Ashley
Hank, the feline friend, was affectionate during my visit. He definitely responds to treats, and will just snuggle up when you least expect it.

Ashley's instructions were superb ! All of the detail around caring for Hank, the vets, the local hiking and other activities are included in a binder - there was a ton of thought that went into ensuring sitters had all they need...

The apartment is lovely, and the decor reflects Ashley and Beau's taste perfectly. When I first met Hank prior to my sit, Ashley showed me everything I needed to know, and that made my sit very easy...

This is a great sit - if you are interested in exploring SLC or Park City this is the one !

Great experience! The hosts are very kind and John is such a lovable dog. The house and neighborhood is very nice, close to everything. Thank you for this opportunity.

The 2 dogs are so friendly and love any kind of attention and snuggles. Take care not to wear any clothes that will easily rip upon your first entrance because (like many dogs) they jump up a lot in a whirlwind of excitement upon first meeting, and the paws certainly can scratch clothes/skin if not prepared.

The hosts are very friendly and nice and are good communicators. Instructions are provided that cover everything you need. Make sure to request those as soon as the sit is approved.

The house is big, spacious, comfortable, and the garage gym is a dream.

The location is a short 10-20 minute drive away from different happening parts of Austin and is a nice quiet suburban neighborhood.

Thank you!

Sarah
Apologies for the late review, it was a pleasure to sit for Cuddy & Dreizehn in such a lovely part of Norway. The two cats differ much in personality but were both a lot of fun. Outgoing Cuddy is the queen of house and she will basically consider you the butler. Dreizehn is shy at first but we were became fast friends after a bit of brushing and coaxing on the couch the first night. The house is homely and though on a hill above downtown, amenities are not far away. It can take some logistical planning to get to some trailheads without a car but one is able to get to most places by bus + bike in the summer. Future sitters might consider signing up for the Getaround app to explore the occasional car hire options. Sarah was also kind enough to lend us a book with hiking suggestions. Communication was good when it counted and the sit was very chill overall. There was a bit of a mixup with the exit date but Sarah was able to resolve it quickly without any negative effect on my plans. She was also kind enough to ship me some personal things I left behind at the house. I can recommend this sit.

Caroline
This was an additional day to my booked sit of 10-16 July.
Communication with Caroline and John was great both leading up to and during  the sit. I met them before they left and they welcomed me with great kindness and generosity into their lovely home. The welcome guide had everything I needed. Hettie and Tilly are delightful and I knew I was in for a great week with lots of cuddles !!

Prior to the house-sit we had chatted to Clare and Shaun on facetime, so when we arrived, we felt like we already knew them. Clare and Shaun are a lovely couple who settled us in quickly and explained everything the evening before our sit started, and we then joined them for an evening meal. They are very generous and thoughtful beyond expectations. Clare is ultra-organised and left clear care guidance that we could refer to when needed. The cleaner and gardener continued to call during our stay, but we also enjoyed helping to maintain the garden and greenhouse plants. Clare arranged for her usual weekly dog walker visit, which allowed us to visit local attractions knowing the dogs wouldn't be left home alone for too long.
Gatherwynd is a beautiful picture postcard comfortable grade 2 listed home, lovingly improved and maintained. The house is fascinating with the timbered frame wing dating back to the 1600's. Every need is met, and it was a joy to stay in the house and relax in the well-kept beautiful gardens. We were invited to help ourselves to apples, plums, damsons, strawberries, raspberries, cucumber, peppers, tomatoes… the list goes on!
Sherlock (giant Schnauzer) and Indi (miniature Schnauzer) were great fun to sit. Sherlock is a strong gentle giant who loves your company and sofa lounging. Indi is lively young girl with a cheeky and lovable personality. Both are affectionate dogs who love their walks and playing in the garden with their toys. They get on so well together. Both are adorable dogs which are great fun to be with. It has been a real pleasure to sit the little & large of the Schnauzer world and we will miss them both.
For suitable sitters, confident to handle a large strong dog, this is undoubtedly a dream house sit in the most beautiful of settings.
