We were so pleased when we saw Annie & Tom's application for our sit dates. You just get a feel about a sitter and we knew right away they would be excellent sitters from their application message and their prior reviews. We did a video call and were impressed with the questions they asked us, they are obviously pros at this housesitting stuff!! They arrived on time and aked all the right questions before we left. They are thorough, very clean and excellent communicators. Our cat Ray was in excellent hands. They texted daily with updates and pictures of Ray. When we returned home, our house was just as we had left it...very clean, clean sheets and towels (many thanks) and a happy cat on his cat condo! We would happily welcome Annie & Tom back to stay anytime they are in the area. We enjoyed getting to know them and hearing about some of their travels. They are living the life we hope to live one day! We wish you the best of luck in your future travels and please stay in touch.
I would not recommend staying at Natty’s place. While the town of Milford is nice and quaint, the house itself smelled very moldy and had many plumbing issues from day 1. Our host provided things to do in Milford, but failed to mention some packages that needed to be signed for, where all the dog food was, and that a worker was coming to install something needed in her backyard. It also seemed liked she didn’t treat her dogs for ticks and uses shock collars to control them (which we put on but would not use). The dogs are nice, but are very reactive and did not respond to commands from us. They barked at every person and car the drive by and would not settle when someone came to the door to fix the cable in the backyard. It was definitely not a place to work during your stay.
The dogs were great fun and really good-no barking and simple. Especially Cupid and Comet were always very excited when it came to going outside :). The only thing you should know is that they are already older and might need some extra care because peeing is sometimes a problem (e.g. During the night). But over the days we figured out how to handle this better. The house is in a very nice area, quiet and perfect for walking the dogs. Crystal and her husband are extremly nice people, they were easy, they gave us good advice for eating and spending a good time around the area. Lovely people! We only graded one star down because the house to us was not very clean- but this might be because of our austrian standards… Thank you for your trust! :)
Chris and Helen were a pleasure to sit for. They were incredibly organised with instructions and so accomodating I felt instantly at home Bella and Jessie ( their two dogs ) are absolutely adorable! I didn’t want to leave them. So easy to take care of. I’d love to sit here again
We loved everything about the sit! Graham was great and the cats are the cuttest. Whenever we had a question Graham was ready to text with us and the apartment was very clean and beautiful. We enjoyed staying there, taking care of the cats and would love to com back
Jenny and Roger’s house is beautiful and so easy to look after. Their pets, Rupert and Ollie were just as easy to look after, and Rupert enjoyed the little car trips we took him on. He just curled up in the corner of the back seat, and it was as though he wasn’t even there, he was so quiet. It was a pleasure to meet Jenny and Roger, who made us both feel very comfortable during our visit with them prior to the sit. We’d love to sit for them. They really do live in one of the nicest areas of England.
Taking care of Ellie was so much fun. She is one of the best behaved dogs with a great personality. We went with her for 2 walks everyday and she loved it. Elaine and Gari's house is beautiful and has everything you need. It was not hard to reach them while they were on vacation so the communication was great. We can't recommend this housesit enough and would always return for another one. Thanks so much for letting us take care of Ellie!

We have used Always wagging on several occasions, dog/house sitting while away on holiday, Or for weekends away etc My boy is always well looked after and cared for and the house was too! Giving us peace of mind. Also, Our daughter was getting married and as Always Wagging offers a chaperone service for such occasions, he was asked to look after their dog throughout the day from preparation of wedding through to the very end. My daughter and her husband was so pleased that their boy could be part of their special day ( he was the ring holder) and Always Wagging totally cared for him throughout. We cannot fault this company and We would highly recommend them for all kinds of dog care. We will definitely be using them again.
Richard is always my first choice! He is knowledgeable about animals and truly cares about my cats. He is reliable and honest. I always come home to a happy cats. Thank you so much ☺️
Very reliable and friendly dog walker and boarder. Lee provides an excellent pick up and drop off service. Our border terrier is always excited to see Lee and clearly enjoys his days out and overnight stays.
We've been using Kate to walk our two dogs for a while now and not only are we impressed with her service but also our dogs are too. They both absolutely adore her. Kate doesn't just walk our dogs - she's an expert when it comes to animals from both a behavioural point of view and also knowing their needs. She makes the effort to truly bond with our pooches and her passion for animals shows. We can't recommend Kate enough!
Can't rate Bronwen highly enough. She helped me when I stupidly forgot to book her to look after Bob when we went away for the weekend. Then to make things worst Bob was poorly while we were away and he needed to be taken to the vets which Bronwen dealt with by contacting me and then taking him to the vets. Bob is not the easiest of cats but somehow she managed to apply drops to his eyes single handedly. We feel very lucky to have Bron as Bob's sitter and she definitely goes above and beyond in her care of him
We use the dog daycare regularly, and Onyx is always happy to go and see Morgan. He is well cared for, and I will feel comfortable to leave our new rescue dog with her, too. She's kind and safe, and she knows her stuff. It's also in her home, which I know Onyx likes, as he makes himself right at home in all the photos I've seen!
Our young Labrador loves going for his Doggy Day Care Mon to Fri and we're happy because we know he's being well cared for
Great. 100% will use again.
I have known Kim since she was very small, and her loving caring nature makes her the perfect choice, I have complete trust and confidence in her ability to care for your furry friends. Wishing you all the best in your new business adventure 😍😍xxx
I gave my Bichon a doggy care day with Kim. He was very happy there. He had 2 walks and lots of love and cuddles. I have booked him in again next week.. Thanks Kim..
Cookie enjoys going! Great service!
The management changed at the beginning of the year, which I was unaware of. When I called to book a stay for my dog, I was told that all bookings need to go through the booking system and was advised to create an account, which I did. After one booking was cancelled, I decided to book all our upcoming trips to be on the safe side. All bookings were accepted and confirmed. So, I thought we have the kennel sorted and booked our summer holiday. We paid for the holiday, but the travel agent contacted us saying that the flights needed to be changed. I called Lapford to extend the booking for one day, as we needed to drop her off the day before due to our flight change. The lady over the phone ‘penciled’ the booking and said she would confirm by email, but I never received confirmation. I checked my booking on the website and noticed that the whole booking was cancelled. Shocked, I booked again, and my booking was rejected due to no space. I called them immediately and was asked to come for an assessment first, which surprised me. They said they needed to assess my dog, as she is reactive and nervous due to being a rescue dog. We went there, and I was told that they won't take her as they won't be able to take care of her. I found this situation ridiculous. My dog.was going to the same place in the last 2 years. They knew she was reactive and still accepted her I knew how to work with her. When you decide to open a kennel or take over from the previous owners, you need to be able to look after any type of dog, whether it is small, large, nervous, or reactive. Since the ownership changed at the beginning of the year, be aware if your dog is a bit tricky and not a sweet puppy, you probably will be rejected, as they don’t deal with ‘challenging’ dogs. This is similar to a hotel rejecting your stay because you have a disabled child, which is unacceptable. We were left without a kennel 80 days before our holiday. Luckily, there are places in Devon that are accommodating to reactive dogs because they know how to deal with them. My tip for Lapford is if you are running a business with dogs, you cannot have any fear of these animals. You can reject the owner of the dog due to their behaviour but never the dog. From experience, I can guarantee that if you continue like this, you won't go far, as you will lose a lot of owners of ‘tricky’ dogs who relied on this place before.
After our regular boarder cancelled a couple of days before our girls were due to go ( no fault, completely unavoidable) we found ourselves searching. So incredibly glad we found Lapford as we were able to go down for an introduction with very short notice, and our two girls were introduced and were immediately relaxed. We went away after dropping them off the following day with no worries and they came back happy, waggy tails and still wanting more. We could not have wished for a better outcome and I'm so thrilled with them. We will definitely use again as I'm happy our girls are treated as one of their own dogs would be. I cannot thank you enough, and we will see you again once our next holiday is booked xx
Highly recommended! My Dalmatian was here for 10 days, she came back clean, happy and playful. I will definitely be using them again. I love the fact she was able to mix with other dogs as she is very sociable.
We've been leaving our dog here for a year or so. It used to be fine during the previous ownership. However following her last stay (3 nights) we were left in shock when we picked her up. She was stressed beyond belief, starving, absolutely reeking of urine and wet all over - obviously having slept in her own wee. Shocking. The woman there advised ownership has just changed - Neil no longer running the spot. She didn't even know which one was our dog - as in did not know her by the name, and was visibly oblivious to anything that was going on. I honestly think anyone was hardly there over the weekend and the poor dogs and cats were neglected. Seriously considering reporting the place. Not acceptable.
I needed a kennels for my dogs in March. My male Malinois is reactive to men and other dogs usually... Arrived there this morning and he didn't react negatively at all. Was an introduction day, which they didn't even charge for. Very positive, and my dogs have slept since coming home. Highly recommended, and am looking forward to my holiday now that I know my dogs will be cared for x
Excellent job looking after my dogs, one is 50kg and hard to handle and they were extremely competent and professional.
Lovely place, our dog was well looked after and very reasonably priced.
Our two shelties, went in Thursday for the 1st time away from us. They were so happy and well looked after. Will return. Many thanks for putting our minds at ease.
We boarded our spaniel at Lapford Lodge, for the first time, for 5 nights over the Christmas period. When we picked her up, her coat was wet & matted and when we got home she was licking her front paws, limping and was very lethargic, with no appetite, so we took her to the vet. He found she had a bacterial infection on her leg and a high temperature so gave her injections and prescribed a course of antibiotics and she did slowly improve but is still lethargic, with intermittent stomach upsets. We have previously boarded her in other kennels and she has always come home happy and healthy, but it is now February and she is still not back to her normal lively self. Very distressing.
Kitten stayed for 35 days and was sleeping in her bed with a heated pad when I went to pick her up. She was clearly a happy cat and had been well looked after. The cat runs are within an outer building with large windows. I have no hesitation in recommending Lapford Lodge. The owners are friendly and caring. Some years ago my little dog boarded at the Kennels and was well cared for.
Great place to train your dog! Highly recommend if you'd like to try agility.
Awesome place for our dog when we are away working. He loves it there
Great training with the lovely Carol🐾🐾😃 …
