I really enjoyed housesitting for Richard in his beautiful home in Devon. Richard made me feel incredibly welcome and showed me around the place and introduced me to all the animals upon my arrival. He gave me very clear directions which was really helpful and also kindly let me help myself to fresh fruit and vegetables from his lovely garden. The three dogs, Saski, Talulah and Poppy, are really easy going and an absolute joy to look after. I enjoyed our walks with them in the beautiful surrounding area and our ball games. I also loved looking after all of Richard's other animals - the ducks and baby ducklings, the two very friendly goats, the alpacas and chickens. I would definitely housesit for Richard again and I recommend this sit 100%
What can said about Onyx, the beautiful dog of our hosts Miriam & Sylvie. A wonderful, loving, energetic and well trained dog that was a pleasure to sit for. As for our hosts, we arrived as strangers and left as family friends. A truly wonderful cultural experience. We feel that we’ve known them all of our lives, and we were absolutely overwhelmed by their generosity and hospitality. We would jump at the chance to care for Onyx again.
Lindy was very welcoming and always available to check in with. The flat was in a great location, had all we needed and was very quiet considering it was so near to the centre. Blue was a chilled gent who was very easy to look after throughout our stay. We enjoyed a nice long weekend here and would highly recommend a stay.
It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Didier and Roze's home. Communication was smooth and effective at all times despite the time difference we faced. We arrived the night before they left, and Didier and Roze explained everything in great detail. We asked if my mother could stay for a few days and they kindly provided a room and a bathroom for her - we're truly grateful. Spending time with Louie and Jones was delightful; they're impeccably trained, playful, and affectionate dogs. They're practically joined at the hip, always together, and it's incredibly entertaining to watch them play - they thoroughly enjoy frolicking in the garden. Jones took a few more minutes than Louie to warm up to us, but before long they were both comfortable. Jones is more obedient and will always want to play with you. Louie can be a tad rebellious, but if he sees you petting Jones, he'll be right there demanding his fair share of affection. We greatly enjoyed going out to read in the garden, and whenever we did, The Boys were always close by, either playing or simply lounging with us. We already miss them. The house is very pleasant and comfortable - it's been quite the experience to stay in a château. Despite its size, it's easy to maintain and clean. The garden is also incredibly beautiful, and it's quite a treat to walk the dogs around it. We would love to return.
Melinda and Duncan are incredible hosts! They provided us with excellent communication/instruction and were very thoughtful. The location of their home is superb. It's close to the lake, public transportation and of course grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, and health clubs. We immediately felt a connection with Syd and Pinkie. They both have opposite personalities and at the same time are very well behaved. Syd loves to show his vulnerability and that he trusts you by expressing his interest in belly rubs. Pinkie requires a bit more time to develop trust with you, but when she does, it feels even stronger. Pinkie is full of surprises (in the best way). Don't be shocked if one day she's looking down at you from above. Syd in the meantime enjoys being close to you and has a blast entertaining himself with his crunch toys! We loved spending time with these cats and can't wait to be with them again. Thank you Duncan and Melinda for trusting us with your beautiful home and sweet kitties!
It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful. Everything. From start to finish. Beautiful home, beautiful pets, beautiful hosts, beautiful city and extremely beautiful country. A million stars out of five. If you ever have the chance to sit for Michèle, don't think twice, apply! Thank you again Michèle!
