This is a great sit! Oscar and Ollie are very sweet and cuddly cats and pretty low maintenance to care for. The house is big and has a large bath tub and a sauna in the backyard! There is public transport a few blocks away that will get you to SF, downtown Oakland or into Berkeley. Neighbourhood felt safe and was quiet. Downstairs tennants were very friendly. Elizabeth was super easy to communicate with.
Watching Tammera's pups was a delight. I had an amazing time cuddling with all the dogs. From their sun room you will enjoy the beautiful glow off the snow and the frozen Chena River where I spent time getting addicted to puzzles. If Jack is around then you have a real treat. he can tell you stories of days gone by that you have only heard about in movies. I am so pleased she chose me to watch them again later this year. My husband and I are truly looking forward to it.
If you like the feel of living in a beautiful home in the heart of a small town and looking after a lovely and fun dog, this sit is for you! We so enjoyed looking after Monty, meeting Carole and Robert and discovering Petworth. Robert and Carole are gracious hosts! We arrived the day before they left and had a chance to get to know them and Monty. Communication was great before, during and after the sit, and we received our fastest ever welcome guide. We walked Monty together the afternoon we arrived, and Carole cooked us a delicious dinner. Monty is a great dog! He will walk for miles and was friendly with all other dogs we met. We seldom had to have him on the lead except when crossing the highway in Petworth. He does guard his bounty – socks he steals and treats you give him, but we were always able to get his attention by offering some cheese. Robert and Carole’s home is beautiful, with a lovely view over the valley. The kitchen is large, well equipped and has a dining area and several very comfortable chairs. We spent much of our time with Monty here. Our bedroom was ensuite with a comfortable bed. Petworth House and Park is within a five-minute walk. It is a square mile in size with many beautiful walks and abundant deer grazing in the fields or relaxing in the woods. There are other walks from the back of the house in the Shimmings Valley. The town centre, an easy walk from the house, has restaurants, pubs, a fish monger, butcher, deli and small supermarket. Plus antiques and clothes shops. A great Indian restaurant, Meghdoots, is a two-minute walk from the house and also offers takeout. We strongly recommend this sit and hope to return someday!
We had a wonderful time housesitting for Kaye and Colin. Little Maggie was so easy to care for and such a delight. Kaye cooked us a delicious pie for dinner. Their home is beautiful and in a lovely location. We would recommend this sit to all!
Great location, beautiful home, clear instructions, friendly and excellent communication. But most of all the pets were so enjoyable - adorable, sweet and loving. A wonderful experience all around!
