Rachel & Mike were very welcoming, sharing supper the night before they left which was a great way to get to know each other and their lovely flat. Polly is an elderly little dog, affectionate and playful in the house. She was quiet sleeping overnight in my room, though needed to be let out early in the morning (around 6am most days). She needs regular trips out, down the steps to the garden and a couple of short walks locally. As she is on medication for joint pain it’s better not to walk too far, though Rachel has a dog buggy if needed, though Polly did not like me picking her up into it! I found her very wilful about where she wants to go, did snap (in the early days) and needed a lot of persuasion out on walks sometimes. She was snappy with other dogs who came near, and was happier in the enclosed areas rather than wide open spaces (I think she is nervous and she responded to soothing and stroking). She enjoyed coming out in the car to Inverleith Park and meeting/playing with my grandchildren with whom she was sweet natured. The flat is a beautiful period property with high ceilings and lovely artwork, in an attractive part of Edinburgh. Buses into the centre are nearby and easy to use, I was able to explore some galleries as Polly was happy to be left for a few hours (afternoon mainly when she sleeps). I’d love to stay again.
Sue and Rob were fantastic hosts! They made me feel welcome from the very start! It was wonderful to get to know them and their beautiful menagerie. All animals were extremely well behaved, and very sweet! Jess and I had some great walks together, and she also loved snuggles during the day and night! I would not hesitate to recommend Sue and Rob to any pet sitter, contemplating a sit in Portugal!
Walter and Lula are darlings, sweet and smart! We had sad time to say goodbye to them. The two birds are so cool. It is my first time as a bird sitter. And it was enchanting to see a bird playing by my bed when i woke up. They are loving couples and warm my heart to see them cuddle. The house was beautiful and well designed. The last but not least, Kim is very supportive and kind. Five stars and beyond!
This was a great sit. Susan is an easy host and her house is beautiful and comfortable. I enjoyed the outdood seating areas, which had a peaceful tropical feel. Izzy was simple to care for, but I didn't see much of her. She let me pet her a few times, but mostly kept to herself. You just have to let a cat be a cat...
Ilenia was so lovely right from the start and communication was great. Their flat is stunning with beautiful views and it was honestly an amazing experience. The amenities: spa & gym were lovely too. Kirke is a very chilled out cat and will spend most of her time lounging around. She will come to you for bed time cuddles once she is comfortable! She was great to look after and the fish were easy too. The location was amazing for me to explore the central area and I was so well connected to everything. They even left food options for me and they have a good book collection! Thank you Ilenia and Alessandro for having me!! I would happily come and sit again and would recommend this sit to anyone!
Sunny is so adorable, she didn't want to leave my side. Whichever room I was in she was as well (a little separation anxiety but to me so adorable)💞 She gave the best nap snuggles. On our walks she was determined to bring me to her friend's house (she knew the way, so smart) I had to pick her up to get her on a different path for our walks. She loved to be held!! She was so adorable and made setting her down so hard, I would have carried her the whole walk. But how would she exercise?? 😂 I would definitely go back to Minnesota to watch her again. Sunny's family was super welcoming when I got there. They made it very easy to coordinate the stay!! The Minnehaha falls is so close to their home, I walked there a lot! Explored the trails and took in the surreal nature vibes 💕 🫠 Definitely a sit I won't forget!!
