Leigh Ann
Leigh Ann and Jean Pierre are awesome hosts. They were more than happy to time dinner for my arrival, so we literally got to break bread upon first meet. Even got to try some of the local cuisine, which was delicious. Best of all, they told me fascinating history of the region and the people who live there.

It’s an old stone house in a village that seems to have been forgotten by time. Outside, the house is one long rectangle. Inside, there’s a charming layout of rooms designed in different styles. Depending on your mood, you could easily while away the morning, afternoon and evening in any of them and have a grand time. What I appreciated most is that the house felt like a home. There are cherished gifts from friends and fans on the walls and shelves; unique glassware in the cupboards that tell a family history (honestly, best just leave the dishes and plates heavy with sentiment in their rightful place); even specific LPs that get prominent placement over the rest of the collection. Leigh Ann and JP have built a truly colorful life together, and it’s a joy to see it so openly (and so proudly!) on display.

The responsibilities are as easy as they come, even with the additional step of giving Peavey his medicine, which he gladly drinks with his formula. Other than morning and evening feedings, there’s not much of anything to sweat over. Water the plants once a week. Add a capful of chemicals to the hot tub out back every few days. Communication was clear, and the instructions were easy to follow. If I had additional questions, Leigh Ann was always quick to respond via Whatsapp. To be honest, the highlight of the sit was our random chats over text. I even wrote down a list of movies and books I plan on checking out per her recommendation.

If there’s one downside to the sit, it simply comes down to the combination of the house being very remote and the cats, although *total* sweethearts, being painfully shy in *my* presence. Normally I’m fine with either circumstance. But if I’m going to be somewhere far away from everything, I really want the opportunity to bond with the animals. Peavey would occasionally relent to a round of petting. (He purrs like an engine when he finally understands what he’s getting out of the deal.) If you’re lucky, Hooty will directly seek out your attention. If you’re luckier than me, she’ll stick around longer. (And if you’re real still and realllllly lucky, you might just have yourself a lap cat. No joke!)

That said, this is a five-star sit. The owners are laidback. The village is unlike any place I've stayed. Peavey and Hooty keep their distance but also don’t stir up trouble. Kia, the neighborhood cat, is an utter delight. We clicked immediately, and after that she came loping my way whenever I called her name. (I wish I could have taken her with me!) If you’re a couple, it’s a really special place to share together. If you’re solo and *not* a loud boy, Peavey and Hooty might love you all the more. Otherwise, follow their lead and go about doing your own thing. :)

Great house, really nice people with great communication. Pets all easy to care for with full instructions. Frankie, the cat, a great character, Jenson, the spaniel, a friendly chap who loves to spend time with you. Rabbits, fish and tortoise not much trouble!

Jennifer
We spent 5 pleasant days in Jennifer's home. Toothless is a very cute, calm and affectionate cat who often came to cuddle us. She’s an easy cat to take care. Communication beforehand was very good, explaining everything to us. We didn't lack anything and the accommodation is ideally located just a few meters from the 19 and 48 bus stop. Thank you for everything and will miss Toothless!

Prudence
Dave and Prudence made us very welcome in their beautiful home. The garden is fabulous too with a mass of colour and fragrances. We enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing house sit in a lovely, quiet and peaceful area. Molly was the sweetest dog we have ever met and she is so well behaved and intelligent. We spent all our time together apart from a few hours when we dined out and she couldn’t come with us. She loves car rides almost as much as long walks. She slept in our room and was as quiet as a mouse. She is adorable! We also loved feeding and watching the flock of birds that lived around the garden. Thank you for a lovely sit and we would gladly do it again in the future, should you need us. Our best wishes to you both…..and to Molly!
