Wonderful pets! Wonderful people! Wonderful place! Scout and Sophie were sweet companions during my time in Moab. They were a fantastic pair to wander the trails with- I could rely on them as trusty off-leashers, and they clearly love being out in this beautiful area, with Sophie pouncing at lizards and Scout delighting all who we met on trail with his fluffy, adorable looks. These pups were a great balance around the house- they loved a good cuddle and attention and affection, but they were also happy to be independent if I was going off to explore on my own for a bit. The house is a dreamy place, filled with Barb's art so it has a unique warmth. Everything was super comfortable, and their deck is ideal for anyone who likes to stargaze or just bask in the sun with a cup of coffee. Communication with Barb and Charlie felt easy- I was fortunate to meet them the night before they left and they were so generous with their home and themselves. While on the sit, Sophie experienced some health issues, and I felt supported by Barb and Charlie to seek care from a vet- again they were easy to communicate with even in a challenging time when their loved one was unwell and they were far away. 100% recommend!
We had a lovely weekend at Mike and Michelle's home. Everything was so well-explained, and we knew exactly how to take care of Indy. The house is beautiful and comfortable. The neighborhood was perfect for walking Indy, with a park nearby and friendly neighbors. The room was comfortable and quiet. Michelle communicated regularly. Indy was a joy! He was well-trained and fun to play with and take for walks. We would love to return to Mike and Michelle's whenever they ask.
We had such a wonderful time sitting for Marjan! Daisy is as sweet as can be, an affectionate and adventurous dog who was great company on our daily hikes around the gorgeous island of Samos. She is easy to care for and even easier to be around. The cats, Minnie Mouse and Filio, are just as sweet and loving once they warm up to you. And of course, taking care of the little puppy Houdini for a few weeks was quite an entertaining challenge, but we're happy he's found a forever home. As for Samos, it's a truly beautiful island and we were thrilled to have a month to explore it. There are endless hikes, beaches, scenic drives and small villages to visit. We visited in winter, so often had villages and hiking paths all to ourselves, which was a dream. Marjan was kind enough to leave us her car, which made it very easy to get around, although there is also a bus. Marjan also has a wonderful community of friends, who were so welcoming and helpful during our stay. Marjan's house was very well suited for us (a couple), including a cozy living room with fire for chilly winter nights, and a yoga studio for our daily practice! It's location is stunning, in the middle of small vineyards, overlooking both mountains and sea, with quick access to many hikes in the Nightingale Valley. We were especially spoiled as the orange and lemon trees near the property were full of fruit, so we were able to grab fresh citrus every morning when we took Daisy around the vineyard. Overall, we couldn't help but see why Marjan has fallen in love with Samos and her animals, and hope to return again one day.
This stay was truly a pleasure. Ryan and Keelie are warm, and welcoming. Their home is so peaceful and organized, so the stay was really simple for me. Communication was extremely easy and fluid. Above all, Bo, Stevie, and Hendrix are abundantly pleasant housemates and quite easy to care for. They are fairly emotionally independent animals, but all three of them had their own way of warming up to me. They are not the kind to be glued to your heel (although Hendrix sometimes is so curious that he comes close) but they all enjoyed being together with me in the room. Both Bo and Hendrix very politely requested to sleep near/with me. I really fell in love with the trio, and was sad to say goodbye.
Chloe & Olive's apartment is conveniently located in downtown DC in a safe neighborhood. Olive is very easy going with humans and dogs. She's super food motivated which is the perfect teaching opportunity for an experienced pet sitter or trainer.
