It was our total joy to look after Moby, Volker's little dog. We had a lot of fun times with him, our walks on the beach with him were a delight, as well as being greeted by him in the mornings for his favourite belly rub! He's like a happy little teddy bear, with lots of character. We enjoyed his company so much! Volker is a lovely guy, and we were so pleased to meet him, and sorry we didn't have more time to get to know him. We hope we'll get the chance to return again. He was so helpful and great with communication, helping us with bus and ferry timetables etc, and even came to meet us at the bus stop, with Moby when we arrived. He ensured we had all the info (local shops, cafes etc) that we needed to make our sit comfortable, as well as everything we needed to take care of Moby and his home whilst he was away. Volker's home was equally welcoming, and we enjoyed it's character and space, but most of all it's location, and it's rear view of the beach from the outdoor shower (there's an indoor one too, in the bathroom) after a swim. Ilha de Faro offers such a great way of life, we're seriously considering renting a place of our own there. The swimming is safe, and there is plenty of space to be found on the 5km long beach. We were able to buy everything we needed during our 9 day stay on the island, without having to visit a bigger supermarket. Local people were friendly and helpful, so we felt very welcome.
Lisa has a beautiful home in a great location that was an excellent base for us to explore Edinburgh. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the bus stop then approx 25 minutes on the bus to the city centre. The buses are very regular. The pets are lovely and pretty easy to care for. Corvi is the sweetest, most friendly dog and we very quickly fell in love with her. Pepa was a little shy at first but soon came out of her shell after we spent some time with her. She has a very sweet nature and loves fuss. Overall it was a great sit and Lisa gave us lots of information in advance and kept in regular contact with us throughout.
If I could give more than 5* for cleanliness, communication, and welcome - I would. Graham and Lindsay were so thorough in their explanations and preparations for this sit. Barnaby and Nilah are super sweet and loving, and give the *best* bedtime snuggles. Expect lots of face kisses and energetic walkies! There are a few little things to be aware of, these are clearly indicated in the welcome guide. The home is just beautiful, a real oasis in the heart of one of Vancouver's best neighbourhoods. Going to miss these gorgeous pups, if you get the chance to meet them you will absolutely not regret it!
It was an absolute delight looking after Emily’s adorable kitties, G.O. LeSmyrk and Captain Salazar. Emily was amazing at communicating everything! We were well set up for our housesit as she took time to take us through everything we needed to know. The house was gorgeous and in an amazing location. Very handy for public transport, close to the city and a large grocery store super close as well. We had everything we needed and more. Most importantly, G.O. and Salazar were a dream to look after. We enjoyed having kitty cuddles and coming home to their cute faces. We would look after these adorable fur babies again in a heartbeat!
