Becca was amazing!!! She was very sweet and her communication was amazing. She sent lots of sweet photos of Sosa and it looked like she was having a blast. The house was clean and well respected and she even left us some beautiful flowers. She is welcome back anytime and would recommend!

From the moment we were first in contact with Val & Darren we were sure they were the right couple to care for our Cavalier Ella. We had regular contact prior to the sit and also exchanged many messages whilst they cared for our pet. A lovely couple that we would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.

When we select a sitter, we read every review in addition to conducting some sort of video interview. We really rely upon the experiences of past hosts, so that’s why I believe it important to be honest in this review. I love giving out 5 star reviews and do quite frequently, but I also need to share any less-than-positive experiences as well for those hosts who rely upon reviews such as we do. As such, I’m a bit ambivalent about writing this review of Katie, as there were some really good things Katie did while here. She is a lovely, energetic woman who responded immediately to the concerns I voiced to her during the time she watched our pets; however, the “negatives” we experienced speak to the heart of the importance of having a dedicated pet sitter. For the most part, our home was left tidy and neat – which is no small feat as ours is a large house and I appreciate the care Katie took in ensuring we walked into a clean home. That said, Katie failed to notice my dogs had urinated in both of their dog beds and on the floor of our downstairs office, which we believed happened in the first part of the sit and resulted in the downstairs smelling of stale urine. Further, because she didn’t notice the urine, my pets, when downstairs, had to either sleep on the bare floor or in wet beds, neither of which is a satisfactory option. Also, my dogs don’t generally urinate in the house as they have access to a doggie door, and this seemed more a sign of their distress or discomfort. I believe this incident was part of a larger problem I experienced with Katie and that was in the manner in which she approached this sit. I advertised dates of July 6 – July 22. We generally ask our sitters to come in a day or two early as to walk them through the schedule for both our animals and our many plants, as well as to give them time to get to know the animals and experience a little of the town we live in. We also provide a very detailed introduction and welcome guide which outlines our expectations. Katie came in late in the day on the 7th, without personal transportation, which necessitated us picking her up and then my neighbor taking her to a rental cart company the next day because we left very early on the morning of the 8th. This abbreviated introductory time didn’t allow us to fully prepare Katie for the sit and allowed for some apparent “misunderstandings.” The “issue” for me was for the first five days of our 13-day trip, Katie was away from the house for up to 13 hours at a time – leaving our two, older rescue dogs, who have some separation anxiety - alone and with an extended time between meals. It was clear Katie was using this opportunity to visit many of the beautiful areas which surround where we live – hence using our home as more of an Airbnb to vacation – than a house sit dedicated to caring for our animals. Our dogs are fine with being alone for up to six hours but even that, for multiple days in a row, is, frankly, distressing to our animals and to us, as owners. To Katie’s credit, when I called and brought her daily, extended time away to her attention and reiterated my wishes the dogs not be left for more than 6 hours, she changed her schedule and while still gone every day, capped her time away at six hours. And, as I said, she is cheerful and responsive; hence, the ambivalence is positing my concerns with this sit. I think if Katie is provided with very clear expectations prior to the sit and understands exactly what is needed and expected, she will absolutely deliver. For whatever reason, from the start, this sit was rushed, there appeared to be too many misunderstandings, and it ended up being frustrating for us in ways other sits have not been.

This was the second time Julia & Peter looked after Bella in my condo and I was very happy with their level of attention and responsiveness. I could tell Bella was well taken care of and my place was left clean & tidy. I would have them sit again. Thank you again!

Natasha was a great Housesitter. The house was kept clean and tidy and she looked after our dog and cat wonderfully - following our typical routines and checking with us if anything needed clarifying. Natasha communicated regularly with updates and photos throughout the sit - I’d recommend her to others looking for a sitter

Laura was everything we could have asked for in a sitter -- clean and respectful in our home, calm and affectionate with our dog. She was unphased by our dog's energy level and size, and exercised him well! We'd happily have Laura back.

Melissa was great as always. She has stayed at our home 3-4 times and always does a great job.

Second time having Matt and Nikki. They were just as great as the first time! Very communicative and Benny had a great time walking the neighborhood with them. I highly recommend them.

Andrea was fantastic! Super considerate and very clean. Left the place as she received it. Took my pups on hikes and would have Andrea back any time!

Christina and Dale were everything my dog Dave and I could have hoped for in a sitter. They were caring, conscientious and loving towards Dave and delightful to deal with. Showed up on time, put in the work (coonhounds can be demanding) and sent daily reports and photos that made it impossible for me to feel guilty about leaving Dave behind this Thanksgiving weekend. I recommend them highly.

Emma arrived on time and followed all instructions on house and sheep care very well. She's a very thoughtful and honest person. If you have a chance to overlap with her, you'll be rewarded with connecting with an insightful soul immersed in the beauty and heartache of being a young adult in these times. She re-stocked the firewood without me asking, and she did dishes 2 of the 3 meals we overlapped. She was a bit late on the daily report a couple times (but I didn't give her a specific time!), and her cleanliness was just fine given the difficulties of cleaning this earth-made home during a rainy spell without more detailed instructions. I highly recommend Emma!

Greg and Brooke were absolutely lovely house guests. They were prompt, communicative, kind, and clean! Everything you could want in a guest! Waffles absolutely adored them, I was afraid she wasn't going to miss me! Brooke sent pictures and videos every day (which I LOVED), they played with Waffles in the backyard as much as the weather allowed and snuggled with her in the evenings. I came home to a clean and organized house, you could hardly tell that anyone had stayed. I would welcome them back in a heartbeat - couldn't ask for a better experience.

Amanda was our pet sitter from previous trip. She’s great with our pups, very caring and attentive. We were very pleased that Amanda was able to take care of our dogs again this time. Since Amanda is close by, we will definitely ask her again for next trip!

My dog Ash loved having Stone as a sitter! He was entertaining and took time to teach him run during his daily strolls. Stone was highly communicative and sent pictures of Ash daily! Great sitter here

When Magdalena and Tommaso applied, I looked at their profile and did not see much of review and what they had was all for dogs. After I had a video talk, I thought they might be good and welcomed them to my place with a little cat. When they came to get a key, I could tell that they were cat people. My cat doesn’t come out of under the bed but she did much quicker than usual, and more than that, she started playing with them…! I assume they enjoyed themselves as much as my kitty did, and I really appreciate their care for my fur girl full of energy. She really needed a good amount of play time. Magdalena was very quick in communication. She was not only quick in reply but also kind and responsible. It was nice to come back to a clean home with a happy cat after a busy work trip. Thank you so much, Magdalena and Tommaso!

Dena and her spouse were responsible, thoughtful and careful housesitters while I was on vacation for a week in August. They were flexible to a couple of short notice changes and responsive to my questions. My dogs, Lucy and Buster, were delighted to have guests here and stayed on their walk and feeding routine during Dena's time here. I am grateful for her accommodation and availability to care for my pets. Thanks for being on zeewoi!

Gabriela and Beata were incredibly helpful while watching Houdini and Birdie. They kept the place very clean and were easy to talk to and ready to answer our questions. Had a bit of a scare with our cat Houdini getting out at one point, but he earned that name for a reason. Would happily have them watch our place and pets again!

Anna was a wonderful pet sitter. She arrived early and was very interested in how things worked around here. She was very loving to our pets. She was great about keeping us posted about our elderly dog.

Cheryl & John were fantastic Chopper sitters and I am very grateful they were here for the 2 weeks while I was on holiday. The communication from the very first meeting on WhatsApp to the day they left was excellent. They kept me regularly updated with messages and photos while I was away and responded promptly to any questions I had, about a delivery I was expecting for example. They seemed to bond with Chopper straight away and in the note they left me they said Chopper warmed to them as he got used to them, it can take a few days sometimes. I got the feeling they enjoyed their time in Holmfirth and all it has to offer, despite the weather, it was very wet for their time here unfortunately. We had a few beers in town and a delicious burger at Lou & Joe’s on their first night before I left the next day and it was good to get to know them a little. I would certainly recommend them to anyone out there looking for friendly, reliable pet sitters and hope they can come back to look after Chopper at some point.
