Karen and I enjoyed our time with Lenny & Squiggy while Lorna & Dave travelled with their dogs. Lenny & Squiggy, "the boys" live on a beautiful, rural property, as the pictures show. The boys are outdoor cats, so we spent a lot of time in the lovely gazebo where we could all work on jigsaw puzzles together, and we could enjoy their truly affectionate natures. No shy cats here! Perfect. The house, itself is wonderful. It is spacious, beautifully and comfortably decorated with a chef's kitchen. This home is immaculate! Lorna encouraged us to host friends during the sit, and we took them up on that offer. Sharing a meal made in the kitchen and enjoyed in the gazebo with the boys. Lorna was an excellent communicator before, during, and after the sit. We had a thorough tour before they left, and detailed instructions for us to refer to while they were gone. She is a kind, warm, thoughtful, and generous host. couldn't ask for more. The property offers spaces for bird watching (it's on a major migratory path, so if you're there during fall or spring, you will be blown away), and it has access to Netley Creek (sadly, we just didn't have time to launch our kayaks, but it's a perfect spot for that). We highly recommend applying for sits that Lorna posts.
I had a wonderful but brief stay at Michele and Bill's home in the High Desert community of Albuquerque. On the surface, their two dogs, Frosty and Kohl, appear to be at opposite ends of the canine evolutionary scale. However, to the contrary, Frosty and Kohl share a vibrant, playful, loving energy that is infectious and heart warming. Bill and Michele's home is quite lovely with high ceilings and a deck that overlooks both the Sandia mountain and the city below. We communicated several times prior to my stay as well as throughout the stay and they were always available to respond to any questions. If you enjoy walking dogs in a beautiful high desert environment, you'll not want to miss this opportunity of sharing the path with two lovely companions
Nina and her family were very welcoming and their 3 dogs so well behaved and fun to be with! We had a chance to meet them all before the house sit and, during the house sit, enjoyed wonderful walks in the beautiful countryside.
We had a wonderful time looking after Judy's three well behaved adorable dogs. Despite Mikey's disability he was fun and very easy to manage. We were made to feel very welcome in Judy's comfortable house. Thank you very much Judy for all your attention to detail and making us feel at home.
Housesitting for Emma was an unforgettable adventure. The chance to connect deeply with her furbabies Tyra and Henry, revel in a delightful change of scenery, and savour the comfort of a meticulously maintained home was truly rewarding. Our gratitude for this experience and the wonderful memories we made is beyond measure. The joy of spending time with these two adorable furballs was an absolute delight. Their playful antics, cozy cuddles, affectionate purrs, and unique characters added a ton of happiness to our days. Witnessing their response to the care and attention we showered them with was incredibly heartwarming. Taking care of them was an effortless joy. Ensuring their meals and treats were served on time, maintaining their playtime routines, and showering them with love and attention were simple and rewarding tasks that deepened our affection for them. During the entire sit, Emma's updates about the cats' quirks and habits made us feel like part of the gang, even while oceans apart. Her shared snapshots of her holidays was like stepping right into her world. Seeing the cats having a blast and being a part of her vacation through her photos was a privileged and truly a breath of fresh air. Her thoughtful messages kept us closely connected. It was a reminder of how this housesitting adventure wasn't just about caring for the cats but also about creating beautiful human connections. Emma's big generous heart shines through our every interaction. Her recent act of taking in another abandoned cat further solidifies her love for animals and a testament of her exceptional character and a beautiful person that she is. When it comes to her home, it truly embodies the essence of simplicity at its finest. Her home is refreshingly clean and welcoming, exuding a tranquil ambiance that turns working from home into an absolute delight. Not to mention, her backyard garden offers a pleasantly spacious area, perfect for setting up a delightful evening barbecue if you're in the mood for it. Moreover, one of the delightful aspects of this sit was the chance to savour leisurely walks during the enchanting nighttime hours. The community's serene ambiance comes to life under the moonlit sky, which is perfect for unwinding and enjoying a beautiful stroll at night. In addition to these tranquil walks, D2 has an alluring huge pool that beckons us with its charm. While we have yet to dip our toes into its inviting waters, the pool's elegant and tranquil ambiance holds the promise of a refreshing escape from the everyday routine. The thought of future swims adds an extra excitement to our next confirmed sit with her in September. Looking back on these delightful moments with these beautiful souls while looking after their home fills us with anticipation for our upcoming housesitting assignment. We're eagerly looking forward to going back. Thank you Emma for everything and see you again in September. We are excited to meet the new addition to the family, Chloe! 🥰❤ xoxo
Dew Drop and Mist are so lovely! 😻😻 Dew Drop was my shadow from the moment I walked through the door. Mist took a little longer but, once he warmed up, was so playful. Jason has a lovely home and was very welcoming and helpful, with clear instructions. I'd love to see them all again.
