We've "been there and done that" in this pet/home sitting lifestyle we have been living the past 7 years. Living in the Swiss Alps, Tuscany Vineyards, HollyWood Hills, Historic Homes across the UK and France and so much more. We can now add Claudia and Michael's home to that list. The 5 STAR rating system does not do it justice. It is off the charts! The home is simply an extension of Claudia and Micheal. There is such a feeling of love and family history that they have built over the past 50 years. Not to mention the magical views overlooking the Pugent Sound (and an area known as the Whale Trail). You can be washing the dishes and whale watching at the same time. Or better yet, enjoy your dinner or be sipping on a coffee while watching for whales. And not just whales (of all sorts), but an abundance of marine life. We stayed for more than two weeks and not a day passed where we did not see something that made us appreciate the surrounding nature. Seals, Sea Lions, giant River Otters, Bald Eagles and so much more. Plus beachcombing galore. All sorts of shells, starfish, jellyfish, crabs and more. SPECTACULAR! Forgot to mention... the CABOOSE (art studio) on the property is a WOW!! But to truly make this a 5+ STAR sit requires more than a home and location. It is all about the pets. And we fell in love with Nookie and Virgil. What a bond we formed. Have been apart only a handful of hours now and we miss them dearly. We maintained a super activity filled couple weeks and Nookie thrived. He took advantage of every opportunity to go out and we gave it to him. Hours and hours spent walking the beach (twice a day planning around low tides). And Virgil, well we acted as typical "cat servants" to the gentle fellow. Such a lovable character. We cannot wait to return. Almost forget... the pleasure of tending to the chickens in return for fresh eggs every morning. The best! A heartfelt THANKS to Claudia and Michael for opening their home to us and treating us like family. A very special couple living a very special life. Grateful to call them friends.
Matty's home is comfortable, quiet, and well equipped. Winston is a gentle, friendly cat and was easy to care for. The fish were a cinch to feed. Communication with Matty was very easy -- she always responded quickly and answered all our questions fully. We had everything we needed, from linens to cookware, to toys and treats for the cat and food for the fish. We enjoyed a quiet stay of nearly 2 weeks. We took advantage of the proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and many beautiful hiking trails. We look forward to coming back.
Though we didn’t meet face to face, Charlotte and Pete left us great instructions and all we needed for a smooth sit. Felt welcomed warmly. Their house is comfortable and ideally located to access the centre of Winchester. Walkable and safe. When we arrived, Otto was out but as soon as he returned, walked confidently towards us and smelled us. He is gorgeous! We enjoyed getting to know him. Otto is a great cat - friendly, confident, and playful. He liked coming back from his wanders to sleep on either beds, or chill on the landing. A wonderful companion and we miss him already!
I enjoyed my stay at Gitte's lovely house, the area is full of parks and gives a countryside feeling while in London, and the cats are so sweet and friendly. The communication with her was also great. I highly recommend ❤️
Our time with Indy and Pipin was truly delightful. These two adorable cats are not only playful but also have an insatiable passion for food, making it nearly impossible to resist their charm! The apartment itself is a gem, high ceilings, a sunny balcony, and an amazing location. Susie, the homeowner, was exceptionally friendly. She provided us with clear instructions and a lot of valuable tips on must-visit places in the area. Communication with her was not only effortless but also filled with warmth and positivity. We wouldn't miss the chance to spend more time with Indy and Pipin, and without a doubt, we recommend this house-sitting experience to others!
I had the loveliest week, staying in Jane’s beautiful brownstone apt while caring for Penelope. Jane made sure I was very comfortable and was so generous with her place that provided all the comforts! The location of her apartment could not be better. Walkable to everything! Penelope is a sweetheart and warms to you slowly. We were pals in a short time:) I welcome the next opportunity to care for her and Jane’s beautiful home!
