Ayanna was fantastic! She really cared about the well-being of our pets and she went above and beyond by doing extra laundry and cleaning. She sent lots of photos and updates which I always appreciate. Best of luck on your travels, Ayanna!
Whilst we only completed a short housesit caring for Lucy and Bodie, they were very easy to love and look after! Whilst the dogs have run of the house (expect them to cuddle up to you on the couch!) they are both gentle in nature. The location is a short drive from the picturesque Port Townsend which offers many gorgeous boutiques and cafes. For their first THS sit (and one with short notice) Crissy and Erik were gracious hosts and responded to any messages promptly.
We came to solve the great mystery of the Town of Petaluma. What is a Luma and where do I Pet one? We never found the elusive Luma but we found a Juno and she is so wonderful that they should rename this town to PetaJuno…. This really was the perfect experience. Tracy and Rick’s home is one of the most unarguably cozy and welcoming homes we’ve ever encountered in our THS adventures, a lovely classic 1800s home on a hill in a scenic and charming town that has a stellar Hollywood history. In the 1980s Coppola himself filmed his time travel fantasy “Peggy Sue Got Married” just a block away from here and George Lucas got his cinematic start here with “American Graffiti” But all Hollywood history aside what charmed us was the incredibly positive energy of Tracy and Rick’s exquisitely maintained and charming house, their kindness and generosity, and how all that came together to make us feel welcome and very much at home. We simply cannot say enough good things. On a five star scale this experience deserves 49 stars and it would have been 50 if it lasted just a bit longer or if we could pack Juno and Ethel with us when we went The positive energy of the entire family ( human and animal) is wonderful. The inevitability of parting with the lovable and playful Juno was the one drawback . She is a delightful young BerneDoodle a quirky and humorous cutie with eye lashes so long and lovely they would make any 1940s pinup girl green with envy. She is a very well behaved, very docile and pleasant dog, very social, very affectionate and absolutely a delight in every way, a social charmer who everyone wants to pet. At home she is a bit of a couch potato and being able to “couch” with her is like spending the evening with lovable and affectionate plush dog. She loves sleeping in for late mornings and she is more like a cat that way. A very playful yet relaxed pup! And the last but not the least there is the feathered “working” family member, Ethel the Chicken We absolutely fell in love with Ethel , she recently lost her chicken partner Lucy so we made sure to visit her as often as we could , at least 4 times per day , she is very talkative and even allowed me to pet her each and every time! As a reward - receiving an egg per day was just magical We would visit again and again and would repeat this sit in a heartbeat, one of the absolute favorites to date
We very much enjoyed looking after Diesel, he loves his routine and is such a cutie and a softie, we enjoyed taking him on his three walks per day and snuggling with him on the sofa. Colette was always easy to communicate with and helpful. She left detailed instructions, which gave us complete confidence to take care of Diesel. The flat itself was cosy, easy to work from and local shops were a 10-minute walk away. We would definitely take care of Diesel again, should dates allow. Johanna and Neil x
Henry is a kind, considerate and generous host. He let me arrive a few days early and stay a few days after the sit for which I am very grateful. He’s a good cook too and made some very tasty meals. The house is in a very pleasant neighbourhood, with good town walks nearby, and also along the waterfront. It is well served by buses and the metro and it is very easy to get to the museums and other tourist sites. The house is spacious with wooden floors throughout and, being 4 storeys, has a lot of wooden stairs. Gigi (Genevieve) is a lovely affectionate old cat whereas Harper is a gorgeous but strong-minded individual. I miss them both and would love to see them and Henry again.
Fantastic place, town, dog parents and dog! Picturesque, relaxing, comfortable - truly excellent all round!
Awesome sit! Lovely clean home! Chisos was my neighborhood tour guide. He showed all over the connecting neighborhoods, introduced me to the neighbors, and was great company. The lovely ladies in the hen coup delivered yummy eggs and entertained me with their requests for treats. This has become my favorite neighborhood in Austin - close to everything by car and a short walk to the bus stop. Sarah left clear easy to follow instructions.
