Duha (Dede) could not have been more helpful! We had a wonderful experience leaving our home and two dogs in her care. She sent regular updates and managed both pups with love and patience, including our young terrier puppy. The house was absolutely spotless when we returned. She was considerate, thoughtful and kind and we feel so lucky to have connected with her. I could not recommend her more!
Suzanne and her family were so lovely and kind. They even picked me up from the train station and dropped me off there on my last day and Suzanne took me to the grocery store when I arrived. Suzanne and her husband were lovely to chat with and left very detailed, helpful information and instructions for me. They even washed Nutmeg before I arrived, so I did the same before they came back, which was easy as they have a great bath set up in the yard, with warm water ready! I thoroughly enjoyed taking care of Nutmeg and Hurst was very pretty. For a village, there are a good amount of sidewalks, pubs and a little shop not too far and it's easy to order a grocery delivery a few days in advance for sitters without a car (or a take away) :) Nutmeg is a wonderful, sweet dog with a big personality and a good amount of energy. We had loads of fun walking through the fields and around the village and Nutmeg loves a game of fetch! I miss Nutmeg and had a great experience in this beautiful home with this cutie!
What a pleasure it was to house sit in the beautiful Pyrenees with such wonderful animal company and delightful owners. Florence, the sprocker is adorable and one of the best trained dogs we know. She's very happy in cars and came on most excursions with us. Mathilde the rescue cat has a loving relationship with Florence and together they are amusing company. Add to the mix 4 ducks and 16 chickens who gave us a daily supply of eggs and our menagerie was complete. House-sitting in March/April had its challenges with weather which ranged from warm sunshine to blowing snow (which lasted less than 48 hours)but this was part of the charm of this magnificent valley and the small village where the house is located. On several occasions we drove to Spain for tapas and surprisingly less expensive shopping. The scenery in all directions is impressive and walks into the woods are straight from the house. Deer roam the fields and birds of prey pass overhead. Ian and Helene, the owners, took us out to dinner the night we arrived in Ferrere and spent time with us the following day to make sure there was a smooth handover. They left detailed instructions and phone numbers. Their farmhouse is spacious and very comfortable and on the snowy evenings we relaxed with DVDs in front of the log fire, with Florence on our lap and Mathilde lying close by. The kitchen is large and very well equipped and if you enjoy cooking Ian owns virtually every spice known to man, along with a wide range of cookery books! Helene has two hot houses full of lettuces, leaks, onions, rocket etc which she encouraged us to use, along with the plentiful supply of eggs! If you love peaceful countryside, friendly neighbours, excursions to historic villages and towns, walks in unspoilt woods and the most enchanting animals then you'll enjoy this house-sit immensely. We'd go back in a heart-beat.
Sara’s place is super comfortable and she was great about making sure we had everything we needed for our sit. The house is in an awesome location for exploring Austin with yummy tacos, coffee & other food trucks just a 5 minute walk away. Zelda, Kiki and Cosmo are sweet kitties each with their own unique personality. Zelda loves snuggles, Kiki is adventurous and Cosmo will give out cuddles too once he has a chance to warm up to you. I highly recommend this sit, thanks again for having us!
