updated with her fantastic photos and gave us the reassurance we needed that he was in good hands. We returned from our 2 week holiday to a very contented cat and his paw has healed beautifully. I highly recommend South Oxon Pet Services and would not hesitate to use them again. 🐈⬛🥰
Amanda has looked after willow since she was 4 months old ,she was recommended by a friend ,willow was a very nervous puppy when we got her and was literally scared of everything and everyone willow was so bad biting all the time and not just puppy biting really biting that we very nearly got rid of her ,Amanda was so good and patient with willow and treated her like she was her dog even took her home to play with her dogs Now 2 years later willow is a different dog so calm cuddly and very loving although she still has some nervoness in her until she trust you then she's your best friend Amanda has been amazing for willow she goes out everyday with Amanda for walks and boards at her house when we go away willow knows when the door bell rings it's Amanda and looks forward to seeing her and her walks if it wasn't for Amanda and all her help and training willow would not be with us now would definitely recommend Amanda and south oxon pet services 100%
Amanda took great care of our cat whilst we were on holiday. It was so much easier leaving him at home knowing he would have visits and be fussed over, than taking him to a cattery. It was wonderful to see pictures of him on Facebook and Amanda kept in touch to let us know how he was getting on so we didn't need to worry! We came back to a very happy cat (we didn't even have the usual post holiday sulk, either!!). Would very much recommend to anyone looking for someone to look after their fur-baby whilst they're away!

Walkeys Day Care has been looking after my golden retriever since she was 12 weeks old. They are amazing with her and she literally jumps out of the car every time we turn up. Our dog Monty loves Walkeys day care and so do we! Its been such a life saver when my husband and I are working long shifts. Vicki, Emily, Philip & Helen are absolute stars! They turn up without fail, give Rocky the chocolate lab lots of fun & love. They all did an amazing job walking Rocky whilst we were on holiday. Willow loves going to Walkeys Day Care - I’m sure she knows which day it is because she sits by the front door waiting to go! Helen and her team are amazing - when Willow was poorly they phoned to let me know and suggested a trip to the vets which turned out to be a very good idea. I can highly recommend Walkeys whether you need day care or just want some socialisation for your dog - they’re fab!
I’ve used Walkeys for several years now. My dog gets so excited when he hears StJohn’s car. He adores him. If StJohn is on holiday then either Helen or Philip take him out. He loves them too! If I think the weather is too hot the following week I text them and get prompt responses. The ladies in the office are efficient and always helpful. I would highly recommend. They also provide doggy day care if needed and happy to stay in my house overnight if I have a weekend away. Good all round service!
We have been using Walkeys for a number of years now and they look after our lively, energetic black lab brilliantly. She has been socialised since a pup post the awful covid experience and the expertise, tips and training advice of a Behaviourist Team have been invaluable. My 4 year old Labrador has been going to Walkeys 2 times a week for the last 8 months and has absolutely loved it. Emily and Vicky are brilliant and always keeping me updated on how she has been, especially letting me know when she hasn’t been her normal self showing that they really do pay attention to the little things. My dog is obsessed with Emily who picks her up and drops her off and always makes sure she’s left with a little treat. My dog comes home absolutely KNACKERED after day care from all the playing, walking and enrichment that they do with the dogs in their care. Can’t fault them and highly recommend if you want your dogs to be out in the open countryside rather than stuck in a room.

Perfect example of a personal service. The team are great, our pup gets a really good walk (often for much longer than we expect). They accommodate us last minute when needed for busy days at work. My only worry is he likes them more than us :)

Jacqui and the team at We Love Pets are so much more than dog walkers/sitters. I feel so reassured when I need to leave our dog, knowing they care as much as we do. It’s not just a job for them, they genuinely care & I can’t recommend them enough. Recently I had arranged for our Jack Russell to be walked and I was a bit worried as she hadn’t been herself that morning. I just emailed to let them know & Jacqui called me & arranged to spilt the walk and check on her twice so I could be reassured. Our dog was absolutely fine but it was so nice to know she was being kept an eye on.
Jacqui, her team and family were the perfect minders for our little puppy Mia. She felt at home immediately and we knew instantly that she was in good, safe, caring, professional and trustworthy hands. Mia was so happy at the end of her first day. Jacqui and the team have been absolutely amazing and I would happily recommend them to anyone. My dog is slightly nervous when meeting new people and it takes him a little time to build trust. They were gentle, kind and patient with him and now have a great bond. I've never used dog walkers in all my years of dog ownership (over 15 years) so it was a big thing for me to trust someone else with my dog, to take care of him and to not reinforce and negative behaviour. I only wish I could take these ladies with me to where I'm relocating! Special mention goes to India, who does most of the walks, I love and appreciate the little notes and I'm so grateful for your caring attitude towards my boy.
We used We Love Pets Wantage for the first time recently. Having experienced the most awful pet sitter previously we were super cautious about booking another one. Needless to say we didn't need to worry. From start to finish the service was faultless. Jacqui put us at ease and carefully selected the most suitable person for us and Rosa worked out just perfectly. We had regular updates and photos sent and came back to very happy animals in great shape who'd obviously had a very enjoyable week. We contacted the Wantage branch of We Love Pets when we unexpectedly and suddenly needed care for a family dog, because his owner ended up in hospital. What a fantastic service they gave - finding a last-minute ‘holiday home’ for him, collecting him, taking him to a vet appointment, and generally welcoming him to the family. And Jacqui, who arranged all this, was so nice and helpful, and made things so easy in a stressful situation. And she kept us posted with photos to show how well he had settled in. We would highly recommend this company and, if future care is needed, would go back there immediately. A big ‘thank you’ to the We Love Pets team.
Our Peggy loves staying with Lorain and her lovely labs at Dog Haven Boarding! Whether it’s a weekend trip or just a daycare session, the dogs are occupied and engaged and get plenty of love and cuddles. We are so glad to have found them as it really has been like a home from home for Peggy, she even knows exactly where she’s going once we turn off at the roundabout and gets all excited in the car! You can tell Lorain really cares for the dogs and gets to know them and all their little quirks to make sure their normal routines aren't disrupted too much. We also get plenty of photo updates which really make us smile! We would recommend Dog Haven Boarding 100%!
We were away for a week, and our energetic furball Rocco had the time of his life with Lorain and his new best friend, Ronnie. Our 3-year-old Golden Retriever was truly receiving top-notch care every step of the way. Lorain has looked after my rescue dog who does not warm to people easily. However, the moment he entered Dog Haven he was at ease and instantly loved Lorain (unusual for him). He had a fantastic weekend and didn’t want to come home! Lorain kept us updated with how he was getting on. It is such a lovely place for dogs and felt like a little holiday for him. We have used Dog Haven Boarding on numerous occasions and it is a god send for our two little fur babies! We were not keen with putting our dogs in kennels, particularly as our little Yorkipoo is very needy, so when we found Lorain and her family offering daycare, overnight stays, including holidays in a home environment we were so pleased. We went for an initial visit to meet Lorain and to see how our dogs would enjoy the stay, and interact with Lorain’s own lovely labradors. It is a clean home, with a good sized, safe enclosed garden for the dogs to play and enjoy the outdoors. They are also taken for walks outside of the house in small groups during daycare on leads, as safety of the dogs is taken seriously. I think this is really important for routine and also provides further stimulation. Photo updates during the day gives reassurance and is a nice touch. After daycare, on collection, both our dogs appear very happy, so we know they have been well looked after whilst in daycare with Lorain and often are very keen to get back into the house when we return. We also used Dog Haven Boarding for our first holiday away since we got the dogs and we were very anxious. Lorain listened to our requirements and met all the needs for our dogs whilst we were away. So it was easy to enjoy our time away without worrying about the dogs. Again the photo and video updates really helped us to stay relaxed and not worry so much. Lorain is very approachable and has a lovely manner. She often responds at short notice and she is totally amazing with our dogs. If you are considering a home environment for daycare or whilst you are on holiday, I would highly recommend using Dog Haven Boarding!
I can't recommend Lorain highly enough. She clearly loves dogs, and they clearly love being with her - dog people will understand what this means. I always used to feel guilty going on holiday and taking my black lab to kennels. Not any more. As soon as we are near Dog Haven he knows exactly where he is and is visibly excited and happy. Loraine sends through regularly updates during the stay and I'm always happy knowing that our dog is being well cared for.
My two dogs were instantly at ease with Lorain, as was I. She has the loveliest manner with dogs, and I felt very happy to leave my boys with her. They came back happy and tired. When we went for our second visit, they could not wait to get back through her door! I am delighted I have found Lorain , and we will now be regular visitors.

Meadow Pets is an exceptional pet care service that took care of my two cats, Saki and Moon, while I was away. I couldn't have been more pleased with the level of care they received. From the moment I contacted Meadow Pets, I knew my cats were in good hands. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they took the time to get to know Saki and Moon's individual personalities and needs. They made sure to keep me updated throughout their stay, sending me photos and updates on how they were doing. When I returned home, I found my cats happy and healthy. It was clear that they had received plenty of attention and affection during their stay with Meadow Pets. Their litter box was clean, their food and water bowls were full. Overall, I would highly recommend Meadow Pets to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet care service. Meadow Pets are absolutely wonderful. I can’t recommend them enough. Hands down the best pet sitters in Didcot! I have a rescue cat who is incredibly anxious, is prone to stress related illness and has allergies too. I was very nervous about leaving him for a few days but it turned out I didn’t need to worry at all. Abi and Phil came to visit us before we went away so they could get to know Charlie’s personality and routine. They left a form for me to fill out to gather every important bit of information about him. They took all of the information to heart and it was obvious that they’d actually listened to me and read the form. I felt confident that Charlie - and by extension our house - was being left in good hands. Their communication was excellent. I received updates after every single visit to let me know how Charlie was getting on - down to whether he’d eaten and used the litter box. The photographs were all Instagram worthy and had the most adorable captions. I thought that Charlie was going to hide during every visit but thanks to the kindness and understanding of Phil he came out to play and have strokes after the very first time he came round! If you met Charlie you’d know that’s no small feat. I was so happy. The price charged was incredibly reasonable. They cared for Charlie as if he was their own pet. When we came home Charlie was very happy. Everything was clean and in its place. I won’t have to worry about leaving town any more because I’ll book Meadow Pets and use their pet sitting service every time! I’m so glad that we found them.
