Narelle’s little fur-family are absolutely gorgeous. I fell in love with them all. And Narelle’s home is beautiful too. Narelle herself is unbelievably thoughtful and kind. You won’t find a better host. The location is great also, with lovely beaches nearby and parks all around. I was very sad leave this sit. Thank you Narelle for sharing your beautiful home and fur-family with me. All of you have a special place in my heart. 💜
This good review is long, but worth the read, I hope! Leslie and Michael were very helpful homeowners, showing and telling me everything I’d need to know or do during my 3-week stay. Their home is bright and spacious with a well-appointed kitchen; the property is bordered by woods in the back and a large crop field in the front, affording privacy. The town of Rock Hall is small but very charming. I was there in winter, so it wasn’t as active as summer time, but still a lovely place to visit. There were probably more boats in dry dock than there are locals, but the locals I encountered were salt-of-the-earth friendly and helpful. Coastal areas are very picturesque and peaceful. The various birds who inhabit or visit the area are also a pleasure to watch. Now to the feline ladies…it’s an interesting dynamic among the three of them… Lola is so mild-mannered and quiet. She curls up in one of her few favorite spots most of the day, and sits patiently near her bowl when she’s hungry. She takes her twice-weekly treatment like a trooper! Lola usually keeps to herself, but she’ll surprise you when she seeks out your attention and affection. Quiet though she may be, the other two ladies seem to exhibit a deference to her as the Grand Dame of the trio. Peaches, aptly named considering her faded creamsicle coloring, is ever so dainty. She sits like a lady, “sings” like a bird, is soft as silk, and keeps herself quite impeccably groomed. I joked with Leslie that Peaches must be the cleanest cat east of the Mississippi, given that she seems to spend half the day licking her fur. She loves to be stroked, and will seek out your lap for your attention when she’s in the mood. She’ll take over your lap for as long as you’ll let her. Now to Lucy…she’s the strongest personality of the three. She will let you know in no uncertain terms when you have acted against her will, as she did with me the first two days. By day three, though, she became my little shadow, settling in near me wherever I was in the house, waiting outside the bedroom door every morning, and the first to greet me when I’d return home after being out for a while. She, too, loves the lap. She seeks the lap often, and, like Peaches, will settle in as long as you let her. However, she does NOT like it when Peaches is on your lap! Her ears flatten as she crouches, and her tail whips back and forth – and lands on the floor with an audible thump – as she stares at her “frenemy” taking over “her spot” on your lap. Interestingly, Lucy doesn’t seem to mind when Lola has commandeered your lap (evidence of some deference to Lola). None of the ladies liked my laptop when it was on my lap! They saw it as competition. This is long compared to many reviews, I know, but hopefully it can offer you first-hand insight into the three kitties you are considering spending time with. I thoroughly enjoyed them, fascinated by their dynamic, and I think you will be, too.
Maisie, Archie and as a bonus a mother cat and her kittens that Sarah was temporarily fostering were all at Sarah’s home. I have never been around such little kittens before… and it was a joy. Maisie and Archie are friendly and fun. They spend a lot of time outside in the big garden. The house is relaxed, comfortable and full of light. Sarah is very friendly, and welcoming. I had a great time.
