Heidi
This was my first THS and also Heidi's and I am so glad it was a great one. I really enjoyed my first sit with her babies. Her home is very nice in a well manicured, gorgeous and very friendly neighborhood where several of the neighbors introduced themselves as I walked the dogs several times a day. I stayed in the guest bedroom on the first level with my own private bathroom shown exactly as her pictures on her listing. The home was new, clean, beautifully decorated and has high speed internet for those who work remote. We worked together through the communication, needs and instructions through Facetime, texting and phone calls. I sent daily communication and updates with photos several times a day. She left detailed instructions as well and was very responsive to any texts. The dogs stay nicely in the laundry room together when you are out. They are so adorable!

Odysseus is a BIG mama's boy and he is a lover. He needs to be walked to help burn his energy which is really not that high level as I expected just he is a protector by nature and would like to see what is going on at all times. His walks were his favorite, ball playing not so much for me....just wanted the treats! He is EXTREMELY food motivated as Heidi described and warned me before hand. He will take every available opportunity to take any food left anywhere so as she instructs keep everything behind closed doors-pantry, fridge or in the trash in the cupboard and nothing on the counters. If you follow her instructions you will be fine. He loves to try to sit on your lap and lay in the sun on the deck while I worked that way he can see what is going on which he enjoys. He does lick his front paw raw due to allergies and he wears a bootie that you have to chase him down to get on him the first time I was there- LOL- but after the first 12 hours of it on I then took it off and he stopped licking every time I talked to him, held it up and warned him he was getting it on again! . He would give me that look like oh boy and an eye roll in his Odysseus way-it's pretty funny. After that he really never licked it again while I was there. Other than that he slept on the couch while I worked or watched TV-he's pretty quiet and calm. If you are on conference calls it is better to have him and Buddy in the laudryroom during that time. He is excellent on the leash and does not pull at all-really enjoys his walks. He is a big baby and liked it when I held his paw when he slept on the couch next to me-something I do with my own dog with the same personality.

Buddy, he stole my heart all the way-100%! Adorable! Always looks like he is spazed out and missing something going on. He makes me laugh with that look! He loved to sit on my lap when I was enjoying the deck and he is also good on the leash. Loves to sleep in the sunshine. He is not up for long walks so expect to carry his cuteness if you walk longer but he does enjoy a good walk and sniffing so don't leave him behind or just stop for breaks like we did! He loves a bit of rough housing play with my hand and he sat in my suitcase as I packed up. When I went to say good bye he was on his two back feet and had both front feet up to pick him up which honestly bought me very close to tears, I caved and did pick him up. I forgot how nice it was to have a small dog you could cuddle as mine are all large currently.

One thing to note is I fed Buddy in a separate area of the kitchen than Odysseus as they had a little spat my first feeding and I don't know if it was because I was a new person or I missed something when I went to put the canned dog food back into the fridge but it was over as soon as it started. After that I fed them the same way-in separate areas in the kitchen and they were fine.

I enjoyed my time in NC and seeing the area and would sit for Heidi again if the opportunity ever presented itself. It was very welcoming and a great sit! The boys were great!

Rupert
Rupert and Laura made us very welcome in their lovely comfortable home. The communication was great throughout and the handover thorough.
We looked after their five lovely dogs who really enjoyed their walks and cuddles, they were all such great company we would not hesitate to return to do another House Sit with them.
The chickens all three of them were kind enough to lay us an egg or two for our breakfast each day and were very easy to look after.
We would thoroughly recommend this sit.

Kate
This was a beautifully serene and peaceful housesit with wonderfully comfortable accommodations and the sweetest dog ever and a lively kitty. The location was great as it was about two to three miles from anything and everything in Asheville, plus in a neighborhood with trees and quiet. The guest bedroom had a wonderfully comfortable and soothing bed plus a large window that looked out on the branches of many trees, like being in a tree house - a spectacular couple of hours watching the moon move across the sky and branches as it set one morning; simply exquisite. The furniture was so very comfortable. There was a ping pong table and hula hoops!! Plus a hottub!!!!

Jinger, the dog, was the most sweet and patient - she would wait to be invited on the bed! She would mostly sleep at the bottom of the bed, occasionally coming up closer to my head in the mornings to see if I was awake!! When I didn't move or pet her, she simply returned to the bottom of the bed to wait for me to wake and pet her. Her favorite treat is eating an ice cube!! Milo the kitty hung around close, mostly waiting to see if she could speedily (and, I mean SPEEDILY) race down the stairs to make an attempt to get out the door when it was opened for the dog to go out! The race of the dog and the cat down the stairs was very entertaining!

Communication with Kate was easy. Her orientation was thorough.

I felt so nourished by being in this nurturing, peaceful setting.

Lindy
I couldn’t have had a better stay. I felt so at home and comfortable and the location of the flat is amazing. I also felt really safe in the building which is a big bonus when staying alone at times. But the star of the show without a doubt was Blue. He’s such a sweet and funny character and I really enjoyed bonding with him throughout my stay.

Lindy is great at communicating and made sure I had and knew everything I needed. It’s so clear that she’s a really lovely and genuine person - which makes housesitting for her even more of a privilege.

I would happily come back to look after Blue again!

James
We felt super welcome in James’s home and enjoyed our sit. James was fantastic at communicating if we needed to check anything. Kitkat and Luna are just wonderful! KitKat loves all fuss and attention! Luna was a little bit nervous but she has such a sweet, gentle temperament, she was no problem at all. All in all, both pets were easy to look after and we would love to sit for James again. Thank you for having us ☺️

Sara
I visited Sara the night before the stay and got the keys and every bit of information imaginable about looking after Stars and where everything in the neighborhood is. The neighborhood is perfect, the Capitol Building just 10 mins up the hill, Capitol South Metro Station 5 mins up the hill, Wholefoods Market 5 mins in the other direction, lots of restaurants nearby. Stars and I would start early everyday, walk up to the Capitol Building and on down the National Mall, same in the evening both Stars and I enjoyed these walks when there aren't a lot of people around, surrounded by Washington's landmarks.

I think it would be hard to find a better sit than this in DC, thank you Sara.
