Cat sitting for Chris and Frances was a lovely experience. We had a quick video chat to meet and greet with each other and Igi beforehand. Then I arrived before they left and they showed me around their very tidy and comfortable home. They'd cleared wardrobe space, fridge space and a shelf in the shower for me which was very considerate of them. They also had a lot of local recommendations. Igi was so easy to look after. He's a very relaxed cat. He licked to brushed every morning and they told me he would lead me to a spot he'd want to be brushed which was usually the front door for me. Everyday we played with some toys for as long as he wanted. He was mostly found napping on a couch or by the lounge door. He got lots of lap time, cuddles, brushes and scratches. He also liked to hang out with his friend (a neighbouring black male cat) who visited a few times. I sent Chris and Frances daily videos and updates and Frances was very good with communication from the beginning too. Greenwich is a nice place to explore and I was very grateful to have Frances bike to use. I highly recommend them and would be more than happy to sit for them again. My stay in Amsterdam could not have been better. I met Amelia the night before to ensure a smooth introduction to the flat and cats. She was very helpful and already well prepared from previous sit experiences. Apart from providing me with all important information about the stay, we also had a very interesting chat - happy to have met you!! :) The flat had everything necessary plus high-tech equipment to take care of the cats (automatic feeders and cat litter) so the usual pet-care was very low-maintenance. Phoebe and Chandler might be the most affectionate cats I have met so far. Chandler curls up on your lap as soon as you sit down on the sofa. Phoebe has her moments too, but she prefers being entertained actively. Despite missing one eye, she rarely misses an attempt to catch the toy. Both are also quite communicative (mostly when it comes to food) with the most gentle voices. The most lovely felines, I hope to meet them again!
Cameron and Stacy were amazing hosts. We met before the sit and left us very clear instructions. They are a super lovely couple. Ava is a wonderful dog and very easy to look after. She is very well behaved at home, loves to play and gets very excited on her walks. She kept us really good company. She took us to amazing walks along the river with astonishing views. The house is very comfortable and well connected with the city. When we arrived it was impeccably clean and tidy. The views of the river, city and mount Wellington are out of this world! Pictures don't do it justice. Internet connection was decent and we were able to work without issues. In the garden they have planted veggies that we could harvest and eat. Everything was delicious! We had an incredible time and would definitely would sit for Cameron, Stacy and Ava!
A great sit: Vince is a real sweetie, always up for a walk, and happy to have a sleep close to you at home - though he'll let you know in no uncertain terms if he'd like a treat or his dinner! Communication with Verity was plain sailing, she is very chilled and very kindly went out of her way to accommodate my work-related needs. The apartment is modern and well fitted out, as well as being very well located.
The stay with Elizabeth was very good, the house was very clean and comfortable, I had everything I need to have a good stay. Freya and Kenri behave very well in the house, sometimes they can bark at people who pass by near the house or to noises that they are not used to but outside of that they behave well. The only thing you have to consider is that the house is not close to the center of Stuttgart, when you arrive you can take the train to get to the house takes about 35 minutes, It is very well connected to public transport.
Sitting for Ramona was an absolute joy. She is an affectionate, adorable beauty; always at my side keeping an eye out for me. We walked at a leisurely pace mornings and evenings; with lots of stops for sniffing (Ramona, not me). You can’t be in a hurry with Ramona but then why would you want to be; you’re on holiday! It’s a nice neighbourhood with a very friendly vibe and everyone knows Ramona and stops to say hello. She loves people; other dogs perhaps not quite as much. Most she will ignore but occasionally there will be a bit of a growl and a tug on the leash. Just crossing the street works a treat. Sarah was a wonderful host and told me everything I needed to know about Ramona and lots more besides to make sure I enjoyed Philly and the local area. We talked regularly before and throughout the sit. She has a lovely, spacious home and I particularly enjoyed sitting on the deck with Ramona reading (Me not Ramona) watching the squirrels (both of us!). There is a train station just 5 minutes’ walk away with easy access to central Philly and all the sights. There are regular buses too; no need for a car if you don’t want to bring one. Manayunk is a lively little town just a 20 minute walk away (or one stop on the train) and has a nice variety of bars, cafes and restaurants. All in all, a great sit. Very highly recommend - 5 stars, 2 thumbs up and a bucket full of likes. Thankyou Sarah and Ramona for choosing me!
