What a fabulous stay in one of Dallas’ best neighborhoods! Linda couldn’t have been warmer and more welcoming. Prior to our stay, we enjoyed visiting with her at her lovely home, which is set in a very leafy area and centrally located, close to everything. Boo and Lily are adorable with their own personalities. Boo was a little distant at first, but came around quickly, and then we were great buddies. Lily isn’t a lap kitty, but she is incredibly sweet and enjoyed connecting with us every morning and hanging out with us. Linda’s home is delightful with original paintings and adorable kitty collectables. She is very organized, and keeps her home clean and neat. It’s a wonderful place to stay, and add Boo and Lily on top, and you have the perfect sit! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and highly recommend Linda and her sweeties if you have an opportunity to stay!
We cannot recommend this housesit enough! We feel we arrived as sitters but left as friends. First and foremost, Bella is probably the gentlest dog we have had the pleasure to meet so far. She is delightful and happy, while at the same time extremely well-behaved and thoughtful. The way she runs with her front paws slightly stretched out will warm your heart in no time. There is a routine to her day, which involves a walk and some alone time in the morning, playtime in the afternoon, with a few treat times in between. And trust us, she’s very well aware of the time: she’ll stare at you with her cute eyes; be prepared to have your heart melt. She loves to get her belly rubbed, which we tried to do as much as possible especially in the first 24 hours after Cary and Nelly were gone, as she got a bit sad. Looking after Bella really is just joy and no hassle whatsoever. Secondly, Cary and Nelly - it’s hard to put into words how much we enjoyed our time with them. They are as kind and generous as they come, with a great sense of humour and taste in music. Both are creative, independent and open-minded spirits who are a joy to be friends with. We enjoyed many conversations and laughs over delicious meals and cocktails that they prepared with lots of love and attention to detail. Communication was easy and clear from the start. Last, but not least, their house is a stunner. Spacious, with all the amenities you could think of, and it’s decorated and lived in with love. We had our own room and bathroom, with a balcony overlooking the ocean, meaning we woke up to the sound of ocean waves every morning. The heated pool was great to hang out in, and we enjoyed watching the ocean from the lower terrace and the palapa. Making coffee and cooking meals in their well-equipped kitchen was a lot of fun. It’s in walking distance to the buzz of Sayulita, many beaches and beautiful jungle hikes. If you get a chance to do this house sit, don’t hesitate- but be prepared to have a hard time leaving. -The pets We absolutely adored Phoebe and Winnie. We really bonded with them and they were easy to care for. They played well together and loved playing with us. Phoebe always greeted us with a toy in her mouth. They have a nice garden for the dogs to play in but they also love walks, especially Winnie. We didn’t leave them home alone ever because we enjoyed their company but Sabine said they would be fine for just a few hours. Winnie is amazing for his age, super active and a crazy fast runner when you play ball. They were always around and Phoebe slept in the bed and we loved it. -The house In the quaint suburb of South Woodford next to a nice park. It was about a 17 min walk to the closest grocery store which was slightly inconvenient. It was also about a 15 min walk to the South Woodford tube station. The WiFi was great, but only worked well in one room, luckily the same room the dogs enjoy. That limited our work to one room of the house but it was still comfortable. It didn’t reach one of the living rooms or the bedroom well which made it hard to rely on data. The bed was pretty hard but quite big and the bathroom was small. The large kitchen and living spaces downstairs made up for it. The kitchen, living spaces, and garden were quite nice. Had everything we would need to wash clothes and prepare for the next trip. -Overall experience We really loved the pups, we had a special bond with them more than the dogs we usually watch. When Sabine returned, she was unsatisfied because she felt the dogs were overweight (even though we fed them exactly what was told and it was only 10 days). It felt like a slap in the face to care so dearly for the pets and that be the concern.
Keven and Sarah were great!! So friendly and really care about their animals. Audrey is a doll and warmed up to us quickly. The kitties definitely are less engaging, but were able to come around and show us their beauty! Would sit for them again!
Staying at Naomi’s was like a little slice of heaven :) it is clean, remote, and peaceful. Her cat, Zephyr, was talkative and friendly. She didn’t require much attention at all and slept on her own, so she was very low maintenance... If you plan on spending time outdoors, watching for ticks is important here! I would highly recommend if you’re interested in off grid lifestyle.
The fur (and non-fur) babies were a fun welcoming committee—Pod was adorable and the kids loved watching him run after his toys. Arya was playful and sometimes stubborn, outside was only meant for quick visits and they wanted back in. They both loved cuddles. Sauerkraut and Schnitzel were a little bit shyer but we were thrilled that Kraut warmed up fairly quickly. He was fascinating and our first naked cat. And was so warm and cuddly—we enjoyed him a lot. Thank you, Emily and Jordan for choosing us and letting us stay in your comfortable home!
