Shelley and Patrick (and Valkyrie) were absolutely fantastic! From the initial communication, to showing up in DC early, to letting me chatter on about my pups, and asking any relevant questions. They cared for both my little pups so well, and sent updates and pictures all the time. They were incredibly responsive and I loved hearing about how the pups were doing, and seeing the pictures of all three dogs together. They even dressed the dogs up for Easter! Although I left them free range of the house, Shelley and Patrick were incredibly self-sufficient, and brought everything they needed! I was completely at ease, knowing the dogs were well cared for, particularly Daniel, who was on exercise restriction due to his heartworm treatment. The sweetest thing was coming back, and Patrick had cooked me his special pasta sauce, and left it in the fridge for me for dinner, along with some beers they collected from their trip! The house was all tidied up, the laundry was done, and they even had some groceries waiting on the porch to replace some they used, and replaced a mirror that broke. Neither was necessary, but just shows how thoughtful they are! If you have any hesitancy over their dog, don’t! Valkyrie is literally a dream dog, and both my little (15 pound) pups adore her. They were wonderful, considerate pet sitters, really fun people, and I really hope they come back to visit or pet sit again! -Rachel
