This was a super sit from start to finish. Charlotte and Alex were friendly and easy to deal with. They welcomed us into their home and introduced us to their beautiful cat, Barnaby. We were given a choice of bedrooms and were made very comfortable. Communication was good and they replied quickly to messages. Barnaby stole our hearts from day one. He is young and still kitten-like: full of energy and playing one minute, then sleeping like a baby. He has the softest fur imaginable and enjoys a good head rub or to be stroked. He's not really a lap cat but tolerates being picked up and cuddled and just likes being close to people. We enjoyed the area too. Snaith is an attractive place with a good local store and several pubs within walking distance. If you love cats, then this is a dream sit. We really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return and spend time with Barnaby again. Thank you, Charlotte and Alex.
Fluffy, quirky, and super easy to care for - Chico loves his brush time, hanging out with you on the couch, and chasing butterflies outside! Catrina is a wonderful person and super accommodating. Her place is comfortable and located in a great area as well :) Thank you for having me!
We really enjoyed staying with Daisy. She is so sweet and great company. Kim and Ryan left clear directions and it was easy to coordinate and communicate with them. We sat for about 2 weeks, worked from home, explored nearby trails, and had a great sit experience.
Positives: Nandy is an adorable little dog, very intelligent and good natured, respectful and polite, well trained and very sporty, walks fast and happily - we ended up doing an average of 12 km of walking per day together, as well as an 800m altitude hike in the mountains. The cats are adorable and very easy going. Big, beautiful, spacious and comfortable apartment, conveniently placed by the park. Negatives: The reality was not fully presented in the description nor in the interview with Anne - although she did explain that Nandy suffers from separation anxiety and “does not take too well to being left alone”, it was only on the evening before I arrived that Anne sent me a message saying that a sitter “can only leave the apartment for a maximum of 30 to 60 minutes, only Monday to Friday within working hours, in order to prevent the neighbours being disturbed by the barking and/or for fear of what it does to the dog’s nervous system” I most definitely wish I would have been given this information prior to deciding whether to take this job. I ended up never leaving Nandy alone in the apartment, I just couldn’t do it since he would bark desperately and incessantly, but not being able to ever be on my own for 2 weeks was frustrating at times, especially since I couldn’t do any activities or go to places that are not dog-friendly. Anne did organise for a pet-walker to come and walk Nandy 4 times for 90 minutes in 2 weeks, time for me to go and do food shopping for myself. Another problematic point for me was the fact that there was a home camera installed in the apartment, which Anne uses to follow the dog’s behaviour when left alone. I did not feel comfortable with this. Upon negotiation, Anne did enable my access to the camera and assured me that she will not be using her access to the camera during my stay.
