I can’t say enough good things about my stay with Wally. He was an absolute love and a popular boy in the neighborhood! For being such a young pup, he walked super well on leash, did a great job with all his commands, and didn’t chew anything he wasn’t supposed to. He loves to snuggle and get pets as much as he likes to play and be chased, and he is a champion napper! Wally kept me laughing with his adorable antics. And that face—who wouldn’t fall in love? The house is bright and beautiful in a really close-knit and supportive community that’s close to everything you need. Vicky and Jeff were really easy to communicate with and very responsive. Great stay-cation with an adorable pup—two thumbs up!!
Was a very nice sit. The kittens were very active but very gentle while interacting. Never once did they play in a malicious way. This was very surprising since most kittens as young children might not understand if they are playing too rough. I was able to get some really adorable pictures that I was able to send to Nicola while she was away. The home was very comfortable with a lovely nieghbor who was very helpful during my stay. It was an absolute joy to sit for Caroline’s wonderful dog Kenzo. We instantly sprouted a connection with him on the first day of our visit, taking him to the local dog park and walking around various blocks close to the apartment. Kenzo is a kind and gentle soul who enjoys playing with other dogs and getting to know people. He is a loyal dog and has a natural protective instinct. He is a joy to rest with in the evening. Caroline’s apartment is beautiful - it is spacious and offers amazing cooking, and laundry facilities. There is also a very lovely garden space that can be enjoyed with Kenzo also which is amazing in NYC! Caroline has some wonderful books by a variety of authors and art influenced material which adds to the whole experience. Caroline was very great at communication and made us feel a lot more secure and sure of what was expected of us while we stayed at hers in terms of Kenzo’s needs. Her welcome guide is thorough and informative which helped a lot. The area is so diverse and exciting - offering lots of locals bars, restaurants and shops that are really worth a visit. We personally really enjoyed Warude’s which is just around the corner on Tompkins - Japanese and Taco place. Easy access to Manhattan from the C train. Highly recommend looking after Kenzo and Caroline’s space. Big thanks to Caroline for having us.
This was my first house sit and what an amazing one it was! Bella is lovely. She's 11 months so at the teenage 'cheeky' stage but I was firm whilst also letting her play and be a pup too. She's so loving and a pleasure to be around. As for the house, well, it's stunning - the view over the lakes is outstanding - I witnessed some tremendous sunrises and sunsets. I met Sarah the night before the sit start and she is warm and explained everything required. We did the first dog walk together too which was helpful. The location is unparalleled. Going on walks felt like I had the entire countryside to myself. However Cockermouth is only a 6 min drive away. I already miss Bella and would be more than happy to sit for Sarah again.
