Julia and Chris dazzled me with their generosity of time, energy and devotion! They deserve not one but two Olympic gold medals for their superb pet-sitting and stellar house-sitting services they provided me at my Arizona home during my 18-day sojourn to Japan in Nov.-Dec. 2023.

First and most important to me, this loving couple spent many hours developing a profound bond of deep trust and sweet affection with my 11-year-old tabby cat Evie, who is totally attached to me and very shy and usually self-isolating when other humans come to visit. (She almost entirely secluded herself when my granddaughter house-sat during my 18-day summer visit to see friends in Europe several months after my beloved wife died in Jan. 2023; and again Evie secluded herself with another young female house-sitter for the 7 days in October that I was in eastern USA.)

But animal-lovers Julia and Chris dedicated themselves to Evie’s emotional and physical welfare and, as a delightful result of their warmly inviting energy, and as proven by the photos they sent me, Evie began on the very first evening to emerge from her usual “hiding spot” (under the tablecloth of an upstairs round table) and start visiting them, sitting near them. Eventually she let them pet her and then brush her with the two grooming gloves (one for upstairs, one for downstairs). Julia and Chris even developed so much inter-species trust that Evie let them hold her (she usually only lets me hold her for 10 seconds at most, and rarely).

Julia and Chris’ major “triumph” in bonding with Evie (LOVE prevails!) provided huge relief for me while traveling and for the future, knowing that, because of Julia and Chris's efforts, Evie now has the capacity to bond with someone new in my absence. I had put the November Japan trip out of my mind after learning of her reclusiveness during the summer sojourn abroad until a friend encouraged me to give it one more try, and Chris and Julia made it a wonderful success.

I mentioned that this couple should receive two “gold Olympic medals,” not just one. They generously did all sorts of things in and around the house that amazed me, beyond the usual house-sitter chore of washing the linens, bedding and towels used (Chris and Julia re-made the bed in the guest-room and stylishly folded & rolled all the big and little towels).

Here’s just a partial list of what they graciously did for me beyond the norm:

--Fixed an expensive Breville espresso machine I had bought for my wife (two months before she passed) that had not been functioning properly for a year (due to chronic problems with the coffee bean grinder).

--Figured out how to re-start the complicated gas-long fireplace for the Fall-Winter.

--Labored hard to remove all the weeds (!) that, in the few weeks before my trip abroad, had rapidly grown amidst the gravel in the front and back yards and side spaces, and they also cleaned up some clutter near the house. They said they “needed some exercise.” Who else would freely do this?

--Cleaned the eight solar-powered pathway lights in front yard (dust-storms and other conditions in Arizona can cloud them).

--Usefully re-organized / displayed all my packages of veggies, etc., in the fridge-freezer pull-out drawer (duh, why had I never thought of that since moving into this house 18 months ago?).

--Improved the functioning of two other small appliances.

--Bought extra vegan food for me to have when I returned.

--Did all the indoor and outdoor watering, and, because they needed to depart for their next house-sit several hours before I was to arrive home, they documented all this in a calendrical table on a printed summary sheet about their house-sitting over these 18 days.

All of the foregoing should make clear that Julia and Chris wonderfully exceeded my expectations for house- and pet-sitting responsibilities. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Any homeowner and pet-owner will be extremely fortunate to have this lovely couple care for their beloved animal companion(s) and home.

I wish Chris and Julia the very, very best and all Divine blessings for their future adventures.

A very pleasant sit! Patty and Kevin are extremely nice homeowners with excellent, easy communication. I felt very welcomed into their home, located in a peaceful and quiet wooded area, that has all that one needs, along with very good internet connection. Their very sweet dogs, Jess and Ally, who get along splendidly, I found easy to care for. All in all, a sit that I would recommend. Thank you for entrusting me with the care of your home and great pets!

Instructions to get into the apartment and take care of Lucy were clear and easy to follow. Lucy was veey easygoing, walked well and was very sweet. Only recommendation is that the welcome package may need updating, it has Lucy’s dinner listed differently than what was in the house.

Bob and Gina are incredibly thoughtful hosts. The first night we were there (after an unexpectedly long day) we were taken in with such kindness. We all had dinner together, including Gina's wonderful sister who was visiting, and drank wine from the Tutto Doppio Vineyard! It was lovely getting to know them and getting to know their lovely "girls" as a unit on the first day. Everyone, including the animals, were incredibly warm. Throughout our visit, they were great communicators on Whatsapp and offered great local recommendations!

We quickly got to know Gidget and Buttercup on our long walks together, and as someone who has walked dogs as a job in the past, I was incredibly impressed with what good walkers they were! Parts of their walk are on more narrow shoulders or bends in the road and they would always walk on our right side, never pulling, and would stay close throughout. The walk around town is absolutely stunning and I was in awe every morning and evening walking through the beautiful area. It feels like you've been transported back in time. As far as Gidget and Buttercup back at the farm, all was well. Gidget mostly likes to lounge about and nap, popping outside for brief periods of the day to do her business and walk in close vicinity to the farm. Buttercup is more of an explorer and would like to spend a lot of time outdoors, sometimes napping on the deck, or running through the vineyard. Seems like a pretty wonderful life.

What is there to say about Luna? Oh, just that she's wonderful. She likes to drink from the bidet, which is hilarious and adorable. She is always striking poses around the garden and lounging in the sun. She's incredibly friendly and her personality always shined through. She also received medication daily and never made it difficult! Perfect little kitty.

It's hard to describe how beautiful the farm is. Everything is incredibly modern and beautiful, and the view over the mountain is out of this world. I highly recommend taking a dip in the jacuzzi overlooking the sunset.

We feel incredibly lucky that we found ourselves here and couldn't give a higher recommendation.

I had a grand time looking after Dolly and Wilma! Dolly is a young, energetic dog that will keep you endlessly amused. She and I bonded very quickly and she stayed equally loyal to me, her walks and her ball, throughout!
Wilma is an older, quieter, soul. Nevertheless, she accepted my sudden appearance in her home and enjoyed my attention when she was around.
This is a loving, close family, which embraces you in your desire to care for their pets and home. Walking distance to transport and amenities, you will want for little.

I LOVED my time with Frankie in Fremont! Such a cutie, and very talkative. Frankie can be a little spicy/bossy sometimes around mealtimes, haha, but she's good at communicating verbally, so you can get a sense of boundaries. And she will totally make you laugh over her antics. I've never seen a cat "brush themselves" with a wire brush so enthusiastically! She was friendly from the start but warmed up further during the visit, which is always rewarding.

The house is beautiful and full of greenery, and the porch gets gorgeous late-day sun. The work space options are great and included two adjustable standing desks! The house was cleaned and prepped well for my visit, and Sarah was very welcoming and responsive to questions. The location is *perfect* for exploring Fremont, which is definitely my favorite neighborhood in Seattle now. I'd happily sit for them again!

Everything about this sit was perfect. It was like a mountain retreat with wonderful animals. Auttie, Milo & Wali are mannerly, smart & have lots of personality. The dogs played together well & even Wali would sometimes join in the playful shenanigans. We spent most of our time with them in the backyard. We enjoyed multiple dog walks surrounded by beautiful scenery. A few times Wali joined us on walks as well. We simply fell in love with all 3 of them. Marilee was welcoming & her detailed instructions made it so easy for us to slide into the dogs routine. Their home is well maintained, updated & super clean. Simply a pleasure to stay with these pets!
