This was our first sit and a wonderful experience. Lenore and Alex are such great hosts and so prompt with communication. Baxter is the cutest little baby. He loooves his walks and once he knows your routine you better not miss the time you usually take him....lol. We also took him on some of our excursions and he travels well. Ellie is such a beauty and loves to be petted and will be your shadow until you spend some time with her. She loves to play with her toys. Rollo is such a handsome guy but skiddish at first. He will eventually let you pet him and you can get a hold of him to give him his meds. The house is beautiful and in a very nice area. When our flight home was canceled and we couldn't get another one for a couple of days, Lenore and Alex graciously invited us to stay. During this time we were able to get to know them and had a wonderful time with the. I am grateful for that time because it made us friends and I know we will stay friends and see each other again. I am glad I tried out trusted housesitters.
We loved staying at Joanna and Matt’s apartment, and adored little Bundle. Their apartment was clean, bright, confortable and very well located in a fun neighbourhood with easy access to Manhattan. Joanna’s instructions for taking care of Bundle were very clear and she always answered quickly. And Bundle was a cutie and easy to care for. We will miss him and would definitely do it again.
Very enjoyable sit. Susan has a large house located in a quiet, safe area, that is very comfortable, there was lots of space. Quick drive to shopping, and into San Diego. The large garden requires daily watering, but it is gorgeous. A dozen hummingbirds were buzzing around, so cute. Linus & Cooper are such adorable little guys. They are elderly, so require gentle card (especially Linus who is almost totally blind and deaf). They were happiest when I was home hanging out with them. Cooper was such a character, he always made me laugh. When I headed to the couch to sit down, he was like a rocket onto the couch first, ready to snuggle up, and make his funny little noises. Miss them! Susan was easy to communicate with, and I would be happy to sit for the boys again.
Two awesome pups, friendly humans, and the perfect neighborhood to visit. Elderly Zola takes life slowly, but is so full of love and was often at my feet. Baxter is so well-behaved in the house, but take him on a walk and he’s the perfect exercise partner! The very walkable neighborhood is filled with other dog-owners out walking and Little Free Libraries. Just a short drive to Alki Beach and Lincoln Park so Baxter could get his wiggles out! Wesley and Drew were very welcoming, even allowing me to arrive the night before my sit. I would be honored to be asked back :)
I didn’t met Johnny beforehand, but that didn’t negatively influence this pet sit. In fact, he has a lot of people around him (family, friends, neighbour) who are all very helpful and very kind!! Johnny wants the best for you as a petsitter and for the dogs and you feel this in every way. Couldn’t ask for more. He is a warm-hearted and caring person. He wants you to be feel comfortable as much as he can do for you. He is also flexible, I was aloud to come earlier and stay longer for this sit. The dogs are lovely, affectionate and strong (if you know the commands, practise this with them and they will listen to you). Tullah is the youngest and very energetic. She is the sweetest. She wants to be with you all the time, she loves you rightaway. (Give her cuddles, attention while playing with the ball in the beloved fenced fields and aloud her on your lap). Ted is more on his own then Tullah is and loves to search for and hunting after and wants you to support him with that. He wants to walk for hours if that’s possible. They both love to run and hunt in the wood but did this only after practise and recognising my voice, build trust with them and asked Johnny. Dogs both love to cuddle and be with you and hanging on the couch. The house is very well equipped. Is has everything you need. The place is very rural if you are used to the city, I loved it though: the silence in the evenings. You have neighbours and girls with horses around you, so you are not alone at all and I felt more than save as a solo woman traveler. I learned a lot with travelling in England, with public transport, but if you want to explore more (bigger city: Salisbury for example or the beach), I advice you to rent a car or come with your own car (if possible), also for coming to this place if your are travelling from the airports (if you like public transport in general it’s ok for you). If you don’t mind staying in this area, there are a lot of nature walks and nice views and enough to explore in the woods with all the wild garlic and deers in it. Thanks again Johnny for everything and would love to come back!
I really enjoyed my time with Phaedra. She was very easy to take of. She really seemed to enjoy when I brushed her, and she spent most of her day snoozing on her cat tree. Karen was great. She showed me everything in caring for Phaedra. I felt very comfortable staying in her beautiful house and being with Phaedra. The house is just a mile or so from Ballard in a nice neighborhood. I look forward to returning!
